Diluc had told you—warned you—not to call him that.
And yet, you kept doing it.
At first, it was innocent—shy, polite, the way you always murmured “Yes, sir” whenever he gave you a simple request, your eyes downcast, voice barely above a whisper. He had corrected you gently the first time.
“Just Diluc is fine.”
But you never stopped.
And worse? It was getting more deliberate. The way you’d bite your lip before saying it, the way your breath hitched, the way your fingers fidgeted with your skirt when you whispered it like you knew what it did to him.
Like you knew the way it made his cock throb in his trousers.
So now? Now, he had you pinned—your soft, pliant body bent over the grand mahogany desk in the Dawn Winery’s office, your wrists bound behind your back with his own cravat, your breath hitching with every slow, teasing drag of his gloved fingers over your trembling thighs.
“You really don’t listen, do you?” Diluc’s voice was low, controlled, but there was a dangerous edge to it, heat coiling beneath every syllable.
You swallowed hard, squirming slightly, your hips shifting as if trying to escape the weight of his presence behind you. “I—”
A sharp smack landed on your ass, his gloved palm striking against the soft flesh, making you yelp.
“Ah-ah,” he murmured, his voice deceptively calm. “Answer me properly.”
You shivered, your breath catching in your throat, your fingers curling helplessly behind your back. “…N-No, sir—”
Smack.
“Tch.” Diluc clicked his tongue, his other hand pressing down between your shoulder blades, keeping you firmly in place. “There you go again.”
You whimpered, your thighs trembling, heat pooling in your stomach as your mind swam with the discipline in his voice, the way his fingers dug into your waist, his grip unrelenting.
“You just like pushing me, don’t you?” he mused, his voice thick with something dark, something possessive. “You know how much I hate being called that, and yet…”
He leaned down, his breath hot against your ear, his tone dropping into something low, gravelly.
“It makes my cock hard every time you say it.”
Your entire body shuddered, a soft, breathy moan slipping past your lips before you could stop it.
Diluc chuckled—a low, dangerous sound.
“I should ruin you for it,” he murmured, his gloved fingers sliding lower, pressing right against your soaked, aching core. “Should fuck you so hard you forget how to speak at all.”
His fingers teased you, featherlight strokes against your slick folds, his other hand gripping your waist tighter, controlling every tiny movement you made.
“And yet,” he sighed, almost disappointed, “you’d still find a way to moan it, wouldn’t you?”
You nodded frantically, your thighs squeezing together, your voice breathless, needy, utterly wrecked. “Y-Yes, sir—”
Smack.
This time, when his hand landed, it wasn’t just punishment. It was a promise.
His grip on your throat tightened just slightly, his gloved fingers pressing against your pulse, feeling the way your heartbeat raced under his touch. “Count,” he commanded, his voice sharp, low, his cock pressing hard against your soaked entrance, teasing, taunting.
Your breath hitched, your entire body shuddering in anticipation. “W-What?”
Diluc snarled.
“Count how many times I make you cum,” he growled, his patience wearing thin, his hips rolling against you, coating his cock in your slick without giving you the relief you desperately needed. “Maybe if you hit ten, I’ll consider stopping.”
Your eyes widened, a shuddering whimper slipping past your lips. “T-Ten?”
A dark, amused chuckle rumbled in his chest. “Maybe more, if you’re good.”
And then, without another word, he thrust.
You screamed, your wrists jerking in the silken restraints as his thick cock split you open, stretching you perfectly, hitting so fucking deep on the first stroke that your knees nearly buckled beneath you.
“That’s one,” Diluc murmured, his tone darkly amused, as if he knew you were already gone, already trembling, already losing yourself completely in the way he filled you, ruined you.
Your mouth hung open, panting, your fingers curling into helpless fists behind your back as he set the pace, his thrusts brutal, his hips snapping against yours with enough force to make the heavy oak desk beneath you creak.
“F-Fuck—Diluc—”
Smack.
His palm landed on your ass again, hard, his cock twitching inside you at the way your walls fluttered around him. “Try again,” he growled, his breath hot against your ear, his pace never faltering.
“S-Sir—” you sobbed, unable to help yourself, your back arching, your body tightening around him as your vision blurred with pleasure.
Diluc grunted, his gloved fingers digging into your waist, his cock slamming deep, deep, each thrust making your entire body shake. “That’s two,” he murmured, his tone all sharp arrogance, all dominance, his pace unrelenting. “At this rate, you’ll be begging for more before we even reach five.”
You whimpered, your thighs trembling, your mind slipping into a haze of pure, raw pleasure. Your body was already soaked, your slick dripping down your thighs, pooling between your legs, making every deep, filthy thrust even louder, messier.
Diluc groaned, his jaw clenching, his pace never slowing, his breathing turning rougher, harder, his cock throbbing inside you as he felt you tense again—your walls squeezing tight, your legs twitching as you were pushed to the edge again.
“That’s three,” he muttered, his voice thick with something dangerous, something possessive, as he rolled his hips, hitting that spot that made you cry out, your body convulsing, completely helpless in his grip.
You didn’t know how much time passed, how many times he forced you to cum—each orgasm wracking through you like a violent storm, each thrust shoving you further into a pleasure-drunk haze—but by the time your mind even registered his voice again, he was still going, his gloved fingers forcing your head back, making you look at him.
“How many?” he growled, his sharp crimson eyes burning, his breath ragged, his cock still pounding into you, stretching you wide, filling you completely. “Tell me, brat—how many times have I made you cum?”
You sobbed, your vision blurry, your entire body wrecked, barely able to speak. “I—I lost count—”
Diluc smirked, his expression dark, satisfied.
“Good,” he murmured, his fingers trailing up your throat, his thumb pressing against your parted lips, making you suck in a shaky, broken breath. “Then maybe next time, you’ll listen when I tell you to stop calling me that.”
His cock slammed into you one last time, his body tensing against yours as he groaned, his voice rough, deep, his grip crushing as he finally, finally spilled inside you, filling you completely, his entire body shuddering from the force of it.
The room was silent, save for the sound of your ragged breathing, the slow, lazy drag of his fingers over your trembling thighs, soothing you, grounding you.
And then, after a long, slow pause, as you lay there—completely spent, your body still twitching from the aftershocks—you let out one last, tiny, breathless whisper.
“T-Thank you, sir…”
Diluc sighed.
And spanked you again.

Summary: you're never alone...
Welcome to the chapter 30 of Through The Lens. I hope you all enjoy and there is more to come...stay tuned my loveies!! 🏀💕📸
Y/n’s POV
Sitting on Paige’s bed, wrapped in her UConn hoodie, I exhaled a shaky breath. The events of yesterday—the confrontation at the store, the panic attack—still sat heavy on my chest. I wasn’t just shaken. I was terrified.
The entire team was gathered around, their expressions ranging from concern to anger. Paige sat next to me, her hand on my thigh, rubbing small circles to ground me.
“I owe you all an explanation,” I said quietly.
No one rushed me. They just waited.
I swallowed, gripping Paige’s hand a little tighter. “His name is Marcus. We dated freshman year, but it was… bad. He was controlling, manipulative. At first, I thought it was just him being protective, but then he started isolating me from my friends, making me feel guilty for things I had no control over.”
Paige’s hand clenched around mine.
“Then the gaslighting started,” I continued. “He’d make me doubt myself, twist my words, make me feel like I was losing my mind. He’d get jealous over nothing, accuse me of things I never did. And when I tried to leave—” I took a deep breath, my voice catching. “He grabbed me. Not enough to leave a mark, but enough to scare me.”
The room was silent. The weight of my words hung in the air.
“I got a temporary restraining order against him,” I admitted. “It lasted for two years, but I… I forgot to renew it.”
“Forgot?” Azzi repeated, her voice carefully controlled.
I nodded. “I thought he was gone. He wasn’t a student here anymore, and I hadn’t seen him since the start of sophomore year. I didn’t think he’d come back.”
Paige’s jaw was clenched so tightly I was surprised she hadn’t cracked a tooth. “You’re not going back to your dorm,” she said, her voice firm but gentle.
“I wasn’t planning on it,” I admitted. “I’ll stay here.”
“You practically live here anyway,” KK teased, trying to lighten the mood.
I managed a small smile. “Yeah, but I still need my stuff.”
“I can go grab it,” Ice offered immediately.
“I’ll go with her,” Kayla added.
I hesitated before pulling out my dorm key and handing it to Ice. “Just grab my essentials, please.”
Paige squeezed my hand. “You’ll be okay, I promise.”
I wanted to believe her.
The Next Day – a day Before the Flight to Omaha, I was rushing. I had everything packed for the trip, but at the last second after checking the storage on my card, I realized I needed an extra memory card for my camera. I hadn’t planned on going to my dorm, but it was a quick in-and-out situation. No big deal.
Or so I thought.
As soon as I unlocked my door, I knew something was wrong. The air felt heavy. The blinds were drawn, even though I always left them open. Then, before I could react, the door slammed shut behind me.
I spun around, my stomach dropping.
Marcus stood there, smirking. “You really thought you could avoid me forever?”
Panic clawed at my chest. I reached for my phone, but he was faster. He snatched it from my hand and shoved it into his pocket.
“What do you want?” I forced out, trying to keep my voice steady.
He leaned against the door, like he owned the place; like he owned me. “Just to talk. You owe me that much.”
“I don’t owe you anything,” I spat.
Marcus scoffed. “Come on, don’t be like that. We had something good.”
“You had control,” I corrected.
He took a step toward me, and my heart pounded. My breathing was getting shallow. I needed to get out.
Paige. No—I couldn’t call her. She was in the shower, and if I called, she wouldn’t hear it.
Azzi.
I took a deep breath and willed myself to stay calm. “Can I at least grab my stuff?” I asked, stalling.
Marcus tilted his head, considering.
I turned toward my desk, making it look like I was reaching for my camera gear. Instead, I grabbed the emergency phone I kept hidden in my drawer—just in case.
With shaking fingers, I dialed Azzi. She picked up almost instantly.
“Hey, Y/N, what’s up?”
I forced my voice to stay neutral. “Azzi, I need you to come to my dorm. Now.”
There was a pause. She caught on. “What’s wrong?”
“Just come.”
“I’m on my way,” she said immediately.
I heard her yell for KK before hanging up.
Marcus narrowed his eyes. “Who was that?”
“No one.”
“You always were a bad liar.” he said as he walk closer to be pinning me against the corner edge of my desk.
Azzi’s POV
The second I hung up, I grabbed KK’s arm. “Y/N’s in trouble.”
KK didn’t hesitate. “Let’s go.”
We ran through campus, my heart pounding. I called campus security as we ran, giving them Y/N’s dorm number.
“Please hurry,” I told them before hanging up.
By the time we reached Y/N’s building, my adrenaline was through the roof. We sprinted up the stairs, KK ahead of me, and when we got to her door, I didn’t even think—I banged on it hard.
“Y/N!” I yelled.
There was no response.
I looked at KK, who didn’t hesitate. She stepped back and rammed her shoulder into the door. It didn’t budge at first, but then campus security arrived, unlocking it.
What I saw made my blood boil.
Marcus had Y/N backed against the desk, his body blocking her exit. The second she noticed the door fully opened, Y/N bolted past him, straight into my arms.
KK stepped between them. You need to leave,” she growled.
Campus security grabbed Marcus before he could react.
Y/N was shaking in my arms, clutching my jacket like a lifeline.
“I’ve got you,” I whispered. “You’re safe.”
Paige’s POV
I had just finished my shower when my phone rang. Seeing Azzi’s name made my stomach twist.
“She’s okay,” Azzi said quickly. “She called me instead of you because she knew you wouldn’t hear.”
My blood ran cold. “What happened?”
Azzi explained everything, while I could hear kk calming Y/n down in the background.
I was already throwing on my shoes before she finished.
When Y/N finally walked into my dorm, looking exhausted and shaken, I didn’t say anything. I just pulled her into my arms and held her.
“I’m sorry, I though, I-” she whispered.
I pulled back just enough to cup her face. “Don’t ever apologize for protecting yourself.”
She nodded, eyes glistening.
“I’m getting the restraining order renewed,” she said firmly.
“Damn right you are,” Ice said from the doorway.
The rest of the team filed in, surrounding Y/N with love and protection.
As she leaned into me, I knew one thing for sure—he wasn’t going to hurt her again.
Not while I or the team was around.

coffee coffee coffee
sevika x fem!reader
summary: you could smell the snow in the air as soon as you woke up this morning. you were running early for once, so you decided to have your coffee in instead of on the go today.
a/n: everything that y/n says she is also signing when with isha!!
SPECIAL SHOUTOUT TO MY ARCANE X GILMORE GIRLS TWIN @lambilegs
tags: second person, fluff, gilmore girls au, diner owner!sevika, small town zaun, flirting by fighting, isha is your daughter, grumpy sevika x sunshine reader basically, mutual pining, yearning
ao3 version
when you opened your eyes as you heard your musical alarm go off this morning, you could feel it in your heart.
it snowed last night.
you scrambled up out of your bed and rushed to the window, throwing the doors open as you were greeted with a winter wonderland in zaun. there was a thick layer of fluffy white snow covering every inch of your beloved city, the crisp chill of the air sending a pleasant shiver down your spine.
the world was so quiet as the last little specs of snow fell from the sky, you were able to catch one and watch the pattern melt into your palm. you could hear the squeals of kids having snowball fights down the road, finding a way to pass the time in the rare snow as they waited for their early morning bus.
suddenly, you could see the lights flickering in the corner of your eyes. whipping around with a grin on your face, your teenager was standing in the middle of your door frame with her brows furrowed.
‘hurry up or we won’t make it to sevika’s before school’ she signed hastily.
“appreciate the snow with me for a moment kid!” you whined and tugged her over by the sleeve of her freshly pressed uniform, holding her by her shoulders to force her to look out the window. isha huffed in annoyance and rolled her eyes, used to your antics. she folded her arms and looked out the window, nodding to herself since she knew that you wouldn’t relent unless she did as you said.
you rested your chin on her shoulder and looked out at the landscape in front of you, leaning your head against hers, “now take a deep breath in.”
the two of you took a deep breath in at the same time, the crisp cold air filling your lungs and letting it out almost as quickly as it was taken in.
you kissed the side of her head with an exaggerated ‘mwah’ and gave her a quick hug before prancing over to your closet and throwing open the doors. quickly laying out a basic business outfit, isha picked out matching jewelry for the colors that would match perfectly with your style. she also switched your radio on to the station you both liked, you swore you didn’t know what you would do without her. she was always ready before you with her uniform pressed from the night before and absolutely no wrinkles in her button-up.
humming along to the songs, smoothing out your skirt, and making small adjustments to your clothes as you looked over yourself in the mirror the two of you scurried down the stairs. isha grabbed her backpack and you threw on your purse. there wasn’t much snow, but you still had to trudge through it in your not-so-waterproof shoes. isha was always one step ahead of you, already clearing off the windshield and had the heater running in the car so it was toasty by the time you got in. hastily bucking your seatbelts as you backed out of your unshoveled driveway, the two of you blasted your morning playlist with isha teasing you by shoving her fingers in her ears as you sang along. you stuck your tongue out at her and sang even louder than before.
it was only about a 5-minute drive down one of the only main roads in zaun, easily finding parking on the side of the street. you debated just leaving your car running as you put it into park, but decided against it since there was enough time to sit down for breakfast for once. you parked your car and practically skipped down the sidewalk with isha into your favorite diner, sevika’s. well, it was also the only diner in town. the two of you didn’t come for the food, not that it wasn’t half bad, but sevika special ordered coffee from somewhere she refused to tell you even after pestering her all these years that was just so delicious.
the bells in the doorway alerted the diner of your presence, the snow on the bottom of your shoes quickly removed as you scuffed your feet onto the welcome mat as you made your way to your regular seat. isha almost bumped into your back when you stopped to remove the snow from your shoes, warning you a flick on the back of your neck. you squawked in surprise and gave her a lightherted offended look before fading into a playful smile. you greeted everyone who had said hi when you first came in, a warm fuzzy feeling in your stomach formed with the familiarity that everyone in the town had with each other. the cushions of the chairs didn’t support your hips the same way that they did when you first came to the small town, but you still loved it all the same.
except for that big window that looked into jayce’s ice cream shop, you were definitely not a fan. and the walls desperately needed to be painted. maybe you could convince sevika to paint it a nice teal someday.
glancing around, you didn’t see sevika nor jinx around, probably restocking in the back somewhere since everyone else in the diner had their meals in front of them. isha plopped down into the seat across from you and slid her backpack under the table, narrowly missing your feet.
“well, it looks like it’s ‘fill your own coffee day,’” you said declaratively. setting your purse on the chair next to you and folding your jacket over the back of your own chain. isha shook her head, signing ‘you know sevika won’t like that’ before crossing her arms.
“well then maybe she should’ve been here when we got here,” you countered. you walked behind the counter with confidence and grabbed the coffee pot that was practically begging to be poured into a cup. you happily hummed a tune to yourself and grabbed 2 of the largest mugs from under the counter. after pouring the steamy liquid gold into your cups, you carefully dodged the coffee that spilled over the edges as you popped the tops on.
“hey hun, could i get a refill?” margot called out from the table next to yours, holding up one of the bowl-sized mugs that sevika carried.
“it would be my pleasure,” you chirped and topped off her cup with a majority of the rest of the pot.
“thanks doll,” margot said with a tip of her cup in appreciation, a mischievous smile on her face.
you glanced over at isha, who gave you a teasing look, ‘waitress, can i get my coffee?’
“in a sec i gotta make another pot,” you said with a ruffle to her brown and blue striped hair.
she huffed in annoyance and smoothed out the top of her hair again, running her fingers through the soft strands. currently, it was a somewhat grown-out shag that she was conflicted in either growing out or trimming up again. or maybe chopping it all off, who knows? maybe she could convince you to dye all of her hair blue next time.
meanwhile, you were busy putting the pot back onto the warmer and throwing away the used coffee filter into the trash. just as you put in a new filter and filled it up with the crushed beans, sevika stepped out of the back room door. she immediately spotted you and stormed over.
“what have i said about you being behind the counter?” she barked, glaring down at you.
you rolled your eyes and closed the top of the coffeemaker, pressing the buttons that started brewing a new pot. “well i wouldn’t have been behind the counter if someone was here to serve me when i got here,” you retorted, smiling sweetly up at her.
sevika ran her hand down her face and pointed across the bar counter, “out.”
“you’re so grumpy in the mornings,” you mumbled and reached to grab the two coffees you filled earlier.
“woah woah woah, no,” she said and took the coffees from you before you had a chance to touch them, “go sit down and i will bring your coffee to you.”
“but it’s right there,” you whined and exaggeratedly reached for the two mugs.
“no,” she said gruffly, swatting your hands away.
“but just look at my child! she is coffee-less and it’s all your fault!” you said in a slightly nastily voice, gesturing over to isha who was sticking out her bottom lip and giving her best doe eyes.
sevika groaned and shoved the coffees into you hands, “fine. take them before i change my mind.”
you immediately lit up and smiled brightly at her, “thanks sevi-bear!”
“don’t call me that,” she said in an annoyed tone with no actual bite in it as you returned triumphantly to your table.
jinx skipped out of the door that led upstairs and froze in place as she faced sevika’s icy stare, “where have you been?”
“uh upstairs?” jinx said with an obvious point up towards the roof.
sevika gave her a very miffed look that you caught with a grin, quickly quipping, “you know if you keep making that face it’ll freeze like that.”
she groaned with a shake of her head and waving jinx off, turning her attention down to her restock paper, “just go take the peanut gallery’s order.”
“yes boss!” jinx said with a giggle, tying on her waist apron and pulling out her notepad while she looked at the two of you expectantly.
“soooo what’ll it be this morning girls?”
“i’ll have the blueberry pancakes with more coffee,” you said definitively, already done with your first cup.
jinx glanced over her shoulder with a smirk and scribbled down your order, “careful sweets, every time you make your own coffee you break poor sevika’s heart!”
“heard that from all the way upstairs huh?”
jinx blew a raspberry and threw her head back with a laugh, “please, i’m sure they heard you two bicker across town!”
“well what can i ask, i like to keep things interesting,” you said with a sweet smile and a shrug.
“interesting is right,” sevika mumbled under her breath.
“i heard that!” you called across the room, sevika responding with an eye roll and you sticking your tongue out at her.
“what about you isha?” jinx looked over at her with a smile.
‘banana french toast and more coffee’ she signed with a toothy grin, happy that you didn’t have to translate for her since jinx was thoroughly fluent in sign language.
“good choices all around, it’ll be out in a sec,” she concluded, giving isha’s hair a quick ruffle before sending the order back to the kitchen.
you chuckled as you watched isha fix her hair for the second time that morning, brushing a small cowlick she had back into place.
‘you really need to shovel the driveway’ isha signed with a concerned look on her face.
“i know i know, but we haven’t gotten stuck yet! and that’s what i’m banking on,” you said with a grin, isha disapprovingly shaking her head.
sevika stood at the head of your table and filled up your coffee cups almost to the brim, then paused before looking between the two of you, “you know that drinking too much caffeine can turn your blood not sludge right?”
“then sludge we will be! keep the coffee coming please,” you said as you cheered your mug with isha’s, the two of you sharing a smile over the brim of your cups.
sevika let out an exhausted sigh and went on filling up other customers’ cups.
the food you ordered was brought out shortly after and the two of you fell into a comfortable silence as you ate, isha reading her latest book while you caught up on the local paper. jinx had refilled your cups one more time, ruffling your hair as she left which you squawked at in offense. you combed your fingers through your hair to straighten it out once again, looking over the arts section of the paper, oblivious to sevika’s stolen glances your way.
after wiping your mouth with a napkin and fixing your lipstick in your pocket mirror, you glanced at your watch with a suck of your teeth. “you gotta get going if you’re gonna make the bus kid,” you alerted isha with a fond smile and you watched her quickly pack up her backpack.
‘bye mom, i love you’ she signed as she got up and slung the heavy bag over her shoulder. you beckoned her close as she was about to pass your seat and grabbed her face, pressing a kiss into the side of her head. she made a teasing disgusted face at you that you happily returned, waving her goodbye, “bye kid, love you!”
without even looking up, sevika handed her a to go cup filled with coffee that she happily took with her, signing a quick ‘thank you’.
sighing in content, you finished up your coffee and grabbed your purse as you walked over to the register. you help up your order paper between two fingers as you leaned your forearms on the counter, “ring me up sevi.”
she responded with a grunt that you happily mimicked in a deep tone as you gave you your change, shoving the receipt and loose coins into your purse.
you held out your hand expectantly, making a grabby motion.
sevika looked down at your hand and up at you with an eyebrow raised, "use your words."
you groaned and looked up at the ceiling in exasperation, "you already know what i'm going to ask."
"you won't get anything if you don't ask for it."
"oh really? you'd do anything i asked?" you said with a flutter fo your lashes, leaning in close over the counter.
"depends what you ask for," she said in a slightly lower octave and as you looked into her eyes leaning in closer with about an inch of space in between your noses.
you bit your lip and let your eyesight flick down to her lips for a split second, something that sevika definitely took note of. the tension between the two of you could be cut with a knife, neither of you saying anything for a good minute as if to dare the other to cross the line between friends and lovers. god she smelled good, a mix of fresh coffee, something woody, and cigarettes you knew she smoked behind the diner on her breaks. her lips were slightly parted, the gap between her teeth barely visible with the old scar that definitely had a story she hasn't told you about yet, the shine of her lips matching the lambret piercing she had below her lower lip that she had gotten recently. her hands were planted firmly on the counter with her flannel comfortably rolled up to her elbows that showed off her veiny forearm with her gold one on the opposite side, and you couldn't deny the butterflies in your stomach at having her so close to you.
you unconsciously leaned in closer until an alarm on your phone went off, a reminder that you had to leave for work or you would be late. you swallowed thickly and pulled back to being behind the counter once again, clearing your throat, "a coffee to go... please."
"coming right up," she said in a completely unbothered tone, but to be honest, she was screaming on the inside and felt nauseous. you always smelled sweet, she didn't even mind your coffee breath. but she was scared to make the first step and mess up a good thing, nothing would be the same if you crossed the line between friends and lovers. at least not so publically. she daydreamed about taking you on the perfect date where everything played out like a fairytail that ended with you, sevika, and isha all being one happy family. and maybe another baby for the two of you.
but that's all it was, a daydream. for now, she was just the woman that served you coffee.
she filled up a to-go cup almost to the brim and carefully put the top on, sliding it over the counter to you with a half-smile, "one to go cup, only because you said please."
"thanks sev," you said genuinely, taking the cup from her with a small brush of your fingers against hers. you hoped she didn't see your flushed face as you practically ran out the door to your car, hauling ass to the independence inn to start your day.
"god when are you two going to finally get together?" jinx whined as she leaned against the counter, a shit-eating grin on her face.
"don't you have school to get to?" she said curtly, very obviously avoiding the topic.
"yeah yeah, just know i'm rooting for you!" she said in a sing-song voice, chucking her apron to the back and skipping off to school with her backpack slung over her shoulder.
sevika signed and stared down at the counter. yeah, she was totally screwed.
-
the next morning, you woke up with the same feeling as yesterday.
it snowed again.
this time, it was a slightly less peaceful scene to wake up to.
aka, it looked like a lumberjack way shoveling your driveway.
“hey!” you called out, sticking your torso out the window and holding on tightly to the windowsill.
sevika paused her shoveling and stuck her shovel standing up into the snow beside her. she was wearing her signature flannel with a black jacket over it, loose-fitting jeans, and a beanie on her head inside of the usual baseball cap for extra warmth. she put her hands on her hips and called out, “why didn’t you shovel your driveway dumbass?”
“i don’t have to shovel it because you always get mad and do it for me!” you yelled back, a toothy grin on your face.
“yeah yeah,” she said dismissively and waved her hand around. if her face hadn’t already been slightly flushed from the cold, you would’ve noticed the blush on her cheeks.
she would move mountains for you if you only asked.
you giggled and closed your window, a warm feeling in your chest bloomed even with the cold air in your room.
you could get used to waking up to a grumpy lumberjack.
a/n: i think the sign that isha and y/n would make for sevika’s would be an ‘s’ and ‘coffee’
also i hate pencil skirts

Ex-Sneaky Link!JJ Maybank x Kook!Reader
After months of hooking up with JJ in secret, you both began developing deep feelings for each other, but when his friends, Kie especially, learn of your relationship and plot on it's downfall JJ leaves you reeling and confused as he enters a relationship with his best friend leaving you to wonder what you did to push him away so quickly. Unbeknownst to you however. the blonde was struggling more than he let on, wanting nothing more than to go his own path but feeling trapped with those who used to make him feel free. The only person he can think of now that makes him feel as open as he once did is.... you.
Warnings: Emotional Cheating, Flirty Rafe, Fighting, Alcohol Consumption(JJ gets drunk), Fighting and Lying.
~~~~
The second you exited the office JJ was hot on your heels, catching up to you before you could even reach your car. “Rafe is one of Barnes’ clients? Seriously?”
“Well technically not yet but he wants to be.” You answer, avoiding his eyes with the excuse of finding the right button to unlock your door. Before you can however JJ snatches the keys from you, raising his eyebrows challengingly and making you finally turn to look at him.
“I didn’t think he was actually going to show up for the meeting Jay I’m sorry,” You pinch the bridge of your nose and sigh, “He’s been canceling the meeting for months now and I genuinely thought he would again, and again until Mr.Barnes finally said no. I wouldn’t have suggested the job had I thought he would actually be coming in.”
“Why didn’t you tell me it was even a possibility?” He snaps, staring at you as you began to shrink before him.
“I don’t know Jay, I wanted you to work with me so I didn’t tell you because I’m a selfish idiot. Mr.Barnes didn’t even want to meet with him after everything and I genuinely thought it would never happen. I’m sorry.” You sigh, staring up at JJ, you had never seen him as angry as he was right now and as your eyes glossed over JJ seemed to notice. His walls breaking, staring down at your slightly scared eyes.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to sound like a dick.” He sighs, handing you your keys slowly before he continues, “I just really hate Rafe, he’s one of the worst people I have ever met and I guess I just got jealous.”
Your eyes meet his and JJ swears he can see something in them, something telling him you’re scared. Like you’re hiding something. He needs to remind himself he has no right to pry but something nags at him as he watches you avert your eyes away from him once again. He grabs your shoulder gently getting your eyes back on him before he starts speaking slowly.
“I’m sorry, really. You don’t owe me anything.” Guilt rushes through you at his words and you desperately try to keep eye contact with him while he speaks but ultimately you fail.
“I should probably get home Jay. It’s not right that you’re getting jealous about me of all people when you have Kie. Maybe we should start keeping our distance from each other.” You state simply trying to maintain a neutral voice as JJ’s eyes furrow in confusion.
“What? What the hell happened to “I want you to stay”? I thought you wanted me in your life now y/n?” JJ snaps, stepping closer to you even though you don’t say anything, you cant.
You stand still facing away from him, listening to the pleading tone in his voice. JJ watches you, scoffing when you walk forward again getting in your car and driving off. Leaving him confused and upset where he stands in the parking lot.
Luckily JJ made it easy to ignore your feelings for him. He didn’t text you as you made it home and even though you kept checking his contact while getting ready for the evening you knew it was for the best. Part of you even wanted to be woken up with a call from him, asking to be let in, but it never came. So you dealt with the pain you caused yourself alone.
JJ wanted to call you that night, wanted to beg you to rethink but he couldn’t because he knew you were right. He couldn’t bring himself to choose. He couldn’t bring himself to lose you or his friends. And if he couldn’t pick he couldn’t expect you to stay around and just wait. But the thought of you and Rafe had him tossing and turning in Kie’s bed all night, and when he walked into work that next morning a feeling of total dread was settled in his chest. He knew what he wanted, he just had to be brave enough to take it.
And it turns out he just wasn’t.
You ignored him expertly throughout the morning hours, telling yourself your feelings for him were selfish and heartless of you to pursue. Egging yourself on to push everything down further and further by remding yourself of Kie and how you would feel if you were in her place instead. But it didn’t make it easy. It never would.
Despite you wanting your distance JJ found excuses to be near you all morning, coming to clean the floor he already cleaned yesterday just to try and force eye contact to no avail. JJ knew he was acting desperate but he just couldn’t imagine himself ever being able to stay away from you. He knew he had no right to he so angry but when the moment he had been dreading finally came and Rafe’s giant shiny new truck pulled up to the office JJ was already fuming at the sight.
All he could do was watch with barely hidden rage when Rafe sauntered his way through the office doors, making his way to your desk with a smile JJ knew too well. He was early and JJ knew that had to be intentional. He was suddenly early after canceling for months, something about it just didn’t sit right with him.
“Hey y/n, I almost forgot you worked here for a bit,” Rafe remarked with a smirk, leaning against your desk with a nonchalant air about him, “I’m early I know but I was hoping Mr.Barnes could squeeze me in, I had something come up for later”
“Mr.Cameron, I can ask in a few minutes but he’s on a private phone call at the moment.” You try to keep your annoyance out of your tone, expertly avoiding his eyes too as you needlessly stare at you work tablet.
“You’re so professional Y/N, might have to try and steal you from Barnes to come work for me.” JJ scoffs, eavesdropping on your conversation as his eyes burn holes in both you and Rafe.
“I’m not quite sure what I’d do at your club Rafe, I’d much rather stay here where I’m comfortable. But thank you.” Rafe laughed softly, watching you with his deep eyes you had grown to hate.
“I know you can be fun y/n, you may be all professional now but don’t think I forgot our party days.” JJ almost snaps as he listens to the sultry tone Rafe uses with you, the way it comes to him so easily like he’s used it with you before.
“Yeah well not everyone is proud of the worst days of their life Ray.” The name slips from your lips without thinking, and you curse yourself, avoiding Rafe’s eyes again and trying to ignore the burning gaze of JJ.
Are you fucking kidding me? JJ thinks, his teeth gritting together trying to control himself.
“I forgot how much I like when you call me that.” Rafe’s voice takes on a deeper tone you knew very well, forcing your eyes up to his just as it always used to.
JJ watches how you look at him, like you were in his trance, like you were a deer caught in headlights. He could feel the anger bubbling over in his chest, he knew he couldn’t, shouldn’t, feel this way. But he couldn’t stop it. He hated seeing him anywhere near ypu.
“Weren’t you supposed to have your business partner with you?” You ask, your voice shaking slightly as your eyes meet JJ’s dark gaze from the corner where they lock onto you immediately. Rafe’s eyes shoot to JJ for a split second, a dark smile painting across his face when his eyes meet yours again. He was having fun.
“Once I remembered you worked here I came right over, Top’s busy today so it’s just us.” You hear the teasing hint to Rafe’s voice, ignoring it the best you can while at the same time desperately trying to ignore JJ’s intense, blue gaze.
“Actually it will just be you and Mr.Barnes, I won’t be needed for the meeting,” Letting your voice take on a sweet, customer service esc voice to let him know you wanted to keep it professional you stand and make your way to knock on your boss’ door.
“Mr.Cameron’s here early Sir, he’s ready for your meeting together if you are.” Mr.Barnes takes note of the annoyance in your tone eyeing the look on your face with a raised eyebrow. You were in fact meant to be a part of the meeting, taking note of the arrangements needed and readying his schedule for future meetings but Mr.Barnes was quite perspective and took your hint quickly.
“Let him in, I’ll update you after.” You flash him a thank you smile as you return to your desk, waving Rafe into your boss’ office quickly before he can speak to you again and shutting the door behind him.
The second you could stop to take a quick breath JJ’s shadow blanketed you entirely. Forcing eye contact with you, raising his eyebrows questioningly while you avoid him expertly. You take your sest at your desk, acting as though JJ wasn’t following quickly behind you, starting to speak angerly.
“What was that?” He asks, his tone clearly trying to hide his annoyance. You roll your eyes, keeping quiet and focused on your tablet in front of you despite his insistent eyes.
“Come on y/n that was definitely something.” You could hear his exasperation, leant down onto your desk, his biceps flexing in anger. Your eyes meet his quickly before dropping back down to your screen, trying to ignore the heat running through your body at his anger.
“You shouldn’t even be asking me that,” You sigh giving him a glance before continuing, “What would Kie ask you if she saw how you talk to me huh?”
“Okay so there is something going on?”
“Why would you say that?” You turn in your chair, facing him fully and staring at him exasperated.
“Because you just compared it to us and you can’t deny there is definitely something going in between us still.” JJ moves forward quickly, grabbing the arms of your chair, staring into your eyes intensely and making you swallow out of fear of telling the truth. Moving forward quickly you grab random papers meant to be mailed out today, shoving past JJ’s muscular frame quickly practically running away from him to the mailbox just outside.
Thankfully he doesn’t follow, watching you with a pinched brow, anger flowing through him as he feels his face heat up. JJ lets the day continue as normal, not missing how you run off to the bathroom as soon as Rafe starts to exit Barnes’ office with a smile on his face.
As Rafe’s leaving he takes the chance to approach JJ for the first time in a year. His tongue poking into his cheek while he suppresses a smile making JJ’s teeth grit in anger.
“Hey Maybank, didn’t think I’d see you here,” Rafe laughs slightly between his words, looking off as if checking for you, “Y’know you take your girls for granted, it’s like they’re always itchin’ for someone else’s attention.” Rafe laughs as JJ refrains from jumping at him, watching him leave with a scowl on his face.
~~~~
You make it home quickly, avoiding JJ like the plague for the rest of the work day. Even going as far as leaving from a different door to avoid his accusatory tone and glances.
Your chest tightens every time you think of JJ for the rest of the evening. Taking your time in the shower to enjoy the warmth of the water and the fragrance wafting around you. You almost feel empty as you accept the cold of the bathroom once you step out, dressing in your night clothes as fast as you can before being shocked out of your feelings by a crash in your room outside the door to your bathroom.
The sound of someone seemingly crashing into your bedroom sends you panicking. Alone in your bathroom you find the closest thing that could cause bodily harm before cautiously opening the bathroom door and stepping out wielding a hair dryer. Your window was open fully, the cold breeze reminding you of your uncovered nightgown as you look around. JJ laughs cutely behind you and you almost scream, turning to him exasperated, breathing heavily as you drop the almost useless hair dryer. “Oh….it’s you.”
JJ smiles at you, but somethings off as you notice the sight was less comforting, the smell of liquor hitting your nose. He had been drinking, you thought. The lack of the noise from his motorcycle and the stumbling suddenly made sense when you took note of his inebriated state.
“What are you doing here, arent you supposed to he at Kie’s?”
“I’m not supposed to be anywhere y/n,” He snaps, making his way around your room looking at all the photographs on your wall, unbeknownst to you looking for any sign of Rafe.
“Did you guys get into another fight?” You ask, quickly moving to stand beside him.
“Why do you care?” He spits, a look of disgust on his face when he walks towards you, “What’s going on with you and Rafe?” JJ asks ignoring your question entirely stepping towards you as you stutter, breathing in quickly and turning to walk away from him.
“Nothing, why would you ask that?” Your chest tightens, watching him step closer to you, stepping away from him while watching his bloodshot eyes.
“I saw the way he looked at you, and I heard what he said, what did he mean your party days. What the hell is he talking about y/n.” JJ’s voice rises unknowingly coming close to yelling, so close to you now you he’s practically screaming in your face.
“It was just a rebellious phase, I went to some of his parties and we had fun together.”
“The way we had fun together?” JJ snaps, an accusatory tone filling his voice as he slurs at you. He was so close you could smell the alcohol on his breath, and against everything you knew of JJ you felt scared of him.
“No JJ why would you think that? We never did anything like that, it wasn’t that serious.” Your voice turns to begging and he senses the shift in your demeanor, stepping back slightly.
“I’m sorry y/n,” JJ breaks down slightly, his voice breaking and sounding so desperate it almost broke your heart. You move up to him, grabbing his shoulders in an attempt to reassure him. Rubbing them softly with your hand as you speak, making eye contact with him and keeping it.
“It’s okay JJ, I get it,” You sigh watching him while you continue, “I can’t control my feelings for you so I can’t expect you to either. It’s seems like no matter what I do I’m being selfish towards someone.” JJ slowly starts to lean into you, his drunken and seemingly heartbroken state making you jump away just as he gets closer to you.
“Jay we can’t, you can’t. And you really need to stop trying.” JJ comes even closer despite your hand coming up to rest on his chest, he comes so close that his lips almost brush against yours before dropping his head to your neck. You can feel when his tears start to fall, wetting your shoulder while his arms wrap around your waist tightly.
“I’m sorry, I just miss you,” JJ says through broken sobs, “I miss you so fuckin’ much it hurts.” Your heart breaks for him as he speaks, mumbling into your shoulder. “I hated seeing you talk to Rafe, I hate the idea of him being anywhere near you ever again.”
“If he and Mr.Barnes come to an agreement I won’t need to interact with him okay,” You say softly, reassuring him while rubbing his back, “Some of Barnes’ men will be sent to his club on the agreed days and then that will be that and we can forget all about him.”
JJ’s bloodshot eyes meet yours, his tear streaked face sending a pang of guilt directly to your heart. You wished everything was easy, that you could just be each others first everything so you wouldn’t have to go through moments like this. You wished you could have him like you used to. You wished you both could just be happy no matter what. But you could tell it would never be easy now.
“I should probably get going, I shouldn’t stay another night if we’re supposed to be keeping our distance.” You scoff as he turns to walk towards your window, walking around him quickly and pushing him back down your bed with a small laugh.
“Hell no JJ, you are absolutely shit faced and it’s almost midnight. I am not letting you stumble around this island looking for a place to stay just because we can’t control our feelings.” You laugh at his awe struck look he gives you while staring up at you desperately, “Imma get you some water and aspirin for the morning when you’re inevitably hungover. Get comfortable Jay, because you’re not leaving.”
“Thank you.” JJ whispers so quietly you almost didn’t hear him just as he begins to settle into your bed. You enter your connected bathroom without a response, getting him his water and painkillers before returning to find him already entirely knocked out.
And you knew in that moment as you watched JJ’s sleeping figure, comfortable and safe on your bed that he could never find out how close you and Rafe once were.

The party was in full swing when you arrived, music pounding through the speakers as you made your way to the basement bar. Grabbing yourself a drink, you felt the lively energy flow through you when you looked around. A few people were dancing, and others were scattered in small pairs and groups, laughter and chatter spilling over. You recognized just about everyone, and you didn’t plan to stay long, but it would’ve upset your best friend if you didn’t make an appearance.
“There you are!” Shauna yelled, nearly knocking the drink out of your hand when she went in for a hug.
“Here I am,” you smiled. You could smell the liquor on her breath, and she’d probably make you do at least one shot to catch up a little. “Sorry I’m late.”
“Hey, you showed. All that matters,” she said over the music.
You sighed inwardly. Parties like this used to be so much. Drinks flowed, excitement felt contagious, and nights felt endless. Something changed along the way. The more parties that ended with you going home by yourself made you realize how lonely you were. There was no one to wake up beside you in the morning, and no one came home to you at night. It hurt.
One thing you refused to do was settle. You wouldn’t just drive yourself into the arms of someone you knew you shouldn’t be with just to take away the loneliness for a night. You just wondered when things would turn around.
As if by some divine voice who heard your heart crying, you turned and locked eyes with a man across the room. They were the bluest eyes you had ever seen and they pulled you in. If you drowned, your dying words would’ve been to thank him. Everything made sense, and nothing made sense at all when he softly smiled.
“Who is that?” you asked, still tangled up in his stare.
“Oh, that’s Chris. He’s new to the area,” Shauna replied, giving you a gentle shove forward and making some of your drink spill over this time. “He’s totally checking you out, so go.”
He kept smiling when you glided across the room. No one seemed to touch you or block your path, almost like they knew not to interfere. And as luck would have it, there was an open spot right beside Chris. You expected half the party to be vying for his attention, but maybe they were put off by him being an outsider or his dangerous aura.
It drew you in like a moth to a flame.
“Hey,” you breathed.
“Hey,” he smirked.
His eyes were somehow brighter up close. Your fingers itched to reach up and trace his goatee. Glancing down, you spotted a few rings on fingers and wondered what they would feel like grazing or digging into your flesh. You managed to give him your name and hoped he was sticking around, but he had his jacket on like he wasn’t planning to stay long either.
“I’m Chris,” he said, clinking his bottle against yours in lieu of a handshake.
“Nice to meet you.” Taking a swig, his eyes went to your lips when you licked a drop away. “You’re new around here.”
“I am,” he confirmed, your stomach twisting in a delightful knot as his eyes swept over you. “Not a bad place, but I don’t know my way around just yet. Wouldn’t mind showing me sometime, would you?”
It thrilled you that he asked, but you didn’t want to appear too eager. “I may be able to do that.”
“May?” He raised an eyebrow. “How can I turn that into a ‘yes’?”
“Step outside with me so we can talk away from the noise and I’m sure you can find a way to convince me,” you smiled, knowing full well you’d show him all the best spots and hidden gems.
He smirked and took a swig of his own beer. “Lead the way.”
Slipping your hand in his, you winked at Shauna watching across the room. The voice in the back of your head said not to rush into his arms just because you felt an instant connection, but you had a good feeling about him. Even if you didn’t take him home tonight, there was always tomorrow.
And for the first time in a long time, you were glad you went to a party.
Love and thanks for participating! ❤️

Summary: You and Ridoc have been dating for months now, and he's been missing all day. What could he possibly have planned for your first Valentine's Day together?
Warnings: fluff, that's it - just fluff
Part 2/2 - 🌶️
Author's Note: This ended up being WAY longer than I meant it to, and I can't wait to upload part two, which will get spicy. I hope you like part one though!
Word Count: 3,466
My back hurt from flight maneuvers this morning as Draka had decided that today was the perfect day to spring a new move on me…without informing me that they were doing so. I nearly lost my seat, but with grit, determination, and a healthy amount of luck I was able to keep it. However, I ended up with what felt like a massive bruise on my back from the moment where I nearly lost it.
Chores at 5am this morning kicked my ass too, scrubbing floors as penance for a prank that my loving boyfriend dragged me into last minute. How should I have known that he’d cooked up something particularly nasty for Dain to run into? I thought he’d been clinging to me as per usual.
But no. He’d been using me as an alibi, and gotten me roped into his punishment with him. If he wasn’t so cute, apologizing and promising to make it up to me later, I might’ve been mad at him. Damn Ridoc and his puppy dog eyes, always sweet-talking the anger right out of me.
Speaking of the man, he’d been suspiciously missing all day. No flight maneuvers. No battle brief. No history. The last time I’d seen him was right after we’d finished scrubbing. He’d given me a chaste kiss and apologized again before dragging Sawyer off with him to “prepare something”. What that something was? No clue. Sawyer was back by battle brief, with no Ridoc in tow.
At this point I didn’t really care either. It’s Friday. I was done for the week, and I wanted nothing more than to shower. Let the water run over my tired and aching muscles, maybe curl up with a good book after, and then go in my dorm and hide from the world. Maybe go find Ridoc. But if I knew my boyfriend, he’d find me long before I could find him, and with the distance he had today, it wouldn’t be long until he was seeking me out.
Was I worried about what he was up to? Slightly. Was I more worried that he was about to drag me into another of his masterful pranks? Definitely.
“Hey! Y/N!” Violet’s voice rang down the hall and I turned to see her jogging to catch up, a bright grin on her face as she made it to my side. “Xaden said that package came in! You know, the one you had me order a few weeks ago?” She winked conspiratorially and I blank-faced. Package? What package again?
“Huh?” I asked, and her eyes widened as she finally took in my form. Mud up to my shins. Leathers looking dirty and ragged, definitely needing a fresh wash. Scratches on my hands, and back slumping as I tried to take the pressure off it. My hair was definitely a mess, and I felt like I could barely keep my eyes open.
“Damn Y/L/N, are you…alright?” She asked, biting her lip and worry washing over her.
“Yeah, just penance chores and Draka being difficult during flight training.” I sighed.
‘You need to be prepared Brave One,’Draka’s voice echoed in my head, ‘It is for both of our sakes. The Silver One and Tairn demand worthy riders to follow them into battle.’
'I know. I know.’ I relented mentally. ‘Why did I have to be bonded to the one dragon with a case of hero worship?’ She chuffed mentally, and I had to fight off a smirk.
“Think she’ll let up on you?” Violet asked and I raised an eyebrow at her and let out a chuckle.
“Would Tairn let up on you?” I asked and she laughed.
“Touché.” She relented. “But the package, you know what day it is right?”
“Ugh? Friday?” I asked, suddenly feeling stupid. What day was it?
“Wow I guess Ridoc didn’t need to worry after all.” She laughed, and then shook her head. “It’s Valentine’s Day Y/N.”
My eyes widened in shock and then suddenly, I really did feel stupid. How could I have forgotten, when that’s all Ridoc had talked about for the last two weeks! “Shit!” I hissed, shaking my head. “You said it arrived? Where?” I looked her over, but surely the package wouldn’t fit in her small pack.
“Dropped it off in your room.” She said grinning wide again. “Figured it’d be easiest to leave it there for later.” She winked and I laughed.
“Thanks Vi, you’re the best. Seriously.” I said, and she smiled wide. “Speaking of my boyfriend though, where’s he been off to today?”
“Oh is the Princess finally realizing her boyfriend is missing is she?” Sawyer asked teasingly as he merged into our slow pace, heading towards the dorms.
“Shut up, you don’t have nickname privileges Sawyer.” I teased. “But yeah, know where he is?”
“No clue, he ditched me after I dared to…oh how did he say it? ‘Impose upon his creative vision.’ ” He chuckled, shaking his head. “I told him you’d like it if he gave you a damn rock, but he wasn’t convinced.”
“You know how he is with her.” Violet chided, and I shook my head.
“Like a damn puppy?” Sawyer asked.
“No, like he’s in love with her!” Rhiannon quipped, and I laughed, despite my heart lurching at the words. The words that we definitely hadn’t said to each other yet.
“You don’t even know who we’re talking about.” I grumbled and Rhi laughed.
“Puppy? That blush on your face? It’s obvious we’re talking about Ridoc here, c’mon.” She laughed at the incredulous look on my face. “Dude follows you around like you’re a divine being and you’ll grant him some immortal gift. There’s no possible way we could be talking about anyone else.”
“Fine. Have any of you, other than Sawyer, seen my boyfriend?” I asked.
“No, but I would get cleaned up though, I think he planned to have it all done by six.” Rhiannon said, but Sawyer shook his head.
“Seven. The ugh-“ He side-glanced me, “Well, it was a little more difficult than originally planned. And Aotrom decided to take matters into his own hands, or claws I guess.” Sawyer chuckled and my eyes narrowed.
“What does Aotrom have to do with it?” I asked, and all three of them blanched.
“Please don’t ask. He’ll be pissed if we let it slip. He’s been planning this since you guys got together.” We got together six months ago? Just before threshing?! Sawyer groaned. “And he’ll blame it on me.”
“Because you’re the only one who was supposed to know, but then you came blabbing to us!” Violet teased and Sawyer groaned again.
“Just…please don’t ask.” Sawyer begged and I laughed.
“Whatever, I’m gonna go get ready for my date? I guess?” I said and they all nodded.
“Date works.” They agreed, and I nodded, lifting my hand as a goodbye as I turned to enter my room. Closing the door behind me, I immediately saw the brown parcel containing the items I’d ordered and smiled. While some would have to wait for later, there were things I could definitely use right now.
A few hours later and I was once again sitting in my room, waiting for Ridoc, who still had yet to show. Yet, not an ounce of me was worried, because it’s Ridoc. He’s probably the only person on this entire campus that I trust with 100% of my everything. The man could take my hand, tell me to jump off a cliff with him and all he would have to do to convince me would be to ask me to trust him. And I would. Gods, I really would.
A sudden urgent knocking, or rather, pounding at the door dragged me from my thoughts, and I jumped up to get the door. I’d barely taken in the sight of Ridoc (his hair an absolute mess, what little exposed skin that was showing was covered in a thin sheet of sweat, and he was shaking), when he pulled me into the hallway and into his arms, squeezing me tightly into a hug and burying his head into my neck and littering kisses along the exposed skin.
I giggled, and then moaned when he suddenly sucked a bit of skin between his teeth. “Ridoc stop it, we’re in the hall.” I whined as he pulled back, and I was nearly knocked off my feet by the look of absolute adoration he was giving me.
“Sorry Princess, couldn’t help myself. By the way…Happy Valentine’s Day Y/N.” His grin made my heart stutter, then stop. So consuming, so warm, so..completely, Ridoc.
“Happy Valen-AHH!” I screeched as he suddenly picked me up, spinning me around like he does anytime he gets too excited to contain himself. Which is often, and I’m definitely still not used to it. I groaned as the pain from the bruise that had indeed bloomed on my back hit, his grip a tad too tight on the sensitive skin. And why was he so fucking cold?!
He immediately stopped, letting me down and looking worried. I gave him a sheepish look. “Nothing big, got a bruise during flight practice today. Not your fault, you didn’t know.”
“You sure you’re okay.” He looked worried for all of a moment before I nodded and then he was giving me a flirty wink and a panty soaking grin. “Good, because after what I’ve got planned for tonight I was reaaaally hoping we’d come back and have a little fun together.” He waggled his eyebrows as I giggled. Wait. Come back?
“Are we going somewhere?” I asked and he nodded excitedly.
“I made a surprise for you.” He said, and I raised my eyebrows.
“I assume that’s why you’re freezing and look like you’ve been working with your signet all day?” I asked and he nodded again.
“But no more hints, Aotrom is excited and waiting for us.” I raised my eyebrows. “Yeah you heard that right Princess, Aotrom has decided to let you ride on him today…. and only today.” He looked like he added that bit on Aotrom’s request, as they were obviously conversing together now. “He’s as excited as I am though, he’s been helping me all day.”
“Let’s go before I start asking more questions.” His grin took my breath away as he leaned in.
“Probably best.” He muttered, before sweeping me into an all-consuming kiss, that was entirely too inappropriate for the public hallway. I didn’t have the heart to stop him though, and I knew I never would.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
‘I’m sorry I ever doubted your flying skills!’ I thought at Draka, who snorted.
‘Glad I finally get some recognition.’ Being so far away messed with me, even though they were still a five minute flight away, hunting in the mountains.
‘Seriously, how does Ridoc deal with this?!’
‘Aotrom is a very…spirited dragon.’ They weren’t kidding, that’s for sure. The way Aotrom flew felt downright reckless compared to how Draka flew. I couldn’t tell if he was showing off or trying to kill me. ‘He wouldn’t dare endanger what’s mine.’ Draka hissed in my mind. If Ridoc wasn’t here I would have fallen off by now, that’s for sure. I wasn’t quite as certain he wasn’t trying to kill me.
Ridoc’s grip on my hip though, rubbing little circles into my skin? Steadying me and holding me to his chest as his other hand gripped the pummel of his dragon? It had my heart racing for reasons other than his dragon’s reckless flying. Maybe his goal was to make me so grateful I was still alive that whatever he’d planned for me would seem amazing on principle. Whatever, I couldn’t really find myself caring. Just wanting to touch land as well as kiss Ridoc. I’d been yearning to put my lips back on his since back in the hallway where he’d kissed me like he was gonna take me, right then and there.
I kinda wished he had.
But even with his dragon’s insane flying, the biting cold of the February air whipping through my hair, and my choice of clothing beneath my flight jacket making me question my choices; I felt undeniably warm and safe in the arms of the man I called my own. And I wanted to see what he’d spent so much time planning and then energy executing. He was tired, that much was obvious, but he was here, and my heart beat in my chest at the thought. He always sacrificed so much, just to see me smile.
I wish I could tell him that I love him. It was the only thing I couldn’t get myself to say, though it’d been on the tip of my tongue for weeks. Irrational fear held me back, held my tongue, telling me it was too early, too soon, that I couldn’t possibly know that this is true love. A million different reasons to tell me to just keep my mouth shut. To hold those three words in, until the time was right. Whatever the fuck that means.
Soon we were landing, Ridoc holding me tighter to him as we were jostled about, and then helping me down once we’d made dry land. Well, other than the snow, so I guess, mostly dry land. The snow crunched below our boots, but I hadn’t made it three steps before Ridoc covered my eyes with his hands.
I chuckled, kind of expecting it. After all, Ridoc never did anything in halves. Full commitment kind of guy, whether it be a prank or a surprise, he always put in his best.
“Okay Y/N, let me lead you through here, and then I’ll uncover your eyes, promise.” His voice was laced with childlike glee, as he held me steady towards whatever he wanted me to see. There was rushing water nearby, deafeningly loud, maybe a river? Or a waterfall? I couldn’t really tell. But that was my only hint other than when the air shifted, from biting cold with wind to…surprisingly warm. Not enough to strip my jacket or anything, but warm enough for my nose to stop tingling.
It was only a few steps later when he let go, and my jaw dropped as I spun, trying to take everything in all at once. We were in a cave behind a…waterfall? That had to be right, but where running water should be, was a giant ice wall, shining and shimmering, but standing resolute and protecting the rest of the cave from the mist that should be pouring in. Good thing too because spread around the large space were a bunch of different torches, and the center of the room was a large ice bowl, with a roaring fire inside. And between the torches? Half a dozen life-size dragon figures. Not just any dragons…Iron Squad’s dragons. In astonishing detail, and shimmering differently than his normal ice figures did. Shock overcame me when realization hit.
“You finally achieved permafrost?!” I asked whipping around to see him hanging by the cave’s entrance, smiling warmly at me.
“I’ve only been working at it for the last month. Achieved it last night.” He said, and I smiled wider.
“This control though! These are amazing babe!” I said and he chuckled walking forward, taking my hand and leading me around the backside of the fire, where I could now see a picnic basket, a large cushion big enough for both of us and a thick blanket.
“The waterfall was the hardest part, and the outside has already melted.” He sighed, frowning slightly at the waterfall as my jaw dropped.
“You froze the entire waterfall?!” I asked as he pulled me down into his lap.
“You say that like I did something impossible.” He brushed me off but his self-satisfied smirk betrayed his act of playing coy.
I brushed his messy curls out of his face, and placed a chaste kiss on his lips. “Nothing seems to be impossible for you. I’ve definitely learned that in these last few months together. This is definitely repayment for chores this morning, and then some.” I giggled, looking around to see that he’d hung icicles from the ceiling as well, some as long pillars and then some as teardrops, all of them creating kaleidoscopes of light across the ceiling and walls. “Let me guess, Aotrom lit the fires.”
“And kept me warm. Otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to-“ He stopped, face going sheepish as he saw the pout and minor glare forming on my face. “Don’t give me that look, I promise I didn’t take it too far.”
“Just almost too far.” I accused and he chuckled nervously.
“Riiight. Also this is just for Valentine’s, I still have to make up for chores.” He assured me, making me roll my eyes.
I looked around again, my heart easing. “It really is beautiful.”
“Well you seem to love my ice so much, I figured I’d make a grand gesture. Plus s’mores!” He announced, opening the picnic basket, where chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers sat, as well as two metal rods.
“Makes more sense now.” He gave me a confused look. “Why you enlisted Sawyer’s help.” His eyes darkened and I realized my mistake. “He didn’t say anything, I swear! I only asked him where you were because I saw you drag him off this morning.”
“Hmm,” He paused before kissing my nose. “Fine, Sawyer is spared, just this once.”
I laughed and pulled out the sticks. “Let’s get roasting, yeah?”
“Anything you wish Love.” The word pounded through my head, and stopped my heart. It was new, and made my cheeks go crimson. But I definitely didn’t hate it, in fact, it had completely the opposite effect, making my stomach flip and my core go molten.
“And I-I wish for s’mores.” I said, and if he noticed the effect it had on me, he hadn’t said a thing, just lifted up the marshmallows for me to load our sticks.
We caught up over marshmallows and chocolate, and I gave him a rundown of my day. He licked off every stray bit of chocolate that happened to escape my mouth, and the third time it happened, he’d sent me into a giggling fit so violent, we’d both ended up on our backs laughing. He wrapped an arm around me, and I rested my head on his shoulder, and we stared up at the light dancing across the icicles.
He’d been oddly silent for a while. In fact, this entire night he’d been much quieter than normal, and it was starting to concern me a bit.
“I need to tell you something Y/N.” He whispered finally, and I turned to look at him but he tightened his hold on me. “Don’t. Keep looking at the lights while I muster up the courage here.”
He sounded nervous, which…honestly I’d never actually heard him nervous before. Even when Violet proposes some absurd plan. Even when he asked me to be his. He’d never sounded nervous.
“Okay…can’t say you’re not putting me on edge here.” I whispered back but did what he asked, finding his hand and squeezing it for support.
“I-I…it’s just…I’ve tried writing it out…practicing with Sawyer…and I lost myself in the details of all this because I didn’t…don’t know how to say it.” He whispered, emotion catching in his throat as realization hit me. I knew what he was about to say. Knew, only because I could suddenly feel it in every single chunk of ice around me.
“I just wanna say-“ I cut him off.
“I love you Ridoc.” I whispered. He froze. And then suddenly he was on top of me, laughing and looking so bewildered.
“There is no WAY you just stole my thunder!!” He said, tickling me and making me squirm. “I fucking love you brat!”
“Well you were taking to long-“
“I’m sorry my confessions of love take too long for you!” He teased, tickling me until I could barely breath, only then did he stop. His mouth hovering above my own and eyes dancing with delight. “You really love me though?”
“Of course Ridoc,” I muttered, his mouth looking even more inviting as the words really sank in. He loves me too. “Even without all this, I already love you. Now…I still have my gift to give to you.” I whispered, brushing my lips across his, but pulling out of his reach when he tried to kiss me properly. “But, it’s back in my room.”
His eyes darkened. He smirked. Then he hummed, like he was thinking it over before speaking. “Okay love, let’s go see what you have cooked up then.”
precis: some of the infinite things that levi does that will never make you question the feelings he has for you. (bulletins)
content: fluff, just simple little things that levi shows how he loves or likes you
warnings: none, except for the fact that your friends are questionable in some of them.
❥ Walks to the park was always a part of your weekly routine. It wasn’t the walk itself that made it fun for you, but it was the scene that would entertain your eyes. Watching dogs, carelessly run around fetching frisbees, and tennis balls to return them back to their owners, and seeing people enjoy their time with the small little family that you hope you’ll be gifted one day.
However, these weren’t the reasons why you came.
It was the guy with the undercut who sat right under the shade, sipping what it look like to be tea in his hand, wearing his reading glasses, and scanning the contents of his book that kept you coming back to this very park every week.
You’d walk countless times around the park over and over for at least within an hour at least but under an hour and a half at most.
It made you feel like a creep. You couldn’t stand to imagine if a stranger did what you were doing, whether a man or a woman. That thought alone gave you an unsettling feeling. However, you couldn’t help the longing feeling of him being so familiar to him.
Still, it felt wrong.
You scrunch up your face. Resisting the urge to continue on being a creep, you let out a sigh. As much as you wanted a chance with this stranger, you knew that it shouldn’t happen this way. Please, give me a sign—you begged to whoever was writing your story.
And as you pass him once again, you got your answer.
Just beside his own cup of tea that he bought from the tea shop not too far, sat another cup of tea sat right beside him. Something your eyes were heedless to catch. It’s safe to assume that he’s waiting for his partner to arrive.
Instead of making a fuss about it, you nodded your head all while you continued to walk along the path so he wouldn’t know that you were staring. You accepted that maybe this wasn’t meant to be, and so instead of turning to go around the park a couple more times, you walked towards the entrance.
“Hey miss!” A light jog can be heard behind you.
You turn around, attracted to the sound and the sound that was addressing to you.
The guy with the undercut that sat under the shade. Was now the same guy who was face to face with you—only a couple feet in front of you.
“Fuck, I thought I’d have more time to think about what I was going to say.” You catch his mutter. “My names Levi. I noticed that you’d stare at me every time you took a walk here.”
Your face burns red. “I thought it was weird. But when I saw you do nothing but stare, so I became content with it.”
He lets out a frustrated sigh when nothing was said back to him. Just you and your dumbfounded face. He didn’t know what he was doing, he wasn’t confident in his skills of flirting, but yet, he persisted. “Look, I’m not really good at this, so let me make this short and simple. I bought you tea.” He points to where he sat, and sure enough the tea was still sitting next to his.
“I know it’s not smart to take things from strangers, but there’s something about you.” If possible your face reddens even more.
“If you’re not going to talk at least take the tea. I can save it for later, and we can go back to the tea shop to get another one.” He awkwardly sticks his pretty hands out for you to take.
This could be the sign that you were looking for, and so you take a leap of faith.
You place your hands in his, and you let him guide you back under the shade.
“My name’s Y/N.”
With matching shy and goofy grins, the two of you walk back to the place where he would catch you staring, and he would stare discreetly back too.
❥ Nights out with your work friends were always the one thing you looked forward for on Fridays. You don’t have to worry about working the next day, or the day after.
It seemed like everything was going as planned. A karaoke room reserved for the six of you, everyone participating in the imaginary singing contest that was being held, the winner getting an imaginary one million cash prize, and the food, as well as the booze, was filling up all your stomachs.
Until it wasn’t.
“It’s alright guys, just make sure she gets home safe, and she doesn’t throw up anymore.” Worry etches on your face, you peak into the car and your sick friend was slump over the window, with the support of your other friend—who was rubbing her back.
They all say their quick goodbyes and tell you to be safe as the uber pulls out onto the main road, along with the owner of the karaoke spot, panicking about the vomit that was marinating the floor.
You were now alone.
Just hitting 1 am in the morning, you were now aware that you were standing under lamp spots that provided very limited light.
You knew Levi would be grumpy if you woke him up. With his luck, he’d be able to get at least four hours of sleep, but you also knew he’d be upset at you if he found out if you were transporting back home all by yourself.
After a couple of minutes, conflicted in your situation, you decide to call your boyfriend, Levi.
“Hey baby. I know it’s really late, but everyone left. Is it alright if you pick me up? I’m only about ten minutes away?” You chew on your thumb, nervously.
With no reply, you took it as a sign as annoyance. “I’m sorry Levi, I know I should’ve went—“
He cuts you off mid sentence, surprising you. “You don’t have to apologize, brat.”
“I’d rather you call me to pick you up late at night, than for you to try to get home, all alone.” You hear him get out of bed, sheets dancing as he moves out of them. “Also, who are your friends? Aren’t they supposed to make sure that you get home safe?”
“One of them got sick.” You let out a sigh remembering the different emotions everyone went through. “The uber that pulled up only had four open seats left.” You explained to him.
“I thought there were six of you.” You hear his car unlock, and the car door closing a few seconds later.
“One of my coworkers left an hour ago.”
He lets out an annoyed sigh after hearing where your coworkers were. “You’re gonna stay on call until I get to you. There’s no good reason why you should be by yourself at night baby.”
“I know. If I knew that tonight was going to end up this way, I would’ve planned way more.” You kick your legs trying to busy your body.
“Or just get new friends.” He teases.
You roll your eyes, smiling. “Maybe I should.”
Somehow, his car got to you within six minutes, instead of ten.
As he rolls down the window, and you capture his pretty face, you can’t help the giddy feeling you always get when you see him.
You get into the car, and buckle up. “Have I ever told you that I love you?” Trying to hide his shy smile, he looks away and coughs.
“I’m glad that you’re with me now, and not with your inconsiderate friends.” You smile at his words knowing that that was his way of saying I love you back.
❥ ”Ugh I know! I haven’t ate some in a while.”
You were engaged with a phone call with your friend. The call was at least reaching twenty minutes old, and you just so happened to be in the same room as Levi.
Who was trying to do his work.
“I think it’s been-“ You try to calculate in your head. “Two months?”
“I’ve actually been craving for it recently.” You twirl the ends of your hair standing weirdly leaning on the wall.
Ever since you walked into where Levi does his work, which was ten minutes ago, his progress had slowed due to the constant and loud replies that your friend received.
“No, I used to—“ A small object hits your shoulder. “What the hell!”
You turn to face your boyfriend, giving you looks that could kill you. “Would it hurt to keep it down. Or at least go to another room?”
“Are you okay?” Your concerned friend asks on the other side of the line.
“Hold on girl. My boyfriend wants attention from me. Give me two minutes.” You mute yourself on call.
“Yes, it would hurt if I quieted down a bit. You should know.” You reference to the time you gave him the silent treatment for not even a full five hours, and he was bothering you every second, minute, and hour.
Knowing that you weren’t wrong, he scoffs. “What were you guys talking about anyways?”
Forgetting the fact that your boyfriend threw a pen at you, you get excited immediately. “Oh this one place that sells the best pastries! I haven’t had them in a while and—"
You squint your eyes at him, thinking you caught him in his little scheme. “Actually, I was talking to my friend about this bakery not my boyfriend.”
His eyebrows slightly rise, amused, as he watches you unmute the call, bringing the conversation to your right ear, and walk out the room.
You find yourself in the kitchen now, ready to continue on the conversation, letting Levi to finish up his work.
“I’m sorry about that. My boyfriend—who doesn’t know how to have fun.” You said that loud and clear and on purpose for him to hear. “But anyways it’s these little buns called warm bears because they feel warm, as if someone was giving you a bear hug.”
You pause to hear your friend’s question. “No, I just made that up. But they’re really called warm bears.”
The next day, after a long day of work, you celebrate quietly as the keys to open up to the apartment your shared with your boyfriend.
You mindfully place your work bag where it belongs, and take your shoes off by the door, knowing how Levi gets on you for the lack of tidiness you have compared to him. You walk past the living room, and head towards the kitchen, your stomach ready to eat.
But before you could check out the fridge, a familiar looking box, with new, updated designs on them, was sitting patiently to be open. Attached was on the top was a little sticky note on it with Levi’s handwriting.
‘For you brat, Levi.’
You open the box, and there, the aroma and the sight of warm bears stare right back at you.
Unlike all the other times, it wasn’t the warm pastries that warmed you up, but rather the little act of love your boyfriend continuously pulls off.
❥ You felt awkward watching your friend show PDA with her new boyfriend. Is this how they all felt when you would invite Levi to tag along? Well, it’s not like Levi was one to be into extreme PDA. Anything that involved making out, sensual eye contact, dirty innuendos, or anything that should be kept private wasn’t his thing. He could handle hand-holding, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear, having you walk inside of the sideway—to put it simple, the softer kind of PDA.
You were sat at a food court sitting across your friend, trying to get some rest from the two hours of walking around the mall. What you thought was just going to be you and her, turned out a thirdwheel trip for you.
So as you watch your friend maul her boyfriend’s face off in front of you, you couldn’t help but feel slightly embarrassed.
So naturally to avoid letting your friend know that you were repulsed, even though there was no way she would notice given the fact that she had her face smushed against his, you go and text your boyfriend.
Hey babe. You desperately wait for his reply. And in an instant your phone goes off.
Hi sweetheart. You smile, completely forgetting—what you consider—live porn in front of you.
Your fingers excitedly type back, I’m really bored.
Bored? I’d be annoyed if my friend who asked me to hang out with her was making out with her boyfriend.
Confused on how he guessed right with the lack of information that you gave him, you look around the area for his figure.
Where are you? You text him, after failing to do so.
You wait for his reply, that now suddenly stopped die off. You kissed your teeth, closing the app, to scroll endlessly on social media. Eager to ignore the third wheel feeling, you wanted to see people’s stories. Unfortunately, your face cringes, seeing that the first post you see, was the same exact friend who was making out in front of you.
You let out a defeated sigh, close the app, and turn your phone off. Only to gaze off into the sidewalk wondering where your boyfriend could be.
A pair of shoes shows up in your field of vision. But too involved with your daydreaming, and your goal of avoiding at looking at your friend who was now flirting shamelessly with her boyfriend, you ignore whoever stopped in front of you.
“Are you just gonna stare off into oblivion or are you going to take my hand?” Your head snaps to Levi.
Now filling your heart up with relief, you take his hand, and stand up to greet him with a tight hug. Unlike the couple across from the two of you, you gave Levi a quick kiss on the cheek as a little thank you, and he gives a small smile.
This gets your friend and her partner to look at the two of you.
“What are you doing here?”
“Well, I was with one of my friends who wanted to buy something for their partner.” He points to his friend, you recognize them as Hange, who in return waves back with a gigantic smile. “And I just so happened to see you.”
“Perfect timing.” Your friend’s boyfriend chimes in. “That means we won’t need to get you home.”
Your friend who was a little embarrassed by his comment hits his thigh. “Babe you don’t say things like that.”
“It’s alright, we can drop her off.” She says to Levi, with a polite smile.
With a deadpan, Levi looks at the boyfriend, and it’s clear that he already made the decision that he doesn’t like him. “No it’s alright. Thanks for considering it though.” He says only to your friend.
“Just remember for future reference.” He glares at the guy next to her. “If your girlfriend was hanging out with me and Y/N. She wouldn’t need to worry about her ride bailing on her, whether you show up or not.”
Levi turns back to you, his expression now soft, and his hand grabs yours. “Let’s call it a day then darling.”
And with that, he walks off—not wasting another second talking with a guy who couldn’t even do the bare minimum—with you towards his friend, backs now turned to the couple as he whispers, “she deserves way better than that guy.”
You giggle, agreeing with his statement.
❥ “I promise I’m not going to fall.”
There you stood confidently a few feet from the floor. You so stubbornly wanted to grab a book that was inconveniently stored at the very top of a bookshelf in Levi’s office. Your arms were stretched out to its maximum length, but with no use, you barely touched the base shelf that the book sat on.
“Hold on.” Only looking up at the book that was calling your name. “I can grab it I swear!” Levi was next to you, worried that you could fall at any moment.
I mean look at you. On your toes of the highest step of the stool, with one leg trying to push you to somehow go higher.
“Babe you can seriously get hurt.” His arms were angled in a way where you would fall bridal style in his arms if you were to fall.
“Let me get the damn book for you.” His words filled with stress.
He was stressed even more when he sees you, still on your toes, but now jumping like it was going to help you at all. Miraculously, it was working. You managed to swipe the book your way, and with each small jump and your hand swiping continuously, it inched towards you.
You feel a smile grow on your face, knowing that you could prove that you could do it yourself. As the book got closer to the edge, where you could grab it, you swear you felt like you could conquer the world. You were almost there!
Yes! The feeling of accomplishing something so small made you feel good.
And then you landed wrong.
Eyes now wide, pride now spilling out from you, you feel your body slowly pull towards the ground. You swipe at the air, hoping that you could grab on to something, but of course it was too late.
You were about to hit the ground.
Twenty minutes later, here you two are at the hospital getting both your injuries checked out. The whole car ride you couldn’t even look at Levi. Not because you were scared that he was going to crash into something, because he did hit his head when you landed on him. But at the fact that he was silent the whole car ride not even bothering to hum in response.
Seeing an ice pack on his head, and your foot naked—for the doctor to check out—while you sat on the hospital bed. You knew you fucked up big time.
Instead of admitting to your mistake to your concussed boyfriend, you instead let the pride sit in your chest, and wear your head high.
“Babe, why would try and catch me?”
Levi looks slowly to you, as he sits next to you on another hospital bed. The two of you looking hopelessly.
“I’m asking myself the same exact thing.” His face cringes after finishing off his sentence.
Of course now fully observing him, your pride shamefully hides somewhere in you. Feeling a bit foolish at the situation you got you and your ever so loving boyfriend in. Over a damn book too.
“Don’t give me that look.” He says. He adjusts his position, facing the ceiling, and he closes his eyes
“You look pitiful.”
Scratch that. It looks like your pride was starting to show itself again. “Alright then. As soon as I start to say my wrongs, you want to comment on how sad I look.”
He doesn’t reply for a couple of seconds. Letting his beating head calm down, and his eyes open slowly. He looks back at you, lips in a pout and your arms across your chest.
“That’s not what I meant brat.” He hisses at the sentence.
“I meant you shouldn’t apologize, because no matter what the outcome was going to be, I was going to be right beside you the whole entire time.” Again he moves his head back to face the ceiling.
“You did alright trying to get the book.” You almost laughed at his stubborn semi compliment. “But next time. Let me do it.”
“So what I'm hearing is that you’ll be there for me through any life crisis that I go through.”
“That we go through. Also getting a book is not a life crisis. But you know what is? Hearing any more talking. Now shut up.” He cringes again turning away from you.
You smile at his grumpiness.
“I love you too.” You whisper just loud enough for him to hear.
What he was able to hide from you was a big fond smile that matched yours.
In the end, whether Levi had enough or ran out of patience with you, he knew that you were made for him. Even when life threw constant obstacles at you, none of it mattered, because what truly mattered to him was the fact that he was with you to experience it all together.
As well as the next lifetime, and the next, and the next…
“I have to cancel the date.”
The words left your lips about half a second after Daisy had picked up the phone with a cheery ‘what’s up?’, frantic and panicked, but no less true.
You had to cancel the date.
There was nothing rational about that decision, you were aware.
You were excited, you had gone over how Steve was the epitome of perfection with just hints of imperfections which he let you see because he was just that kind of perfect, how he was gentle and true and wore his heart on his sleeve and flirted with you in ways that should be illegal and were prove enough that he wanted you, the way you touched, a gentle whisper of affection--- you recalled all this with painful and tingling clarity and rationally you knew it was just the right time to move forward and that if you chickened out of the date you had both been waiting and building towards for for so long, you’d regret it and you might never get another shot.
And still, you knew it deep in your core, with an ugly acute feeling of all-consuming dread: you had to call the dinner off.
“What are you even--- wait, you have a date?! With Steve?!” Daisy nearly screeched at the other end of the line and you bit down on your painted lower lip, eyes squeezing shut at the inevitable storm coming. Or perhaps, an incoming earthquake; har fucking har.
Daisy’s surprise was anything but unexpected; because you not having told her about Steve having asked you out until this very moment had been entirely intentional.
You hadn’t told her, because she would have assured you to no end that it was the best possible thing that could happen. And with that, your gut feeling would get all confused and you’d actually believe her. Now, your gut feeling – fighting fiercely the wild butterflies in your stomach at the memory of sparing with Steve, the memory of the light in his eyes, him catching you, your lips pressing to his cheek – was telling you the truth in a warning. That you needed to back off and stay friends with Steve, because otherwise you’d lose him.
He'd be kind if you changed your mind. He had said so; and if there was one thing Steve Rogers was, it was heart-wrenchingly kind and understanding.
Except he wouldn’t be, not this time, a sleazy voice whispered in the back of your head, causing the hairs at the back of your neck stand in cold horror. This time, his hurt and disappointment would be so profound he’d leave and you’d lose him. And on the other hand, if you went out with him, you would start your journey to the inevitable heartbreak and parting ways with him, because you were bound to mess up eventually.
What a beautiful apocalyptic catch-22.
It was almost funny and a part of you laughed sardonically at you having lost sight of what truly mattered, your career stepping down on the priority list enough to have you suddenly consider something as banal as losing a boy’s interest a catastrophic event; then again, Steve Rogers was quite an extraordinary ‘boy’.
He was the best damn man you had ever met, a walking green flag. And that was the very problem.
You had fallen for him, hard – that much was an undeniable fact. He seemed to like you too. And what you two had was absolutely wonderful; you had never connected with another human being at such level, be it level of trust or of affection. You were terrified to speak the L word, but you were agonizingly aware that it was what it was for you. What Steve was to you.
And if it was, somehow, the same for him, if you took that step into trying to build a romantic relationship, there was no coming back.
And since you were faithfully bound to fucking up somehow, it would perhaps – definitely – be better to stay friends.
These flirty friends, who had sparks of want in their eyes, touched awfully lot, lit alive at the slightest brush of his fingers on your skin, your dizzy mind creating images of his large hands gripping your thighs as his tongue would trail up to his sweet prize, long thick fingers entering you, hot breath fanning over your ear as his hands would hold you steady on your shaky legs threatening to give out with every time he’d thrust inside you, so deep your fingers could have never made the lust-filled dreams any justice as you muffled your cries into the pillow at night, needy and ashamed all the same, because Steve had been patient and you lusted after him like a horny teenager.
But you liked it this way. This way was solid.
Moving further was balancing on that ledge hundred stories high and leaning towards the void just to tempt fate.
Before Steve, you used to be safe. You used to be safe within the impenetrable walls, so meticulously built; and the worst thing was that Steve Rogers hadn’t bulldozered through those walls, no. He took them away slowly, patiently removing brick by brick, not leaving as much as rubble behind for you to desperately try to pick up and rebuilt them before it was too late. The only wall left was the one you were balancing on top of, the highest of them all.
And you were going to fall to your death.
The loud cry of your name made you flinch, tugging you back to reality where Daisy sighed, once more lamenting you hadn’t bothered to share the exciting news of Steve officially asking you out after you two had danced around each other for god-knew-how-many weeks now.
“He… he only asked me three days ago…” you muttered, cursing yourself for letting the few tears spill over, ruining your make-up which you put ridiculous amount of thought into, because you wished you looked beautiful to him, but not like you were trying too hard.
Not that it mattered; because you were about to cancel your date anyway.
Maybe you should say you were sick? No, that was stupid. Steve had seen you just fine maybe three hours ago and he could always ask FRIDAY.
“Well, I suppose I can forgive you for hoarding the information,” Daisy sighed again. “But there is no way you are cancelling that date. Why on Earth would you do that?”
Because! You wanted to cry out and stomp your foot, like a petulant child you might actually be.
But even petulant children had friends; someone they could trust and rely on.
“Because… everything could go wrong.”
“Like what?--- No, wait, don’t answer that. Let me speak. And stop pacing, sit down on your ass and listen,” Daisy said, the firmness in her voice actually making you freeze mid-step, brief horror at how well she knew you striking you and for a moment, quieting the raging sea of emotion in your chest.
“Spectre, honey, I think you are panicking and you might have a reason to, but you actually don’t.”
You opened you mouth to contradict her, trying to gather your thoughts enough to speak few words to make her understand, but she was faster.
“Uh-huh, nope, I’m talking. With all the love I have for you, I gotta say that if you called me two months ago like this, I would be the one panicking, thinking someone died,” Daisy said matter-of-factly, bewilderment and guilt biting at your gut. Some friend you were, if that was how she felt. “Do not take this as an insult or an opportunity to beat yourself over that, that is so not the point I’m making. My point is that you call me. Almost on the regular. We text. You’re less guarded, you sound the happiest I have ever seen and heard you, truly happy, and you’re--- I’m sorry, but you glow when you talk about Steve. He’s good for you, he’s good to you and he’s exactly what you deserve in a man.”
You gulped, listening intently against your best judgement – because this was exactly why you hadn’t told Daisy before, because she would put all these ideas in your head, about how… you needed to grip this chance and never let go, because this could be something beautiful and Steve hadn’t given you a single reason to be afraid.
She was right, of course – but that was part of the problem.
You cleared your throat, blindly and carefully sweeping away the rivers of tears that had run down your cheeks.
“That’s the problem, Daisy. I don’t want to fuck this up. Steve is… everything and we are so good like this. We-“
“No, wait one more second. I’m gonna take a guess, okay? One teeny tiny guess, ‘cause I live to gamble. I think that whether you realize it or not, you still doubt he likes you. That he could love you – and believe me, you are wrong, because from what I heard and saw, that guy had it bad for you for a while,” she hummed, and you could hear the smug satisfied half-grin that had formed on her lips, “but my point is, another part of you is very much aware of his feelings.”
“I-“
“Because you see people. You have to, because that’s how you stay alive. That’s how we stay alive. We have shitty pasts behind us, Spectre. We do. We have these… mental scars or whatever, shit we carry with us, and we were taught the hard way not to trust, let alone to believe that someone genuinely cares. I love you, but you even more than me-“
“You never seemed to have any problems with this,” you argued. “You care, you open your heart so easily, always have, Coulson even said so-“
“Well that’s not entirely true and is not the point. My point is, that you don’t trust and open up easily, but you did it for Steve. And you chose pretty well. I mean… you have the epitome of justice and virtue to trust, talk about bagging the real prize.”
You couldn’t but snort through your tears, Daisy’s wittiness and ability to weave the truth into hilarious string of words getting to you, deflating the enormous weight sitting on your chest.
“But finally, what I wanna say is that… the fact you call me, you called me now, that you’re letting your guard down, for him the most, I believe… it’s because you know. There’s a part of you, very clever part, that recognizes and believes that he is in love with you too and that’s why you can afford to trust him and you just wanted to hear it from me, because you know that part is right. And that part knows that if you let him, he’s going to show you just how much.”
In the stunned silence that followed, your mind whirled wildly, irrationally circling around the thought of whether Daisy meant how much you could trust Steve or how much he… loved you.
Why was your ribcage suddenly so full and so light at once, your heart racing like mad and dancing like the spots in front of your eyes--- breathe, dammit.
You did. In and out. Then again. As your chest rose and fell shakily, Daisy’s voice sounded as if you were submerged and her voice was just above the water surface.
“You okay there, Champ?”
You burst into a watery laughter, your hand flying over your mouth to muffle the godawful sound.
“Yeah, no. I’m… Daisy, he’s so---- I guess I…” you trailed off, the realization of just how truthful her words were causing your hands to tremble and nearly drop your damn phone.
You.
An agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.
An ally to the Avengers.
Folding like a house of cards because of a date and because a guy might like her.
God, you were pathetic--
But Steve Rogers sure was worthy of being pathetic for.
And being brave for.
But how much bravery could you truly muster up?
“You’re right. I… I should go and get my shit together before he arrives. If the date goes wrong, well, I can just-“
-die, move to another country, or another planet, just disappear, become but a ghost-
“-oh my god. I should project.”
“…what?”
You laughed, the idea completely absurd but also rather brilliant, a shot of relief and fresh panic into your veins.
“I mean, it’s not a long-term solution, but if I project to our date, then I can snap back if something goes wrong-“
“NO. Spectre, no. You are not letting your spectre go on the date instead of you-“ Daisy all but spitted out, so clearly mad and disappointed and perhaps just a tad amused that you couldn’t but instantly discard the idea which you weren’t sure you had been seriously considering in the first place.
“But--- yeah, okay, I know. It’s just… I’m really… embarrassingly worried,” you whined at last, an absurdly sweet coo sounding at the other end of the line in response, making you roll your eyes and snort.
God bless Daisy, she really was one of the best humans and Inhumans walking the Earth.
There was a lot of feelings stuffed into your tight ribcage, most of them concerning Steve Rogers, but there was an undeniable large part that was overflowing with love for your friend.
“Thank you, Daisy. Really. I… I’m sorry I-“
“If you plan to finish that sentence with ‘bothered you’, I’m gonna send an earthquake your way,” she threatened.
You snapped your mouth shut, biting your tongue hard enough for it to actually hurt, even as some distant part of your brain cheered at the idea, because well, an earthquake surely would be a valid excuse to cancel—
But suddenly, for all the mess in your head, you felt such a sharp pang in your chest at the prospect of not seeing Steve, potentially not kissing Steve, not to bask in his warmth and proximity and the light of his smile and brilliantly cerulean irises with the most adorable speckle of green-- that you knew there was no doubt left that you might actually die unless you did go to the dinner.
You gulped.
“--I’m sorry I stole your time and didn’t tell you earlier,” you said instead, earning a hum.
“Uh huh. Good. Now off you go. Make him fall on his glorious ass when he sees you, doll, and make out with him against door. And please, do everything I would do and more. See you!” Daisy cheered, ending the call before you could retort, causing you chuckle breathlessly, glancing towards the ceiling and taking a deep steadying breath.
Your nerves were still buzzing, but when you StarkWatch did, announcing that you had last two minutes before the designated date time, you jumped to your feet and rushed to the bathroom to assess the damage. You barely made it there when a knock sounded from the door, making you curse in such an unladylike manner that Steve might actually call off the date if he heard you.
Ignoring it despite everything inside you pulling you towards the door, you glanced into the mirror, realizing two fundamental facts:
One, your make-up held admiringly well despite your tears, because you had had a hunch you might cry and had used water-proof products and thus you didn’t need to fix anything.
Two, the one thing that needed fixing you had no chance to remedy; the red of your teary eyes. There was no universe in which Steve wouldn’t notice that.
And if he’d notice, he’d want to know.
And if he’d look at you the way he excelled at, that soft caring inquiring gaze that should be listed as an illegal interrogation technique right next to if not above waterboarding, you’d fold and spill your heart and inevitably chase him away-
Another knock, still gentle, but louder this time.
You whined, hands curling into fists tight enough to leave blood-red moons in your palms and headed towards the door, ironically unable to supress the fluttery feeling in your stomach as you released the tension in your hands in order to smoothen your dress and fluff up your hair.
The giddy feeling only grew exponentially as you threw the door open, your pulse skyrocketing through the roof despite the roof being over twenty stories higher.
Two things welcomed you; a gentle smile threaded with genuine excitement and a bouquet of tulips of various colours with soft tones of baby breath weaved through.
It was perfect; Steve was perfect.
And you’d swear, like many times before in secret, that he was the most handsome man in the whole universe.
However, as you allowed yourself look him over for a while, appreciating his casually fluffed up hair, the width of his shoulders and the lovely blue button-up almost hidden by the large bouquet, the well-fitting black slacks and shiny shoes, your gaze lingering on its way back up, his warm smile had already slipped, replaced by concerned gaze with the slightest hints of panic.
“What happened?”
“Nothing!” you blurted out, stepping to side to let him in, mentally counting to three for two different reasons.
One, to keep your tears at bay for at least a while longer despite the gentle inquiry in Steve’s eye. Two, to still your rapidly beating heart which nearly gave out at Steve’s words, because they might as well be a battle cry, a who hurt you and who do I need to kill written between the lines.
In a very Steve Rogers fashion, he responded to your silent invite and walked in.
And in a very Steve Rogers fashion, he did not let you off the hook easily.
Not that you blamed him; you did not sound convincing even to your ears.
“Nothing you need to worry about,” you elaborated, not having to force the smile to your lips as you met his gaze. “Nothing serious. I swear.”
“Alright…” He eyed you, still suspicious and cautious, probably because of the number of times you said the word ‘nothing’. “But if you’d rather postpone… or cancel-“
“No, not at all-“
“Or if you just want to stay in and order take-out, or cook together… or I could cook. I got groceries delivered just in case.”
“Oh?”
Your voice rose at least an octave, your hand slamming the door behind him with a little too much force.
Hysteria and self-loathing crept in like first days of winter, digging its icy claws into your stomach, effectively stunning the butterflies having been fluttering its wings there, only sinking deeper as Steve’s gaze flickered to the violently slammed door and back to your face, his eyes searching now, worried.
Of course they were; of course he was.
Of course he had had groceries delivered just in case.
Of fucking course.
Tears of humiliation stung in your eyes, but you didn’t have the heart nor the energy to be angry with him for the remark or his actions.
Just ashamed.
Or maybe a little angry too.
The rest of the statement, ‘just in case you freaked out’ was so clearly audible even if left unsaid that you wanted to tuck yourself into bed and never leave.
Hearing those words cut so damn deep – but could you really blame Steve for already knowing you so well? Could you really blame him for thinking you were an idiot, a nervous wreck of a weakling, who couldn’t even handle going out with him, when he was apparently right?
Could you really blame him for being such a sweetheart to have been prepared for that scenario?
In some ways, it was so damn thoughtful of him; and yet, it burned down your throat like a shot of absinth. It hurt like being shot through both thighs; you’d know.
And you were being ungrateful, you were aware of as much. You were being such an ungrateful bitch, for despising him for that assumption, as right as it was, and for despising Daisy for giving you hope--- because yes, maybe Steve was on his way to love you.
But he didn’t love you right.
You should be so thankful that he was so considerate and patient, but the idea of him seeing you like nothing a pathetic thing to handle in satin gloves only, a thing so fragile it might break if someone breathed on it, made you sick to your stomach with utter disappointment. In him. In you. In that stupid thing called love.
But could you really blame anyone else but yourself? Could you-
“Yeah, well,” Steve muttered, a tinge of pink in hischeeks as he shrugged, gently pulling your focus back to him. “Our job is the way it is. If the reservation fell through because of an emergency meeting or a mission making us late, if either of us had to act as a substitute agent, if anyone needed back-up… I wanted to have a plan B. That is if that were enough for you.”
Your head snapped up, your rapidly spiralling mind coming to a screeching halt, the claws in your gut digging deeper and tearing; until they finally released you.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh my god.
You were such an idiot.
Indeed, a pathetic, hopeless case of an idiot and you knew, you knew you should have known better, should have tried to cut off the spiral of self-conscious thought right at the start using one of the many techniques you had been taught in therapy, but you hadn’t and you had misread it all, again.
Steve did not think you were pathetic; you were actually aware of that. Steve had, in fact, told you were the furthest thing from that, even as you had broken down in front of him at a damn animal shelter of all places.
He was just being practical. And thoughtful. Again.
Of course he fucking was. Brilliant, brilliant, kind Steve, who looked at you as if he’d do anything to make this work, because you mattered that much to him.
Mattered enough for him to put together a back-up plan just in case, if it were enough for you; and meanwhile all you had done was to call your friend to cry on her shoulder and jumped to conclusions when Steve showed up his marvellous strategizing tendencies.
What that said about your momentary problem-solving skills you did not want to think about, mainly because you could not afford to mess this up any more than it already was and so you were trying to stop yourself from spiralling, rather than jump deeper down the vortex of anxiety and self-loathing.
You repeated your brilliant response.
“Oh.”
“It’s still an option even if you’d rather just stay in,” Steve continued, seemingly oblivious to your inner turmoil. “I made a reservation for a room so we wouldn’t have anyone staring, but… if you’d rather not go out, that’s fine.”
That’s fine, he said.
It was not.
Because now you felt like a real idiot.
“No! I mean… it would be a shame for the reservation to go to waste!” It would be a shame if your brilliant planning which counted in just about every variable was ruined just because- “I’m just a ginormous-”
You swallowed the curse upon something flashing in Steve’s eye, gulping instead; and sighing so deeply that your soul might have actually left your body.
Closing your eyes, you took a steadying breath, feeling your fingers twitch as you resisted the urge to dig your nails into your palms again. Breathe. In. Hold. Out. Hold. In…
You released the air from your lungs slowly, gaze finding Steve’s as he watched you with cautious warmth, the tulips still in his hand, hauled to one side as his free hand was limply by his side; limply except for the tight fist, attracting your gaze like a magnet, the prove of his own nerves; an oasis in the lonely desert of anxiety.
He, too, wasn’t at ease, for whichever reason. That was almost as important as the fact that you knew in your gut and heart alike that the source of the unease wasn’t you – not in the sense that would result in your heartbreak, even as the wicked voices of your past whispered about the opposite.
Do not apologize for your shortcoming stemming from your trauma unless completely necessary. Thank people for accepting them, accepting you as you are, you reminded yourself, even as you quite literally had to bite your tongue to keep the automatic apology unspoken.
You forced your gaze to return to Steve’s face, a smile, however small and shy, spreading on your lips with little effort.
“I--- thank you. For being thoughtful. I… really appreciate it,” you said, a lopsided smile mirroring your own in size curling Steve’s lips sweetly. “I know this sounds silly, but… can we maybe start this over? I mean… I don’t mean---- you know what, forget-“
Steve stepped forward so fast you startled, drawing in a quick breath and silencing your doubts in an instant. As the flowers were suddenly the only thing putting distance between you, you had to crane your neck slightly as to hold his gaze, a soft greeting on his lips.
“Hi.”
He smiled wider, eyes roaming over you warmly and appreciatively, as if he was only truly seeing you in your outfit and make-up for the first time tonight and was not at all being subtle about liking what he was seeing. Your heart picked up its pace and seared all at once, heat rushing up your cheeks.
“You look beautiful. These are for you.”
You accepted the flowers with a shaky smile, a tingle rushing through your nerves as Steve’s fingers brushed yours.
“Thank you. They’re gorgeous… and you look very handsome. Blue always suits you,” you said, smile widening at the pleased spark in Steve’s eye, lightning all the more as you carefully stood on your tiptoes and pressed the briefest kiss to his cheek. “Thank you for giving me this. And for having a back-up plan.”
One corner of his lips rose higher.
“Well, they did use to call me a man with a plan… I might have not liked it, but that doesn’t mean they got it wrong. Can’t have an emergency get in the way if this might be my only shot to win over a girl like you. … a woman like you.”
The slip of his tongue felt like a caress – it was as if the simple gesture of a kiss to his cheek affected him and he really, really cared about all this. About you.
And that felt good.
It felt right.
“It wouldn’t have been,” you replied, all your willpower poured into turning away from Steve and moving to the counter to put the bouquet to a large glass since you had never had a need for a vase before. “Shall we?”
Steve nodded, almost absently as he watched your every move, including the steps you took back to him, way too close; but you couldn’t help it. With your nerves settled just a bit, with his large yet soothing presence washing over you like a gentle tidal wave, you felt yourself being pulled into his orbit, never feeling close enough.
“We shall… but are you sure you want to go to the resta-“
“Are you trying to shoot yourself in the foot here, Steve?” you teased him lightly, as if you hadn’t been doing exactly that ever since before you had talked to Daisy and cried in the process. “I’d love to go out. I…”
Steve tilted his head slightly, his intent gaze seeing straight into your soul; and making it feel like there was nothing wrong with it, because he didn’t see anything wrong. He only wished to understand; and you’d let him, because he wouldn’t judge. He never did. Not when it was you.
You felt your shoulders relax, your smile growing genuine.
“I’m just really nervous, that’s all. I promise.”
“So am I,” he said.
And you would have questioned it. Months ago, you would have called bull.
But months ago, you also forbade yourself from looking. From seeing the vulnerability behind Steve’s gaze, the barely audible but undeniably present pain of an old wound.
It dawned to you just how profound his truth behind his statement about this being the only chance he’d get with you had been.
How it wasn’t just about you giving him that chance; it was the circumstance too.
Two feet from you stood a man who once allowed himself to believe he might get a happy ending, the second great war at the brink of an end, only to miss out on seventy years of potential happiness.
And he stood there with his heart on his sleeve, hopes in his soul and a brilliant mind that left nothing to chance; he stood there and was offering all of that to you.
The tears stinging in your eyes had nothing to do with your stupid tendencies this time. The tender ache in your heart had nothing to do with messed up pasts and had everything to do with admiration and affection and faith.
Your hands twitched with the urge to grab Steve’s gorgeous face and kiss him so deep you’d pour all the love undeniably thrumming in your heart into his very being and make him feel it in his very bones.
You took a shuddery breath, your smile a little broken at its edges; but the sheer determination to make this, whatever this thing with Steve could be, work, was all-consuming, even as it stood on a shaky ground of your own insecurities.
“Well, you’re handling it about million times better than I do,” you whispered, less humour than you’d wish in your words.
Steve mirrored your smile, hand twitching just a bit as if just he understood you heard the unspoken words behind his admission; and yet, he shrugged as if he wasn’t tossing away the weight of missed chances.
“Thanks, but I feel like Bucky would disagree, seeing me ordering groceries for three different meals just in case and looking up language of flowers in respective colours.”
There was beautiful, irresistible tinge of pink in his cheeks and your heart raced, something in your mind whispering of showing him yours since he’d showed you his. That or really just going for it and kissing him senseless.
“Still so much better than me. I… I do have a history of shooting myself in the foot… figuratively. Case on point,” you chucked self-deprecatingly as you gestured vaguely to your slightly red eyes in ways of explanation, Steve’s gaze turning impossibly soft. “And I know you said no pressure, but…”
“Hey, I meant it. Still do,” he whispered, taking half a step closer.
The woodsy notes of his cologne tickled your nostrils, warmth spreading all over your skin, feet twitching to erase the last distance and if not kiss him, then at least hold him; or let yourself be held in his ever-inviting embrace.
“I know. That’s… part of the problem, actually.” His eyebrow arched slightly, prompting you to explain. “I believe you. I trust you. I know how banal that sounds, but it’s not. And it’s one of the reasons why everything in me screams yes pressure. I just… really, really don’t want to mess this up, Steve. Because, well… this could be myonly shot with a guy like you.”
You could almost hear the wheels in his head whirling madly as you echoed his earlier words, processing your shy admission; but the one thing that appeared in his expressions almost, almost seemed like pride. Honour, even.
And a smile. Such a soft, soft smile as his hand carefully grasped yours.
“It wouldn’t have been,” he echoed your earlier words. “But… is there anything I can do to make it easier? More comfortable?”
You huffed a breathless laugh despite yourself as a single tear spilled over, a tight-lipped smile the only thing stopping you from shouting at heavens. Truly, you could kiss Steve for such sweet offer, except you also wanted to smack him a bit, because how was this man real?
He squeezed your hand reassuringly even in the face of your apparent insanity.
“A bit of a catch 22, Steve. You offering to make it better is… sweet and making it worse all at once. As in… yes pressure.”
“Right… should I act like a jerk, then?” he offered light-heartedly. “I mean, I have it on good authority I can be one-”
You laughed again, something in your chest humming with uncontainable warmth and light. “Oh I heard about that. I can attest to that.”
His smile widened, teasing and so painfully beautiful that you felt your heart spasm in your chest – the conversation putting you further on edge as well as offering comfort. It was a strange duality to wrap your head around; much like with just about everything when it came to Steve.
Pressured and freer to be and feel than you had ever felt; a terrifying step you couldn’t wait to make; wishing to jump off the ledge just to feel the exhilaration of a free fall and fumbling with the parachute before the severity of the impact Steve had on your life could kill you.
So was there something that could silence the anxious part of the duality for just a moment, just so you didn’t sabotage something beautiful before it could start? Before you’d repay Steve’s sincerity and vulnerability with shutting yourself off?
Held in the soft bonds of his cerulean gaze, his gentle hand still keeping yours, less than two feet apart, so close you could feel gravity pulling you towards him, it took a shocking amount of willpower not to grasp his other hand and bring it to your lips to show your appreciation, not to place it on your cheek just so you could cradle his, stand on your tiptoes and press your lips to his, something you had been longing to do for what might as well be an eternity and half.
You might drop dead right here if you spent another minute without learning how soft his lips were, without tasting that sunshine-like smile. Without gifting yourself one single undeniable proof that this truly was right a proof beyond your foolish heart or Daisy’s words or Steve’s proximity.
Eyes raking over him again, over the sharp cut of his jaw, the slope of his nose, the gentle light in his eyes – an artist and a piece of art in one – the idea took you by surprise; insane, brilliant and absurd. And yet…
“I… there is actually something,” you said, the words alone having your heart startle in your ribcage, much like the two tiny steps you took to stand chest to chest with him, feeling the heat radiating off of his large body.
“Name it.”
You could tell his brain was racing, having probably come to the conclusion that you were about to ask for a hug if his sweet but pressure-free smile was anything to go by, his encouraging squeeze to your hand.
God if he only knew.
You took a steadying breath, only resulting in your heart stumbling further, a breathless whisper on your parted lips.
“’Kay.”
Acting before you could change your mind, you placed your palm on Steve’s shoulder, rising to your tiptoes to bring yourself closer; and finally erased the last distance between you.
You could hear the sharp inhale just before your lips pressed to his, but by then, it was too late to back out.
And the moment your lips met, there was no space in your head for regrets; not an inch of your mind Steve didn’t occupy. The slightest shift of muscles of his arm under your palm, the brush of his warm hand over your hip; the sweet taste of his lips, the gentlest pressure against your mouth, his nose bumping yours as you did not quite coordinate; the heat and exhilaration rushing down your spine, the twitch of Steve’s fingers around your hand.
The tickle of his breath as you reluctantly retreated, cheeks burning, heartbeat pulsing in every single cell of your body, your gaze eagerly drinking in the sight of Steve’s eyes opening slowly, the gorgeous twinkle of something so delightfully alive sending your stomach fluttering, his hand remaining on your hip as if to ground you. To sooth the part of your that chased your frantic heart with worries if you had just terribly overstepped, the part so insistently nudging at your conscience despite the perfectly clear memory of how Steve responded to your semi-solicited attack on his perfect lips.
The corners of those perfect lips curled up, his voice a little husky as he observed you with silent wonder.
“I like the way you think.”
“Yeah? ‘Cause… I know this is what usually comes at the end of a date-”
You were silenced by the most beautiful and effective way known to mankind, the most pleasant shiver tickling your belly as Steve’s lips captured yours again, your hand released in order for him to cradle your cheek and angle your face up just to steal all air from your lungs oh so sweetly.
Your hand slid to his nape, keeping him close, deep contentment rumbling in his chest brushing against yours, his hand flexing at your hip, eliciting a silent keen in the back of your throat.
God your head was spinning and perhaps it had a little something to do with the fact you probably needed oxygen at this point, but you could not bring yourself to care, not when Steve’s lips continued to dance against yours with gentle insistence.
When he did let up, you found yourself gripping his shirt at his side, not moving back half an inch more than it was strictly necessary to breathe; an indulgent inhale of everything that was Steve, eyes remaining closed to process the utter explosion of feeling and sensations in your chest.
You could still feel his smile, still taste it on your lips as your tongue darted out, a careful nudge to your nose as Steve stole the briefest peck from your mouth again, air catching in your throat.
He held you. He held you so deliciously close still, the heat radiating off his body soothing and enticing at once, his thumb drawing a small circle on your burning cheek.
“Wow. That’s… wow. Okay,” you rasped, delighting bubbling in your throat, fingers instinctively caressing Steve’s nape as he pressed his forehead to yours.
“Yeah.”
“I--- I’m very relaxed now.”
And you were. God you were. There was not a single thing in this world that had ever felt so incredibly right.
Steve chuckled gently and you dared to open your eyes, meeting his sparkling blues. “One way to say that, I suppose. You’re a genius, Firefly.”
Breath hitching at the soft nickname – an endearment really, one you still weren’t sure where it came from but had been and was now longing to hear it again when it sounded so tenderly on his lips – you couldn’t contain the foolish smile tugging insistently on your lips, rewarded by another, albeit brief, taste of Steve’s own.
“Don’t know about that…”
“I do,” Steve argued, fingertips gently running over your brow, pushing a strand of your hair away from your face. “Genius. Just one catch.”
You didn’t have the capacity to second guess yourself, the soft hoarseness of Steve’s voice and the mischief in his gaze way too distracting.
“And what’s that?”
Smile widening, his fingers slid under your chin instead, tipping your head further back as he drank from your lips again, squeezing your hip just enough to have you stifle a whimper at the rush of pure delight through your veins.
God you hoped he’d never stop kissing you-
“Don’t wanna stop kissin’ ya’,” he drawled before he was pulling you in again, your ribcage nearly bursting at its seams at the tinge of the Brooklyn accent that you had never heard to come out before.
Great minds, you thought distantly. For all your back-and-forths before, some of them which you enjoyed, you were immensely enjoying being on the same page right now.
Your hand sprawled on his side appreciatively, your smile mirroring his.
“No protests here. No issues whatsoever,” you muttered between the brief encounters of lips. “You said you had a plan B, didn’t you?”
It was that that had Steve sigh, his forehead gently knocking against your again, causing you to swallow a sigh of disappointment. As sweet as the proximity still was, his lips had been much sweeter.
Even as his fingers tracing the length of your arm softly, leaving tender heat in their wake, were taking a close second.
“Good…” he hummed, a flash of mischief in his eye. “But you deserve better. We can save plan B for when we actually need it. Sounds good?”
Asking a question when looking at you like that, he would get your yes to anything. You had a distant feeling in your gut he knew that.
“’Kay.”
“There’s always time after, right?”
He petted the sensitive skin above your collarbone when retreating – and again, you would have agreed to anything if he’d done that just one more time, looking at you from under his eyelashes, a lovely combination of boyish and downright wicked.
“Yeah.”
He grinned, leaving no option for you but to peck his lips one more time; giggles bubbled in your throat, sunshine coming from within your chest warming your bones, when he used that opportunity to grasp at your chin again and held you close for a while longer, muttering a breathy ‘now hold on a second’ straight into your mouth
You were going to miss your reservation at this rate.
You did not care.
“Okay,” Steve sighed, almost wistfully. “Let’s go.”
Obedient of your Captain, you stepped back on embarrassingly wobbly legs and reached for your jacket and moved to slip into it; only for Steve to grasp your hand, confiscating the jacket and pulling you in for another kiss, muffling your surprised laughter.
Only then, with a sweet May I?, he held out the garment for you, complimenting your looks once more as you silently nodded, feeling heat rushing to your cheeks at his gentlemanly ways, not at all minding that his touch lingered less than gentlemanly on your shoulder. You believed you indeed were a sight; lips swollen a bit from the numerous kisses exchanged, eyes wide, face glowing with a smile; the perfect mirror to Steve’s expression.
And as you stepped out of the door, you left most shadows behind, only an echo of anxiety following you, blending into giddy anticipation.
There were still pressures and expectations; but as Steve took your hand in his, interlacing your fingers, you couldn’t help but feel at peace, a gentle voice inside you whispering you were exactly where you were meant to be.
And that whatever path you were to walk, it was the right one.
tuna mayo ! miya osamu
chapter five – post shower surprise
22:46.
You stepped out of your foggy shower, and grabbed your towel. As you began to wipe leftover droplets of water off yourself, you couldn’t help but think about the events that had happened earlier in the day.
School wasn’t terrible today, as you only had two lectures, and–
You began to shake your head ‘no’, while continuing to dry yourself.
Oh, my apologies, not that early.
Right, at about 14:30 today, [L/N] [F/N] ate lunch at Onigiri Miya after Sakusa Kiyoomi had ditched her. The owner, Miya Osamu grabbed her plate from her table, and put it on the counter, while basically telling her to eat while conversing with him, so she wouldn’t be lonely. The best part? He asked her for her phone number before she left for work.
As you finally began to put your undergarments on, a small redness appeared on your face. Just the whole thought of it was making butterflies appear in your stomach. A feeling you haven’t felt since highschool.
Your mind eventually moved on from Osamu, and moved to work. Your eyebrows began to furrow, as it all came back to you.
To put it simply, the PR team for the MSBY Black Jackals decided to make a TikTok, essentially asking each member “Who would be the first to go to jail, and what would they be in for?”. You were a part of this video, due to being chosen to be the interviewer.
Earlier, 15:49.
“Do you all understand how this video is gonna go, or should I go over it once more?”
You were currently in the main gym, standing in front of all members of the team with a small microphone in your hand. You look to see everybody shaking their heads, giving you the ‘go ahead.’
“Great. I’ll give you guys some time to prepare your answers.” You turn to look at Meian, and speak again. “Meian, you’re first, alright?”
He gave you a thumbs up, and with that being said, the older members split into their own group, laughing about who they’re going to choose, Bokuto and Atsumu went to the locker room to quickly fix themselves up, and Hinata and Sakusa walked over to you. It’s safe to say that you were still somewhat upset over Sakusa leaving so abruptly, and as they approached, you crossed your arms. Hinata was the first to talk.
“Hi [L/N]! You excited to be in the video? It’s your first time, right?”
You nodded your head. “Yeah, I guess I am pretty excited.” You then quickly look at Sakusa, and can see him visibly tense up. “So, how was the early practice? Hmmm?”
He side eyed the ginger for a short period of time, and eventually did a full 90 degree bow. This caught you by surprise, causing you to step back.
“I’m sorry for ditching you, [L/N]. Truth be told, there was no early practice.”
Your eyes widened, and numerous thoughts began running through your head. You were right about him lying to you! You were so right to the point where you didn’t even catch the fact that Hinata had also stiffened, and began to lightly sweat.
Was Sakusa about to rat him out?
“I knew it. So, what were you doing then?” You asked once more as Sakusa began to straighten himself up from his bow.
Before the taller man could speak, Hinata spoke instead. “Ohhh, Sakusa ditched you? Now, why would he do that?” He put his pointer finger on his chin, and began to tap on it lightly, trying to imitate someone who was thinking deeply.
You squinted your eyes, and made a face of disgust. “Why are you acting like that?”
“Acting like what?!”
The way that Hinata immediately defended himself attracted the attention of everyone else in the gym, due to the loudness of his voice, causing them to stare for a bit, and eventually return back to their conversations.
You sighed dramatically and pinched the bridge of your nose. “Sakusa, it’s fine that you ditched me. I just wish that you actually told me why you wanted to leave. Hinata, I don’t even know why you’re being weird. Is there something you want to tell me?”
You look at him, and cross your arms once more, while he begins to scratch the back of his head with an awkward smile plastering his face. “Nope. Sorry, [L/N]!”
“Okaaay…” You moved your head more to the left, seeing the camera man waving his hand at you. “Well, I gotta go start this video. See y’all soon.”
With that, you walked past the both of them, and once you were out of earshot, Sakusa nudged Hinata’s side harshly.
“Ow, Sakusa! What was that for?” Hinata whined, rubbing the side of his torso.
“What was that for? You almost exposed us, you idiot.”
“Almost exposed what?” Sakusa gasped lighty and Hinata screamed while the both of them simultaneously turned around, to be met with Atsumu’s curious face.
“U–uh, well um-mm–”
“HINATA!”
Before Hinata could mutter out an answer, the three of them turned their heads to look at a raging [Y/N], with her pointer finger covering her mouth, indicating for them to shut up.
Present time, 22:47.
Even though you decided that you would drop the fact that Hinata and Sakusa were acting oddly suspicious, it still kind of stuck with you.
As you finished putting on your sweatpants and hoodie, you couldn’t help but wonder what they were possibly plotting. ‘Could they be trying to surprise me with something? No, maybe not.’
Using your head to think about these things was ultimately frustrating. You did say you would drop it, so eventually, that’s what you did. You took the towel out of your head, and began to put in as many products as needed, resulting in you letting it air dry.
Finally, your nightly routine was finished. The only thing left was to scroll mindlessly for about an hour before falling asleep. After you walked out of your bathroom, you quickly went to your living room to clean any excess things, such as organizing throw pillows, putting any water cups in the sink, etc.
As you were doing that, your phone was lying comfortably on the arm of your couch. You heard a singular ‘buzz’ coming from it, and went to go check on it.
When you saw the notification you didn’t expect, you immediately this rew it across the room. Thank heavens your floor was carpet.
Your hands covered your mouth as you began to feel a rush going through your head. ‘He texted that fast?! I thought it was going to take him at least a couple of days before actually texting me! What the–’
You sped walked to the spot where you threw your phone, ultimately picking it up and responding.
You quickly sat down on the couch, and put your phone next to you.
‘Is this actually happening?’
Yes, [Y/N], this is actually happening. You’re about to facetime Miya Osamu. Truth to be told, you didn’t even need five minutes. You live by yourself, meaning your apartment is usually clean most of the time, but there can be small messes here and there.
In the five minutes you had before facetiming him, you turned all your lights off, except your floor lamp to create a chill atmosphere, and got comfy on the couch, making sure you were in a position you were able to actually relax in.
Finally, you feel the vibrations of your phone, and mentally prepare yourself. Words could not even describe the excitement you were feeling right now. Was he feeling the same way?
After a few buzzes went by, you answered.
[bold + italics are osamu, bold is you]
“Hello?”
“Hey, Miya.”
He was sitting at a desk with a couple papers scattered around, most likely to do with his business. From what you could see, he looked pretty normal, not tired at all. He was wearing a white tee that hugged him in all the right places. You couldn’t help but wonder if he wore that for you.
“Yer livin’ room all clean now?”
You smiled, and responded, turning the camera to face towards your ceiling. “All clean. Would’ve been done earlier if you hadn’t distracted me, though.”
He chuckled, and averted his eyes to something that was most likely on his walls. He looked back at the camera, and put arms on his desk.
“Where’s yer face at?”
You smirked, and responded. “Why do you want to see my face?”
“Well first of all, it’s called Facetime for a reason. Second…”
He didn’t speak for a bit, and you stared at your phone, awaiting an answer.
“I miss your face. I uh– I know it’s kinda strange ta’ even say that, but yeah.”
You thought that was a good answer. A really good answer. You grabbed one of your pillows, and laid it flat, balancing your phone with it, basically giving him what he wanted.
“Thereee we go.” You couldn’t even hide the smile present on your face, and due to that, he began to smile as well.
“Happy?”
“Very. Now, how was work today?”
As the both of you began to converse about your shift, you didn’t even think about how nervous you were. Talking with Osamu was like talking to an old friend of yours. He didn’t make you uncomfortable one bit, and you really appreciated that. It just felt all too natural.
“Wait, so Sakusa and Hinata were actin’ weird?”
“Yes! I swear I don’t know what’s up with them, but I kinda just decided to not think too much into it.”
“I see. Did he at least end up apologizin’ for ditch’ ya?”
“He did.”
There was a small gap of silence between the two of you since you knew you had more to say, but didn’t know how to word it.
“Ya’know, Miya…”
He let out a “hm?” while still keeping his eyes on your face.
“I’m kinda glad he left me.”
“Yer glad that yer friend left ya all alone?”
“Well, no. I didn’t like that. But, if he didn’t, then we wouldn’t have talked as much as we did earlier.”
You could visually see him begin to think, and once he started nodding his head slowly, you figured that he understood it.
“Ya gotta point.”
“Right?”
Your many conversations with one another ended up going until 1:22 in the morning, until you decided to end the call. You were getting tired, and he was as well.
1:22.
“Miya.”
“Yeah?”
“I hate to end the call, but I can feel myself dozing off.”
He laughed, and grabbed his phone. “I can tell.”
You began to fiddle with your fingers while smiling, but then, you remembered what’s been on your mind since the first time the two of you met.
“Hey, before we hang up, can I talk to you about something real quick?”
“Go for it, no need ta’ ask.”
“Okay, well I– um…” You avert your eyes to your ceiling for a second, before continuing. “I’d rather not really tell anybody, especially Atsumu, that we’re… in communication. Well, for now, at least.”
He stayed silent for a bit, staring at his phone. You also didn’t speak up, as you didn’t even know what else to say.
You heard a small hum come from the other line. “Yeah, I kinda wanted ta’ mention that to you as well. He’s gonna go nuts if he finds out I’m talkin’ to ya.”
“Oh, why?”
“In all fairness, you were his friend first. Somethin’ I learned growin’ up with him, is that he doesn’t like sharin’ his friends.”
“Well, you know what? Tell him to shut up.”
Osamu laughed, causing you to start giggling. After that little fiasco was over, the both of you just looked at each other's faces. You were analyzing, and he was admiring.
“Goodnight, Miya.”
“Goodnight, [L/N]. Come back to Onigiri Miya, alright?”
“You know it.”
𐙚 Bonus
“Who would be the first to go to jail, and what would they be in for?” You held the microphone up to each individual player, awaiting their answers.
Meian: “Barnes, for sure. He’d be in for probably killing some people. I think he’s secretly in the American mafia.”
Tomas: “Inunaki, because he would be a drug dealer, and when I say drugs, I mean cocaine, ecstasy, etcetera.”
Bokuto: “Uhhhhhhh… Meian! I dunno, he seems like the type who would randomly hit someone with a baseball bat!”
Sakusa: “Bokuto. He’d be in for tax evasion.”
Barnes: “Bokuto, and something to do with not filing his taxes.”
Hinata: “Oh, for sure Bokuto! I don’t think he does his taxes!”
Inunaki: “Meian, but I don’t know what he would be in for. Maybe… maybe breaking traffic laws?”
Atsumu: “Who do I think would be in jail?” He points at you. “You. Knowin’ you, you’d probably commit genocide.”
*everybody silently agrees*
[Y/N]: “It has to be someone on the actual team, asshole.”
Atsumu: “Oh… uh, Bokuto. Tax evasion.”
Bokuto: “Stop choosing me! I do my taxes!”
Atsumu: “Then stop yer complainin’ about it, would ya?!”
❝ THROUGH HIS LENS ❞ – PART 4
(Photographer!Matt x Muse!LawStudent!Reader) pt1 pt2 pt3
It had been months. Months of silence, months of pretending like you weren’t still haunted by the way Matt had looked at you that night. Like you didn’t feel his absence in every quiet moment.
You told yourself you made the right choice. You convinced yourself it had to end. That you had to walk away.
Until today.
Until you saw your face—his photos of you—staring back at you from a gallery wall.
Your breath caught.
Every photo was one he had taken, moments frozen in time—your laughter mid-breath, your eyes catching the light just right, your fingers tangled in your hair.
And then, at the center of it all, one final piece. A single polaroid. Unlike the others, this one wasn’t posed, wasn’t carefully curated. It was raw. Your lips parted like you had been mid-sentence, your eyes filled with something soft, something vulnerable.
Beneath it, in small, careful handwriting:
The way I see her.
Your heart slammed against your ribs. You already had this feeling before.
You barely heard the footsteps behind you before a familiar voice shattered the air.
“I didn’t think you’d come.”
You turned slowly. And there he was.
Matt.
His hands were stuffed into the pockets of his hoodie, his hair slightly messy, his eyes holding a hesitance you had never seen before.
You swallowed hard. “You put them in a gallery.”
He shrugged, but there was tension in his shoulders. “They’re my best work.”
Your lips parted, but no words came out.
Because God, you had spent months trying to forget him. Trying to erase the way he made you feel. But standing here, surrounded by every moment he had captured of you, it was impossible to pretend.
Matt sighed, running a hand through his hair. “I never stopped looking at you like this, Y/N. Even when you left.” His voice cracked slightly. “Especially when you left.”
Tears burned behind your eyes. “You never said anything,” you whispered.
“I thought I didn’t have to,” he admitted. “I thought you knew.”
Your heart clenched. Because maybe you had known. Maybe you had just been too scared to believe it.
Matt took a step closer. Then another. “But if you need me to say it…” He inhaled sharply. “I love you, Y/N. I always have.”
A sharp breath left your lips.
It wasn’t grand. It wasn’t rehearsed. It was simple, raw, real.
And suddenly, walking away felt like the biggest mistake you had ever made.
Your voice shook. “I love you too.”
Matt’s eyes closed for half a second, like he was absorbing the words, like he had been waiting to hear them for longer than you realized.
Then, before you could overthink it, you stepped forward, gripping the collar of his hoodie, pulling him down into a kiss that was months overdue.
His hands found your waist, holding you like you might slip away again. Like he wouldn’t let you.
And as the flashes of his photos surrounded you, you realized—through his lens, he had always loved you.
And now, finally, you saw it too.
This whole thread be like: Tell me u know nothing abt trans masculine activism an intersectional feminism without telling me u know nothing abt trans masculine activism an intersectional feminism
bold of ppl to say this shit then spread the exact same kind of transphobic propaganda that garden variety transphobes do abt trans women:
ah yes it’s totally reasonable to disregard hundreds of trans ppl speaking abt their experiences bc a brown guy consensually and privately engaged with his partner’s detransition kink. this is a totally not transphobic or racist thing to obsess over.
#ask avishai#also ppl have said the same shit abt me#claiming i run a ‘dyke breaking blog’#bc of one post from like 2 yrs ago where i was like ‘what if there was a book abt a lesbian and gay guy who had consensual sex bc#they knew they wouldn’t catch feelings n#ppl decided that was ‘forcing lesbians to have sex with men’
“Satoru, you’re being strange.”
Granted, Gojo Satoru acting weird wasn’t anything new.
Especially not when he’s two hours deep into the most droning meeting you’d bribed him into attending as of late - knee bouncing, fingers tapping, head turned towards that firmly shut door like he just wanted to escape. Needed to.
Then again, even you found your attention waning. Finding whispering with your best friend much more interesting than whatever latest mission statistic Yaga had to present.
“M’doing just peachy, sweetheart.” Gojo smiles - but it looks stilted, pained. And even through his blindfold, you already knew his snowy brows were furrowed. “Who’s the one not listening to ol’ man Yaga now?”
You scoff, narrowing your eyes down at his figure beside you - draped over the cool mahogany table as if he owned the place. “Well- you better not be faking sick to get out of this meeting. Again.”
He only hums, “Don’t worry your pretty lil’ h-head about it, m’kay?”
With a final, tired rub at your temples, you’re turning back to Nanami to ask for all the world where Yaga was on his fifty-page report now-
And then, it hits you.
Suddenly.
Something smells sweet.
Like candy - particularly that sugary, strawberry-flavored kind you’ve had to tell Gojo off on more than one occasion for eating too many of. Tilting your head just a bit, you think you could also catch hints of honey and pine, such a strange, hypnotic combination.
“S-Satoru…” your words come out in a syrupy gush, feeling your head whirl.
“Hm?”
And despite yourself, you’re taking in deep, heavy inhales of the air surrounding you. Hungry. Mouth salivating as that heady, perfumed whiff clouds up all your senses. “Do you- hah- what is- do you smell-”
“Ngh- no?” he’s cutting you off with a barely-audible groan, one you probably wouldn’t have even caught if your abilities weren’t so sharpened right now. Gojo’s movements seem sluggish, languid as if he was moving through molasses when he raises up one hand to massage the back of his neck.
You can only watch as his head droops down onto the long table with a wince.
Strange. If you didn’t know any better, you’d have almost thought-
No, there was no time to be entertaining wild conspiracies. Because at this very moment you’re too caught up flitting through the dates of all your previous heats in your mind. Urgently.
Three weeks.
Your next heat wasn’t due for another three weeks. So, sure, you didn’t take your suppressants just yet but, that really didn’t matter, did it?
It wasn’t normal for jujutsu sorcerers to be anything other than a beta - and as an omega, you knew firsthand just how difficult it was to fight tooth and nail just to be able to sit at this table.
Historically, any other faction of society would rather be caught dead than outed, and have their second gender be taken advantage of by the very curses you were supposed to exorcize. Forced to face the stigma of alphas and omegas being too “unstable” or “vulnerable” to be trusted with missions.
This was the very thing you’d been trying to avoid ever since you argued your way into studying at Jujutsu Tech - losing control.
Especially now.
But god, you were burning up. It smelled so sexy.
And, taking a sweeping glance around the table of betas - at your fellow sorcerers, those grim elders, and your disheveled best friend - that left only you to explain the scent.
You were only thankful that their noses weren’t as powerful as yours. Clinging onto this as a saving grace, with a shaky gulp, you gently nudge Nanami on his side. “Hey- Ken?”
“Yes?” And maybe it was the heat - whatever this was - but Nanami’s deep baritone sends shivers down your spine, and you find yourself leaning in traitorously closer to his heated body. His jaw ticks, “Is something wrong? You look…”
“Satoru’s also-”
“So what?”
Without warning, one of his hands comes to splay out across your forehead. Just a mere touch has him sucking in a sharp gasp, “You feel warm, I think you have a fever. You can’t continue the meeting like this.”
You shake your bleary head in protest.
“I won’t let you.” Nanami’s voice hardens with a tone of finality, and yet, you still find yourself trying to whirl around to look at Gojo. Maybe for help, maybe for a distraction to escape when your colleague speaks again - this time directed at Yaga. “Principal Yaga, it seems my dear friend here is sick.” Circling an arm around your shoulders to pull you up from your seat and onto weak legs. “If you’ll please excuse us, I will escort-”
Nanami stills - everything stills.
Everyone stills when his voice tapers off with a ragged grunt, and you feel his chest heave in unsteady breaths. So close now that you can mark the exact moment Nanami’s eyes widen, “Are you…”
Shit.
Shit shit shit-
“Wait.” Yaga’s voice bellows reproachfully. “Is this- That smell-” But even he can’t find the words, slumping back down into his seat.
Truly, the scent was so saturated now, so primal that even the most stubborn of unmated betas were sneaking peeks at you. You bite your lips raw at another glossy gush from your already-heated cunt. It was so embarrassing - your heats have never acted like this before, let alone come three weeks early.
Sure, perhaps that one time on your very first day at Jujutsu Tech itself - which was embarrassing by itself. And, yet, your mind had never been clearer than it was right now.
Eyes sliding over to a familiar, trembling mop of white hair - never been needier.
Fuck, what was your delirious self thinking-
As if drawn by an invisible string, Nanami’s inching impossibly into your hot proximity, hazel eyes falling half-lidded when he takes in a deep whiff. Grumbling, “My love-” Another. And another. Nose almost grazing your pulse now, “-you’re in-”
Slam!
“Out.”
It’s a threat.
That was the first thought that slammed into you, and then the voice continues, slow, snarling like a predator on the edge of ripping something to shreds. “I won’t repeat myself.”
Before you finally understand, it’s a command.
There’s one strong hand around your front, pinning you against a sculpted chest. Something about it has your pulse booming in your ears, fingers clawing at that pale wrist at your shoulder. Yet, he doesn’t even flinch.
Nanami, however, reluctantly detaches his hands from your body, and you finally have enough strength to look towards the origin of the words. Only for your glassy gaze to meet with a towering Gojo Satoru standing at his full height - when did he even get up?
Jaw clench, sharp canines bared, blindfold dangling haphazardly around his neck - ah, he looked like a man that crawled from hell and back simply to take you all along with him.
With you at lucky number one.
First in his line of sight. Close enough that you can finally smell him.
Oh.
Oh.
And you swear you saw his eyes tint with the faintest blue lightning when your own scent perks up. Boring into you for just a millisecond before narrowing his gaze down at a stupefied Nanami, cracking the kinks in his neck. “Unless ya wanna watch.” He bares the rest of the room with his flooring glare, “Unless all of you want to watch.”
It’s chaos.
They understood - perhaps long before even you did.
Chairs clatter, the desk trembles, and that safe haven of the door is swung open. That weezing council of elders are first to stumble over one another into the hallway, Yaga following shortly with a wordless sigh.
Until the only ones left are you and him - and Nanami.
Blond brows raising, his eyes flit frantically between you and a possessive Gojo. Sputtering out, each word jagged, and dry as if they’re being wrenched from his chest. “What is the meaning of this- We- I thought you were a- a beta.”
Everyone did, and Nanami was speaking what your mind couldn’t right now.
Gojo Satoru always presented himself as a beta - never affected by your heats, never disappearing once every few months for his ruts as you remember Suguru did. He always seemed so normal - perhaps the one thing about him that was. Unaffected by the stupid little trials and tribulations of alphas and omegas in sorcery.
But it was undeniable, he was an alpha.
And taking a deep inhale of his saccharine sweet perfume - so overpowering - he might just be the strongest you’ve ever encountered. How fitting.
“You thought.” Gojo’s voice was clipped, rumbling with a low growl that sent electrifying shivers down to your very cunt. And his tone just makes Nanami jolt. “And I can’t right now so I- fuck-”
Gojo’s body wracks with a violent shudder, making him hunch over - with you in tow. His hot breath puffs out in feverish pants near your ear, abs clenching as another velvety wave of pheromones emit from him.
You mewl when your body is jostled in his toned arms, nudging the very curve of your ass - tight uniform skirt hiking up just enough - so that you push in a slow drag against something rock-hard. Massive. Weeping out in a sticky damp spot that seeps into your skin.
“Hah-” you’re gasping, face swirling to nose up the crook of his neck - where the candied scent was most prominent. “Toru–”
There’s a gasp - and it’s not from you this time.
Both you and Gojo are snapping your dazed heads upwards at a frozen Nanami, his hand shooting to cover his nose. Eyes wild- “I-”
Before thinking better of it, it seems like Nanami opted to keep some part of his sanity as he abruptly turns on his heels without a second glance backwards. Marching robotically, the only moment he stops is once he’s at the doorway. One hand tugging on his suddenly too-tight pants, the other on the doorknob. Eyes still trained forwards when he calls out gruffly, “Don’t break the table, insurance doesn’t cover it.”
SLAM!
Finally alone.
Your vision swims - is the door even locked? Is this- God, you feel hot. So hot - too hot.
And Gojo’s burning up, arms wrapping around you so tight that you could feel the way his skin flushed with a thin sheen of sweat. He breathes out into your ear, “My pretty girl…”
“Oh sh-shit–” you’re whimpering, big fat tears welling up behind your eyes. And without wasting a second, as soon as it splatters hotly on your best friend’s skin, he licks a long, lazy stripe to lap at the hazy saltiness. Babbling away, “Feel so dizzy hngh- and you- you’re an alpha?”
Honestly, part of you still didn’t want to believe it.
But as soon as he husks out a gravelly moan, as soon as his tongue dips down a wet pathway to the scent gland on your neck - you already know you won’t be making it out of this alive. “Why did you hide it from me?”
“Mhm- fuck! m’sorry.” he grunts into your skin, slightly muffled. Nipping ever-so-slightly, “M’sorry m’sorry- had to- my sudden rut made my- hah, made my pretty omega go into heat, didn’t it?”
His soft palms glide down your trembly body, greedily kneading every dip and curve that comes his way. He’s lost. So, so lost.
Plastering his lips down every inch of skin he could reach, that sweet scent sticking to you like a sloppy second skin. And you can barely even think when you feel his swollen dick just twitch behind you, a fresh wave of swelteringly hot precum sloshing right through your silken skirt.
You whimper when you’re rutting messily back and forth, and he drags a thick thumb to pry your spit-glossed lips open. “Aww, poor baby. Tell me- fuck tell me what you want, sweetheart.”
And all you can really give him right now is a circular swivel of your hips, which evidently wasn’t enough.
Because Gojo’s furious tip only hardens, and he hisses with a slight tug up your skirt. Cold fingers dancing ravenously up the edge of your drenched panties, gliding the very rounded tip of his index slowly across your sopping slit.
“Tha’s not enough.” he snickers, and suddenly you’re hit with another wave of emanating pheromones. Enough to make you just slobber a glistening coating all down his long digits. “Use your ah- w-words like a big girl now. Because when I start…” His teeth find your earlobe, and his fingers find themselves planting a dripping wet slap! across your puffed-up clit. Unwavering. Unapologetic. “I won’t be able to stop.”
“Please, Toru.” That cute little nickname makes him jump, makes him throw his head back with a low moan. Brows scrunching together as if pained. “Don’t want you to stop-”
Maybe you were going to say more - maybe you would’ve called him that nickname and driven him even crazier.
But Gojo doesn’t wait to find out.
In one, fluid motion he’s picking up your body into the easiest princess carry you two would’ve laughed at if this was one of those romcoms you watched together. Just splaying you out on your back across the cool table, he situates himself in the perfect position between your legs.
Oh, how he loved this view. How he’s spent so many ruts just like this imagining this view.
“F-fuck- You have no idea how- how crazy it drove me.” rasping groans drag out from his throat, strained with every slow drag of his cock down the front of your now-see-through panties. “How wild-” You’re nearly screaming when his canines dig in to that soft spot underneath your ear. “-to pretend I didn’t know you smelled so hah- so fucking delicious.”
And then you feel him still - alert, ready.
Chest heaving, an almost chilling tone dipping into his words when he spits, “Except when you smell like him.”
Your jaw falls slack when the temperature in the room heats up another few heady degrees, and the sheer power of your two scents mixing together is almost maddening.
“He- he? Toru, what do you-” you’re gasping out in tiny huffs, while he busies himself with biting and licking down your exposed neck. Enough to leave you smeared all over with marks. “Who- Kento?”
“Oh, sayin’ another man’s name when you’re with- fuck- me?” Gojo’s bucking powerfully into you, his body was pinning you down. Scorching, now. “Such a naughty omega- I should kill him for how he touched you.”
Truly, his alpha was fucking clawing at him to trek out of this room right now and finish off the job - but, no, you were too hypnotic. And Gojo Satoru, the strongest, was no match for you.
The wet thwack of his fingers once more kisses in a rude smack against your clit, making you squeal. Ringing across your thundering ears, he swears at that broken, blissful noise from you. “Fuckin’ oh, would ya let him see you like this, too? Let him touch you like th-this?”
And Gojo looked so starved, velvety blindfold tickling your chin when he leans in close. Lips ghosting your own - but not quite. You’re suddenly brought back to the very first thought you had - that this is about to be a bloodbath.
“I wouldn’t–” you bite back in your honeyed tone, and you can feel your omega just purr in satisfaction. “N’ it’s not my fault that someone-”
Smack! Harder, sprinkled with tiny bolts of electricity.
“Correct.”
It’s breathed out into your mouth - a quick, hedonistic peck. Gojo just taunting your sanity before he’s pulling away with a gruff string of profanity, like it hurt him just as much as it did to you.
You feel your slick dribble down into a saturated puddle below you. And the mere sight of it makes Gojo just reel his hips deliriously forwards, grinding his massive bulge across your dripping cunt until you could see it soil a fountainy dark patch on his pants.
“F-fuckin’-” his eyes roll to the back of his head at how hot you were. How pouring wet. Wrangling your quivering legs painfully stretched open, “-woman of my dreams.”
With two, thick fingers hooked over the hem of your skirt, it’s being torn off in an easy pull. Falling somewhere in a pile of impractical tatters onto the meeting room floor, along with your shirt.
And as soon as it’s off, Gojo’s only growing more feral. More hungry.
He’s drooling from one corner of his mouth, but he doesn’t even notice at this point. Honestly, barely even realizing the burning pain when he falls to the floor on his knees. Clattering haphazardly, insatiably nosing up your jittery inner thighs.
“Oh sweetheart- oh my pretty girl. My pretty, pretty girl–” he’s breathing out, head lolling drunkenly against your legs. And Gojo gulps when he spreads your panties away with a wet glide of his thumb, just enough to see your messy hole winking up at him eagerly. All soaked and needy. “M’gonna have so much fun being yours.”
He kisses wetly through your panties - without warning, without even breathing. Just surging his pretty face into the heated crevice between your thighs, taste buds on his pinkish tongue grazing up the soaked fabric.
Like he was addicted.
“Oh- oh my god-” you’re mewling out, lower lip wobbly at every sultry swirl of Gojo’s tongue over your pussy lips, painting your messy hole in every mesh of slick and spit he could conjure up. “It feels too- hah–”
You were always so sensitive during your heats, every single one of your senses heightened to the max. So it made your mind all overwhelmingly melty inside to have his steaming hot mouth on your equally ravenous cunt. Hungry.
Yeah, he was addicted.
Dragging a few fingers in-between your glistening folds, scissoring them shamefully open to spit. Once. Twice.
Some of it splatters strayly onto the start of your thighs, which Gojo glady licks up all over again to stream out a thick wad back onto your silt. Until your cunt was drooling translucent dredges of everything he has to give, he smears his messy thumb in easy rotations around your clit. Filthy.
“So gorgeous- so good f’me.” Gojo titters, biting down teasingly on the very edge of your panties. And he can’t hide that fucked-out little groan when pulls it back, back, back to just snap! it meanly right on your cunt. “Fuck- you taste as s-sweet as you smell, mmm–”
You’re yelping when his long tongue draws a slow circle around the edge of that first ring of muscle, just barely pushing back against how your gummy walls are trying to hug him. To milk him for everything he has.
“S-such a tease-” you whine, fingers tangling into his cloudy white hair. Soft - the silken tresses smoothed over your palm, slotting between your digits when you pull his mouth roughly onto your pussy. “Jus’ want you on me- ngh!”
“Ohh ya can still t-talk easy, huh?” Gojo raises an amused brow from in-between your legs, that won’t be possible soon with how he’s going to have you. “Well then, don’t you dare beg me to go easy on you, girl.”
And he keeps the panties on - fuck, he keeps the panties on when mashing those ragged, rosy lips of his in a steamy make-out with your cunt. It’s as if he was breathing you in, so close that you could feel every clench of Gojo’s jaw, every grind of his chin into the very base of your pussy.
“Sh-shitttt-” he spits, stray wisps of white covering his eyesight. Dragging you on his tongue through pure instinct. “Shit wait- ah you’re so fuckin’ so-”
Unable to even finish his sentences with that usually-sharp tongue of his. No, that tongue right now was too occupied with the steady, repetitive drag along your snug channel. Bullying into your sodden sensitive spots, thrusting back and forth back and forth back and-
And his fingers, oh those infamous fingers were straying back onto the sensitive nub of your clit. Drawing tight, tempestuous circles that have you keening at the dual stimulation, thighs stuttering to an embarrassed close.
“Open.”
It’s just like before - and Gojo’s using that annoyingly baritone tone of his that hits you at your very core, that makes your omega snap open your legs for him.
Even you’re surprised at how pliant your body acts before your mind right now - and so is Gojo. though, his expression doesn’t show it, every bit of that feral animal that scared everyone out of this room not too long ago.
“That’s it- that’s it–” he can’t hold back, hands glued to the globes of your ass to pin you still against his mouth. “Ha- so fuckin’ different when ya listen to me, so fucking sweet.” Breathing in deeply, “Were ya giving off this scent so Nanami could do this, too?”
Thwack!
Another mocking slap against your clit - not enough to make you cry, but with just enough buzzing jujutsu to make your batting lashes teary - forces you to find your words.
And fuck, Gojo swears there’s no sweeter music than the sound of your voice - especially when you’re moaning like that.
Voice breaking into a whine, accompanied by a few raw clenches of your pussy around his furious tongue. “N-no fuck- don’t know-” your hips arch into the most perfect curve he’s ever seen. One that makes his mouth water, cock straining against his pants. “Toru- jus’ want you, wanna cum- wanna- want you so bad.”
Fuck - and who was he to not go along with each and every one of your pretty whims?
Pussydrunken already. He’d read about this - but he really had no clue how potent an omega in heat was, never having spent a rut with one. That little special occasion was always saved for you but, ah, that was a story for another time.
“M’gonna cum- hah- so- close-”
Right now, he couldn’t think of anything other than how gorgeous you would look when you cum. How delicious - your sweetened scent raising up by a few notches, taking over his sentences.
He feels his cock just throb at the mere thought.
Which is why Gojo’s pulling away with one final, sodden kiss on your pussy. You feel the curvaceous curl of his smirk against your cunt, and a deep, filthy inhale.
“Nah.” he smiles a glistening smile up at you - grin glossed all over with a sheen of your sweet, sweet juices. And the rest of his face was almost-obscured with a curtain of his white bangs, but you still think you could peek the glow of his inhuman eyes through them. Powerful. “Don’ think you’re c-cumming anywhere other than on my knot first, pretty girl.”
And he’s so tall that Gojo’s blocking out the dim meeting room lights when he stands up - slow, smug, making you spend each passing second in such anticipation.
Face expressionless - almost hypnotized - when he shrugs his shirt off. Lips parted into a soft oh! eyes half-lidded, heaving he slides his belt off almost lazily.
It clatters! to the ground, and he’s sliding down his drenchingly wet boxers with it - leaving a gleaming trail of precum down the front of his toned pelvis. Letting his achy cock finally spring free, he hisses when it hits the too-cool air.
And you do, too - though, for much different reasons.
Because Gojo’s so unfairly big - fitting, for an alpha of his stature. Blushed the prettiest pink at his rotund head that matched his cheeks right now, gradiating down into creamy tufts of white at his thick base. Showing the starting of his knot swelling. It made you wonder whether he tasted as sweet as he smelled. So hard it looked painful, curving into a long, solid shaft that glides a wet smear across his washboard abs. It makes your omega just preen, rabid to have him inside you right now now now-
“Heh, impatient lil’ thing, aren’t ya, sweetheart?” Gojo huffs out in a heady bout of laughter. “Can practically feel yer omega ngh- calling out to me, is this what you want?”
You claw ferally at the milky display of his back, branding him in your own way. “Yes- please-”
A sudden rip! makes you realize you still had your panties on - up until a few seconds ago, at least. Jostling him ever-so-slightly closer, you mewl when the rounded tip of his angry cock nudges against your pussy lips. Melding into a slight kiss that already makes him stream steaming hot ropes of precum.
And if you were in any better state of mind maybe you’d have noticed the way the light above flicker, fizzing with electricity just as much as you were right now.
“Heheh- oh y-you made me like this, ya realize?” he chuckles out - but his voice didn’t show even a hint of humor. It’s like he was out of control, out of rationality with each languid drag in-between your folds. Babbling, “You threw me into- fuck fuck fuck this is all- your-”
Honestly, Gojo’s so utterly shocked he managed to grit even half that sentence out.
Because every sloppy second has him grinding upwards in the tiniest of ruts into your sung cunt, tiny, mindless grinds that make a low ah! ah! ah! rip from his throat.
“Open that mouth f’me, sweetness-”
As soon as you do, you’re feeling a thick, glossy stream of saliva slosh onto your lolling tongue. Mouth wrenched shut until you swallow - and you do. Happily. Filthily.
That’s enough to make Gojo lose it.
And he’s plunging headfirst into your toasty insides, shoving back that tiny bit of resistance before your elastic walls are milking him so well. Greedily swallowing up every one of his generous inches, and it only seemed like more was to come.
“Oh shit- ohhh sh-shit-” His eyes are rolling to the very back of his head, mouth hanging open, that tiny trickle of drool splatters onto your skin.
“T-Toruu—” your cunt was addictive, and so were those moans of yours. Craning your neck upwards, “Kiss me, please.”
For a second, he’s leaning in - making it seem like he was about to smear that firmly placed gloss all over his lips onto yours. But Gojo only sneaks a peck at the corner of your mouth, then the other - and then one on the tip of your nose.
“I will I will-” he’s musing, giggles bursting from his lips. “Once we’ve mated, can’t get too greedy at once now? Can I?”
But oh how his actions spoke otherwise, because Gojo’s powerful hips absolutely refused to stop until he was well and fully buried into the hot depths of your cunt. Sheathing himself in all your soppingly wet walls, the sheer tightness was enough for him to throw his head back, heavy balls squeezing. In and out in and out.
“Ohhh fuck-” Two hands of his roughly attach themselves to your hips, pitching up your needy whines when he drools down your pussy even more thoroughly. “You sure do make it f-fuckin’ hard though-”
You whine when your ass hits against something bulging and hot, whirling those dazed eyes of yours down at the intrusion.
“Shit-” you’re gasping, eyes widening. And the sheer awe in your eyes is enough to make him grow, blood pumping to every thick inch of his cock until he was expanding even girthier, molding your pliant walls to his size. “That’s your knot- I-I-”
“I-I-I-” Gojo mocks, in a voice octaves higher than usual. Fucking the rest of that sentence with a harsh roll of his hips, knocking bruisingly at your cervix. “C’mon now ah- tell me- you can t-tell me anything.” Kissing softly at your ear lobe, zaps of jujutsu making you jump. “M’your best friend, right?”
How ironic.
All you can gift him in response is a few soft whimpers that only make him wilder.
“Fuck!” you’re keening when another one of his slams leave you gasping for air, feeling like he was clashing into your very womb. Glissading a deep, wet glide of his fat, curved tip across your spongy cervix, his breath hitches at the slight recoil. “I want it-”
Your words make him almost falter with his ruthless pace, and you take it upon yourself to just drag him down by his muscled shoulders. Until he was hunching over you, abs flexing against your front, “I want your hah- knot in m-”
And you can’t even finish the sentence - you don’t know if you want to.
Because just that syrupy jumble of words is enough to make Gojo Satoru snap.
To cut you off with a rough growl, teeth bared at you, in a split-second he has you limp legs thrown over his shoulder. Biceps flexing in such a mouth-watering way when he makes them lock at the ankle, bending down, down, down into the meanest little mating press your joints would allow.
The change in angle has you scrambling - has him scrambling to crash his leaky head into your swollen g-spot. Hitting that bulging bullseye with no regrets - over. And over. And over and over and-
“Oh, marry me sweetheart.” he’s panting into your mouth. His pulsing girth rummaging your insides so good, dragging every ridge and thumping vein on his shaft against your sweet spots. He was so big that you felt like your syrupy cunt had already forgotten what it felt like without him pounding into you. Suckling wetly at the corner of your lips, “Marry me marry me- oh, fuck- gonna give you m-my knot. Don’ think I could go on hah- l-living without ya, pretty.”
He was feral - eyes glowing a blazing blue, sparks of lightning bolting down his milky skin. And you swear with each speeding cadence of his, the lights flickered on and off.
Every slippery smack of his tight, cum-filled balls has you seeing stars, yearning for the additional burning stretch of being plugged by his knot.
You’re throwing your arms over his neck, reeling him in like he was your prey, though his hips were devouring you. “W-we’re not even dating and you want me t-to be your hngh-”
“-wife!” He kisses every inch of your face, down your neck, over that soft scent gland of yours - now so overstimulating his senses with your sweet scent that he’s almost forgotten what his own smelled like. Buzzes of electricity skimming down your skin with each touch. He’s groaning, “Be my wife- please- fuck, I need you to be my wife.” Planting an almost-french kiss on that one sweet spot. Once. twice. “M-my mate- sh-shit-”
And you already knew Gojo was close with the way his pretty eyes are almost fluttering shut, the way his hefty balls clamp. Twitching in desperation, his thickened base pumps in even deeper - harder. As if he was trying to rut every single inch into your clingy depths.
Every single inch.
“Mhm–” you moan, feeling the staggering stretch of his even hotter cock shape your walls. “I wanna- wanna be your-”
You don’t even bother finishing your sentence - and neither does Gojo let you.
Because it only takes a few more sloppy jackhammers before he’s finally sinking his taut knot into you. The stretch is so insane you feel your eyes roll to the back of your head, being plugged so suddenly full.
And then you’re hurtling headfirst into your high - toes curling, white-hot pleasure flashing behind your eyes, your spine bowing so sluttily into his. And Gojo-
Oh, Gojo had his mouth sagging open the moment he felt his massive knot intrude against your silken sweet walls, stretching that snug channel around all of him. And he wishes he had the willpower to look down at the heavenly sight, he wishes he could do anything but sink his teeth down hard into your precious scent gland as he cums and cums and cums.
The lights burst, shards deflecting off the limitless he’d coated over the both of you.
Teeth breaking skin, metal tasting on his tongue, scents tangling together into one now.
You do your best to bite him back on his heady neck, breaking through Gojo’s milky skin to reveal a set of pretty pink indents.
Finally yours. Finally his.
“O-oh, pretty girl–” he hiccups, voice cracking. Hips not moving even the tiniest second of momentum while he stuffs your tight pussy full of his potent seed. “My wife- my mate.”
And Gojo almost bawls when the tight lock of his knot prevents him from plunging into you as deeply and thoroughly as he wanted to right now. Sobbing down big fat tears that splatter! against your lips while he kisses your mind dizzy.
You could feel the syrupy slosh of his cum inside you with each one of his dragged-out grinds, milking your orgasm for as long as possible. Unmoving. Unapologetic in how he was spitting out such voluminous loads of milky white seed that overfilled you.
“Shit- so much-” you’re whining, still clinging to him. And you don’t think he even hears you right now, mind blanking. “I feel so full, Toru-”
But you didn’t have to babble out those words for him to know, somehow, he just knew. Knew every single thing about you, but couldn’t dredge up the words to respond.
Too pussydrunken to do anything but bite you on your scent gland all over, he kisses a wet trail up to your lips, “Now you- really hafta m-marry me heh.”
Bang!
Gojo’s fist comes crashing down on the rickety table - it’s too much for him.
Those ringing squelches and the way you were sucking out every single drop of his cum makes his sensitive shaft twitch. Tears blimping up into his eyes again, more and more velvety ribbons ooze out. “My wife- my wife my wife my wife- my mate-”
It’s just about all he can say - like a mantra. Over and over against your lips, until the peaks of your pleasure turn into mere tingles, until Gojo’s own knot is softening down. Slightly.
Just enough that he can pull out-
“Toru, what-”
“Shhh, pretty girl-” He’s kissing your puffed-up clit with another spank from his trembly fingers, and then an actual kiss. Mouth slotting over the mess he’s made below. Grazing all over like a creamy gloss. Filthy. “Rut’s just started.”
His ravenous tongue drags out your overstimulated high, and you’re clinging onto a lock of his snowy hair for dear life.
“Please-” you beg, voice shot. You don’t even know what you were begging for, but god was Gojo Satoru happy to let himself be used. “Please please please, Toru-”
Oh, his fingers tighten on your thighs - imprinting neat patterns of crescents. Animalistic, in how Gojo just drags your twitchy body forwards.
His eyes were drooping shut, gaze crazed - frantic where he looked you right in the eyes from down below. Head craning to ram his stretchy tongue even deeper, quirking up deftly like he’s wanting to bruise his taste buds along your walls.
Slurping at and collecting the creamy mess on his tongue - only to spit it back into your sloppy hole. Messy.
Even with the dark, lightless room - with only those stray sparks of power to accompany you two - such loud squelches echo across his own ears. And just by the noise Gojo could tell how wet you were - as if you weren’t drooling over the lower half of his face, up to his cheekbones, already.
Sticking to your inner thighs in an obscene drip! drip! drip!
It’s so shameful and you love it.
And you love that you’re so cockdrunken that you aren’t even sure when you’re cumming - if you’re cumming. Whether those sudden crashes of pleasure were because of your nth orgasm tonight, or because of the way Gojo kisses you with another thwack!
Adrenaline and electricity coursing through your veins, ears thundering with your rapid pulse. Oh god, you never knew a heat could feel this good - this maddening.
You moan, and he’s eagerly lapping up every sweet bead of slick you have to offer, like a man that hasn’t had an ounce of water in weeks. Brows furrowed, jaw sagging open-
“Shit shit shit-” he’s rasping out, and the very slide of his fingers across your skin sends waves of powerful jujutsu - somehow bunching at your clit just right. “M’cumming- m- m’still cumming fuck- won’t- stop-”
Just as soon as your orgasm is ending, Gojo’s is just starting. Like he’d been holding back on this from the moment he’d started eating out your overspilling pussy - happily.
And exactly on time, too, because you barely even have the time to catch your breath before Gojo’s standing on his two unsteady feet. Just splitting you open on all of his red, raw inches - uncaring for your little mewls and those tears.
Because you were sucking him up madly.
Spearheading his swollen cock into you like he was trying to fuck another orgasm out of you. His strokes are long, harsh, showing off all the years of strength he built up boasting the title of the strongest.
And this hastily put-together mating press has his cum just overspilling out of you by now, dribbling down in wet globs that made you wonder how much more he could fill you up. It seeps in a white circle underneath your ass, slicking you back and forth along the wood at each harsh ram.
Again. And again. And again and again and-
“Made me this- hngh- this way, y’know?” he spits into your mouth - followed by a slurred string of swears. Every time his heftily smacking balls clench, you could feel the table creak under pressure. “Sat next to me with that fucking skirt- smelling so fucking- ngh- good- do you even know how delicious ya are?”
You can’t answer - because he’s back to squeezing in his staggering knot into you. Sparks exploding out from the corner of his scrunched-up eyes, forehead knocking into yours.
Gojo kisses you like he couldn’t get enough, letting you taste all the sin from just before.
“Three weeks away, huh?” That accusatory little inflection in his words isn’t lost on you, only growing stronger and stronger as his staccato grows sloppier. “Have your- hah- heat in three weeks and fuck- I could just- smell it on you-”
It’s incredible. Sliding your frenzied bodies across on another, stinging with skin-on-skin and how your gooey walls constricted around him.
“Showing off in that scent and that skirt-” His eyes are almost bulging out of his head now, hips stuttering like just the very thought of that pile of fabric at the corner of the room drove him mad. “-fuck that skirt- always fuckin’ hated it. Hated how Nanami loves hngh- it. Made me lose fucking control a-and you know what?”
One of his hands curls around your throat now, the other taking hold of your left - kissing your ring finger pointedly. “I’ll do it all over again if it means I’d get to have ya like this, my mate.”
And just then he’s coating your melty insides in a creamy sheen, that overworked divot right at the end of his dick was firmly pressed up against your g-spot. Plugging you with his knot, and you swear you could see a little inflation forming where he was filling you to your limits.
Cumming and cumming so hard it’s like he couldn’t stop - didn’t want to stop until his body practically forced him.
Gojo’s biting down hard exactly over those deep indents on your scent glands when his gushing spurts of seed turn into almost-painful blanks.
Over and over, he’s cumming nothing.
“L-love you, Toru-” you’re babbling out, reeling him in to peck the corners of his smirking mouth.
Utterly fucked out of your mind enough that you don’t even register the loud boom! from somewhere in the distant grounds of Jujutsu Tech. Barely even care that the overpriced meeting table is now sagging on one side, just about in splinters.
“Aww, m-my c-cockdrunk baby–” he titters shakily into your glossed-pout. “Love you, too, always have always- will-” Patting the bulge on your stomach, before kissing you gently, “Ever since I th-threw ya into heat the ngh- first time ya met me.”
Oh.
And later, you’ll learn that that almost-deafening boom was the generator for Jujutsu Tech, mysteriously bursting after a sudden spike in atomic pressure in the surrounding area. You’ll find out that every piece of furniture in the surrounding buildings had moved about six inches in your direction, and that the now-ruined table was an irreplaceable heirloom.
But for now, all you register is soft.
Warm.
With a gasp you realize you’re in a bedroom - Gojo’s bedroom.
“Did- did you teleport-”
“Mhm-” he pants, and in the dim lighting you could spot his leering grin. Satisfied. Pussydrunken. And you could feel his knot swell up hotly, halfway through to its previous size.
You sputter, trying so desperately to find the words. Difficult, when Gojo still had you wrapped around his thick cock, all the way up to his fat, drenched base. Swiveling his cock in slow, sultry grinds for how much he couldn’t ram exactly how he wanted to right now. “Wh-why didn’t you do this before–?”
“Because-” he licks over his mating mark on you. “-wanted to show off what animals we were.” His grin grows wider, as does his tired cock. And that dangling blindfold around his neck ends up around your wrists, tying you up pliantly for him. “What animals we will be.”
---
Right now, all Nanami can think about is you you you- Yet,he doesn’t expect to see you for about the next week. Or, at least, that’s the hopeful side of him - knowing Gojo, and the state he’d left the meeting room in, he won’t see you again for a month.
Possibly not walking.
Perhaps, that’s for the best. Looking down at his swollen, throbbing cock - one fist wrapped around its thick base, the other around his shaky phone, he clicks on that familiar app.
Shit, his rut is near. Now, actually.
Nanami sighs, it’s hard pretending not to be animals.
A/N. Was soooo giggling writing about how the table was some heirloom.
neighbor!simon x reader. longer read.
you’re neighbor is a homebody. sort of.
he’s either never home or always home. you aren’t sure what he does, but whatever it is leaves his flat vacant for months at a time, not so much as a mouse breath breaching the thin popcorn walls that separate your rooms.
and when he is in the complex, you’d never know it. a shut in, the only give away is the muffled news channel that burrows through your moldings, or smithed footfall at ungodly hours.
the first time you caught him moving in while off to work. big bloke- and when you waved to him he stared, before lumbering into his complex. given, he was holding a large cardboard box, so you weren’t expecting him to return the greeting. but a hello would’ve been nice.
it was 4 months until you got a good look at him.
you were awake at a time you shouldn’t have been for a reason you had long forgotten. you do remember thinking you might as well do your laundry.
when you went down to the mat, there he was.
tracker fed shoulders taking up half the space, and on an inhale they took two thirds. clothes looked as though they had been dyed in pen ink and left to dry in hail. mud boots, thick legs, and the silhouette of a cauliflower ear against the fabric of his balaclava.
he glared at you like you weren’t supposed to be there. an anomaly, disturbed his routine. steel face, stone eyes, swear you’d seen the same look in your history books on the shields of greek soldiers.
it all scared you shitless, so you turned on your heel and didn’t go back until the morning. you make it a point to hustle past his door after that.
but you tend to take more than you can handle. swaddling your groceries as you wobble up the stairs, just barely there before your foot catches on the last step. produce among some of the other fragile items scattered across the tiles, and you curse under your breath.
you wouldn’t characterize yourself as a klutz, but it scrambling to collect your groceries feet from your door isn’t helping your case. the paper bags struggle against your grip, and it feels like you’re just biding your time until they all rip apart.
“you need help.”
its said more like an observation than it is a question. you turn slowly, and a goliath stands 6 feet and something over you. he sports a medical mask and a ballcap, which reveals new features- sun bleached skin that peels from the bridge of his nose to between his brows, which are thick and blonde. the left is cut in half by scar tissue and spite. if you squint you see freckles.
the night he scared you, you remembered his eyes as pitch. crow feather. under your bed.
you now see they’re the deepest shade of brown.
“i- no its fine i..” your arms do a dance with the bags, trying to keep them steady.
he grabs them both from you, and suddenly they still. its like handing squealing pigs to a farmer. built for holding them. it makes you feel weird that you like it.
“unlock the door.”
you do as you’re told and find your keys in your back pocket. fumble at the lock before opening the door and standing to the side to let him in. he nods.
sets your groceries down before gently tipping the brim of his cap. he doesn’t say anything before leaving.
and this started the strangest routine.
every week you’d get groceries, he’d be there.
the first time he was on the second flight of stairs. when you questioned how he knew you’d been shopping, he rolled his shoulders and scoffed.
“your huffin n puffin gave you away.”
he was there for four more trips. each time, you had gotten more words out of him. found out he had the driest sense of humor and a plethora of knock-knock jokes that you painfully laughed at.
he even kept up with the occasional flirt.
“yknow, you could start charging for your manual labor.”
“you rich?” he returned.
you laughed. “far from it. but this is a service, and you haven’t started making demands so…”
he stopped and stared at your back before you turned around. “so what?”
“i have to assume you just like me.”
he rolled his eyes, but you caught the way his cheek twitched under his eyes. although it was hidden by the mask, you had made him smile.
“don’t get your hopes up.”
all of it was enough for you to get comfortable. and then he wasn’t there.
the absence was strange enough to make your pace stutter when you reached the second floor, but you recovered and trekked to your room.
not without glancing at his door, though.
he must be back at work. surely he isn’t…well. he couldn’t have moved out without telling you. you aren’t close but maybe you are?
you thought so hard about it for so long that you placed your ear to the wall separating your flats.
after a few moments, you heard nothing. not even a mouse breath.
you felt foolish for being so relieved. and you kept feeling foolish for hoping he’d be there with every errand, and disappointed when he wasn’t.
it was 4 more groceries trips before you saw him again.
waiting at the entrance of the complex, crossed arms and black attire stood out like a sore thumb in the winter blight that bit at your nose with snow and temperatures below freezing. you picked up the pace.
when you got to the cement steps, you sorely regretted your decision to jog. not because it winded you, or it amplified the struggle you had with your bags, but because of the smug smile you could see crinkling the bastards cheeks under his mask.
“you missed me.”
you handed him a bag. “i missed your arms. carry that.”
you could hear the grin from behind you.
“whatever you say, sweet’eart.”
you woke up to yet another feeling of cold sheets beside you. the sun peeking through the curtains, the cool breeze of air conditioning meeting your skin. you shivered at the sensation. you patted seungcheol’s side of the bed, knowing you would be disappointed yet again. your eyes fluttered open, the sight of neatly tucked sheets on the opposite side of the bed made your heart heavy. as if he hadn’t slept there at all.
for months now, your marriage had a cloud looming over it. love that was once warm had grown cold and silent, reduced to taking care of household necessities and meaningless small talk. you couldn’t remember the last time you felt comforted by your husband of three years. and even if you did, the memory wouldn’t bring any comfort.
seungcheol’s career was at its peak. he was a few steps closer to getting promoted to a higher position at the firm he worked at. of course, along with this almost promotion, he had to sacrifice spending time with you. he was never home most days of the week. and if he were home, he would instead be resting and catching up on whatever sports he watched on tv.
needless to say, you were getting tired of that routine. you felt lonely. you tried to keep yourself busy with work or even joining a pilates class, but every corner reminded you of how much you missed your husband. the sight of other wives being picked up from work or how some husbands would join their wives for workouts. the feeling was gnawing at your chest.
you and seungcheol didn’t fight. in fact, you barely even talked. you resorted to cooking his favorite meals–which were mostly piling up in the fridge because he was never home–and steaming his suits for him. the silence that gathered in your home was louder than any argument could ever be.
it was strange, living together, yet he felt farther than when he went on his business trips.
you loved seungcheol. you were so in love with him that the thought of losing him terrified you. but sometimes you wonder if love alone was enough to hold your marriage together. you often thought about what went wrong, questioning if you ever did something to make him lose interest in you.
you sighed, pulling the covers off you to prepare for the day. after showering and brushing your teeth, you headed to the kitchen to make lunch. the silent air greeting you as you walked through your shared apartment. you decided to make coffee for your husband, even if deep down you knew it would just grow cold. you wanted to show your affection for him somehow.
you took a sip of coffee from your cup, the bitterness lingering longer than usual. you glanced at the clock, seeing it was almost time for your therapy appointment.
it was your idea to attend couples’ therapy, seeing it as a last resort to salvage your crumbling marriage. when you first suggested it to seungcheol, he was hesitant and weary about the idea of running to another person about your problems. but seeing that it would mean a lot to you, and he didn’t want to put up a fight, he agreed to give it a try.
you hadn’t seen seungcheol since the previous morning when he hastily left for work. bidding you goodbye with a tired smile when he left you alone in the kitchen. a small part of you was worried he had forgotten about the appointment, not wanting to be disappointed, so you decided to send him a text.
wifey <3: hi, just wanted to remind you about our appointment at 2 pm
you stared at the screen, fingers dancing anxiously as you awaited his response.
cheolie <3: yea, i'll meet u there
that was it. no greeting, no apology for not coming home the night before. you pursed your lips at his response. feeling somewhat disappointed with his nonchalance. you convinced yourself that he was preoccupied with his career, too busy to send you a proper response. but nevertheless you decided to brush it off, tucking your phone in your bag as you got ready to head out.
when you arrived at the clinic, you couldn’t help but glance around the waiting area to find a glimpse of your husband. but to your dismay, you were the first one to arrive. you took a seat in one of the empty chairs, scrolling mindlessly through your phone in an attempt to ignore the tightening feeling in your chest.
exactly a minute before the clock struck 2, the doors swung open, and seungcheol walked in. his hair was messy, bags surrounded his eyes, and his shoulders slumped. he looked like hell, you couldn’t help but wonder if this was affecting him more than it was affecting you. his eyes landed on you and he made his way towards you, sinking in the seat beside you.
“hey.” he said softly, eyes barely meeting yours. hearing his voice reminded you how much you missed him.
“hi.” your eyes scanning him. you heart fluttered at the proximity between the two of you. you weren’t sure whether you were just touch deprived or you just missed your husband too much–it was probably a mix of both–but the thought of having him close to you made your head slightly dizzy. your mouth opened to speak but decided against it. you wanted to tell him that you were glad he made it and how much it mattered to you. but words felt too heavy to speak, so you enjoyed the silent company he provided instead.
the therapist’s door opened, and a nurse emerged, calling his and yours’ last name. you both stood up, walking inside the room side-by-side, hands almost grazing each other.
you and seungcheol settled on the couch in front of the therapist. she offered you a soft smile, eyes flicking between the two of you.
“hi, mr. and mrs. choi. how are you two feeling today?” she asked, her tone gently with a hint of curiosity.
your eyes shifted to seungcheol, wanting to see if he would speak first. he shifted in his seat, clearing his throat. “it’s been… a busy week.” he let out, eyes glancing between you and the therapist.
your lips formed into a frown, fingers fiddling with each other. “it has been tough. recently i’ve been feeling like we’ve been living separate lives despite sharing the same space.” you forced yourself to speak, the words falling out of your mouth before you could even comprehend them. “i’m afraid that if we let it happen for too long, we might lose each other in the process.”
you could feel seungcheol’s gaze on you, his once tired eyes growing soft from taking you in. he could tell you were extremely upset, your lips quivering and your hands playing with one another–which you only did when you were visibly upset. he wanted to reach for your hand, to provide you with comfort. but his cowardness was taking over him.
she leaned forward, her voice soft but firm. “i see. this must be incredibly difficult for both of you.” her eyes flickered between the two of you. “if you both want to reconnect, we need to address the emotional and physical barrier forming between you.”
you felt a lump form in your throat at her words. you glanced at seungcheol only to find him staring at you. his expression was guarded and unreadable. you felt tiny under his gaze, not used to the intensity of his eyes on you.
the therapist cleared her throat, drawing both of your attention to her. “the effort you two took to meet me today is a sign that you both want to save this relationship, but it seems that there’s a lot of distance–both emotional and physical.” you shifted in your seat at her words. you couldn’t deny the truth; it had been a while since you had a proper conversation with seungcheol, let alone a moment of intimacy. “when was the last time you two… shared a moment of true closeness?” her question was left open. still, you and seungcheol know her meaning was leading to one thing.
your cheeks burned slightly at the thought of it. it had been months since you last shared a bed, weeks since he last held you close; you couldn’t even remember the last time you had sex. you glanced at your husband, wondering if he felt the same embarrassment or if the thought of this issue would bring him back to you.
seungcheol let out a breath he didn't know he was holding, a hand rummaging through his hair. “i-i don’t know, it has been a while.” he admitted, voice so soft you barely caught on to what he was saying. “i’ve been too caught up with stuff at work, i don’t think we’ve shared a bed in a while.” hearing him admit your problems made your heart ache. he was capable of acknowledging his mistakes, yet he made no effort to correct them.
she gave you both a sympathetic look. “it’s not uncommon for couples under this kind of strain to lose touch emotionally and physically. often, intimacy is the first thing to slip, but it’s also one of the most important bridges to reconnecting. i’d like to encourage you both to try spending time together, maybe even share the same bed, and just… see how that feels.”
the suggestion lingered in the air. silence erupting from the two of you as you processed her words. glancing at seungcheol, whose gaze was fixated on the floor while it seemed like he was in deep thought. seungcheol lifted his head, facing you briefly, his eyes filled with vulnerability for the first time in a long time. you caught your bottom lip between your teeth, nodding at your therapist while sending her a soft smile.
the session ended with an agreement to try. hoping that the words you heard today were a head start to fixing your crumbling marriage.
seungcheol mentioned that he had to return to work but promised to be home early. without having a choice, you went separate ways and decided to go home. your heart was heavy on the drive home. you weren’t sure how he took the session today and all you wanted was to talk to him, to hold him, for him to remind you that everything would be okay and that he loved you.
as the afternoon turned into evening, you couldn’t help but pace around the apartment. you already tried everything to keep your mind off of what happened today, but it was nearly impossible. your habit of cleaning every surface took place, every inch of the house spotless as you awaited your husband’s return. even catching up on your favorite series couldn’t help you keep your mind at ease.
you found yourself checking your phone every so often, the time taunting you as it nearly reached 7 pm and there were still no signs of seungcheol. you sighed, feeling a twinge of disappointment form in your heart. not wanting to feel the empty space of the house any longer, you decided to get ready for bed.
after taking a shower and doing your skincare, exhaustion begins to seep through your body. you felt stupid, stupid to think that seungcheol wanted it to work as much as you did. you started to accept that maybe he no longer needed you, no longer felt the same affection he had for you when you first started going out.
you lay in bed, going under the covers as tears escaped your eyes. the memories of you and your husband’s early days haunting you, wondering where it all went wrong.
you hadn’t noticed that you cried yourself to sleep. the sound of rustling around awoke you from your slumber. with heavy eyes, you tried to make out the source of the noise.
“fuck.” seungcheol whispered as he dropped his phone that had his flashlight on as he tried to navigate the room in the dark.
“cheol?” you mumbled, hand rubbing your eye as you sat in bed. seungcheol turned to face you with an apologetic look on his face.
“y/n!” he said, surprised, guilty that he had woken you up. “did i wake you? i’m sorry, i was trying to find a change of clothes.”
you leaned over the bedside table, turning on the lamp to provide light for him. eyes secretly glancing at the time, seeing that it was only 8 pm. “don’t apologize, this is your room too.” you said, but it felt more like a reminder than a statement; it had been so long since he slept here with you.
without saying a word, he stepped towards the bed, sitting on the edge while his back faced you. his shoulders were tense; you could tell he had much on his mind.
you watched with worried eyes as he sighed before he turned to face you. “i’m sorry, y/n.” his gaze was soft, lips dry as he mustered up the courage to speak to you. you inched towards him in bed, sitting directly in front of his body that was turned to you. “i know i’ve been… absent these past couple of weeks, months even. and your head was probably filled with thoughts about what was going on, and i-“ he gulped, tears forming in his eyes. it had been so long since he opened his feelings to you since he looked at you with warm eyes and honesty. the nights you spent alone and mornings waking up next to an untouched bed flashed before you. “i was trying to prove something… to myself, to you.” he admitted, his eyes filled with shame and regret. still, you listened to his words intently. “i thought that if i kept my head down and focused on work, i could finally give us this picture-perfect life that you deserve. and i-i thought you’d be okay with waiting.”
you took a moment to register his words. your fingers absentmindedly fiddling with one another–which he caught. you hadn’t been okay. the loneliness swallowed you these past few months, and his physical distance from you only made it worse. you missed him. you missed his scent, his touch–his hand on your back as you slept, the feeling of his arms around your shoulders, the way he pulled you close in his sleep. you missed the feeling of his soft lips, the feeling of his hands on your body. it had been so long since you felt good.
“you have no idea how hard it’s been, seungcheol.” you started, voice almost trembling as you spoke. “going to bed alone, having no clue if you’d even come home to me. i felt like i was losing you, little by little.”
“god, no.” for the first time in forever, seungcheol reached for your hands instinctively. comfort rushing through your body by his touch. he held your hands tightly, his eyes pleading. “i thought i was doing this for us, y/n, but i was being so selfish. i pushed you away. i pushed us away.” his voice cracked, pain written all over his face. “i missed you. i missed everything about you. i missed us.” he admitted, his thumb gliding over your hands in an attempt to provide solace. “i didn’t want to fail you, y/n.”
his eyes shut, a tear slipping down his cheek. you reached out to cup his face, your thumb wiping away his tears. you felt him lean against your touch, making your heart ache. you couldn’t remember the last time he had been this vulnerable with you. you could see how deeply he felt the loss, even if he had hidden it from you.
seungcheol’s eyes fluttered opened, his voice barely above a whisper. “i promise i’ll make up for the lost time. i want to show you that i’m here and i’m sorry. you’re not losing me.”
his words impacted you harder than you had expected, providing you with both comfort and hurt. it felt silly to be so relieved by his simple promise. but after longing for him for so long, you couldn’t help it. it was exactly what you were waiting to hear. the assurance from him was more than enough to give you ease.
instead of saying anything, you leaned forward and rested your forehead against his. he exhaled softly at your touch. god, you missed him. it meant everything to you that he was here. actually here.
“cheol.” you mumbled, eyes shutting. “i missed you so much.”
you felt him nod lightly. “i know, angel.” hearing his pet name for you flooded you with warm memories. “i missed you, too. more than you could imagine.” his hand slid to the back of your neck. you pulled away from his forehead, eyes staring up at him as he rubbed the skin. slightly shivering at his touch as it reached down into the parts of you that had felt cold and empty for so long. “let me make up for the lost time.” his voice was deep as his gaze on you darkened.
your eyes fluttered open, gaze falling to his lips. you let your hands slide down his shoulder, almost pulling his body close to you. he leaned closer to you, his breath fanning your face, lips brushing against yours. you melted into his touch as he connected his lips with yours. your hands finding their way to his chest as the kiss deepened, feeling his heartbeat beneath your fingertips. it reminded you that he was actually here, and you weren’t alone as you had felt for all those months.
seungcheol wrapped his arms around your waist as he laid you on the bed, your back meeting the soft sheets as he climbed between your legs. his thigh rubbing against your core that was growing warm with his every touch. feeling the tension between you dissipate with each kiss and touch. the gap between the two of you shrinking as he showed you just how much he missed you.
his fingers made their way to the hem of your shirt, pulling away from your lips to tug the fabric off your body, leaving your upper half naked. he groaned at the sight of you, reminding him how much he missed seeing your body. “god, i missed you.” he whispered before leaning down and pressing his lips to yours. moaning when his hand slipped between your legs, hand cupping your pussy that was growing wet at his mere touch. your body craving him more than you anticipated.
“cheol, i need you.” you whimpered against his lips as his fingers traced over your clothed core. desperation lacing from your voice made him grow hard against his suit. feeling his hard-on against your thigh. your hands reached up to undo his tie before unbuttoning his shirt. he hovered over you to give you more access, sliding the shirt off once you were done. you shamelessly checked him out, running your fingers over his chiseled chest. you almost forgotten how much you loved his body.
seungcheol hooked his fingers around the waistband of your shorts and underwear. sliding them down your legs, feeling your arousal sticking to the fabric. in a swift movement, he inched his body down the bed until his head was in between your thighs, face dangerously close to your throbbing pussy. he took a whiff, your familiar scent welcoming him. “you smell amazing, baby.” his arm hooked around and over your thigh, pulling your body close to him. bringing two fingers up to your entrance, collecting your arousal, and spreading it up to your clit. “so wet and needy for me.”
you moaned at his touch, hips bucking upwards as you tried to get more friction but his grip around you prevented you from moving. he softly smiled at your state, wasting no time in pressing his tongue against your clit. you gasped, hand flying down to grip his hair.
seungcheol ran his tongue up and down your folds, lips sucking on your clit, occasionally flicking his tongue over the sensitive bud. the sudden movements had your back arching off the bed, hand gripping the sheets beneath you as his tongue lapped your hole. “f-feels so good.” you whimpered.
his free hand snaked around your body, his thumb circling your clit while his tongue fucked your entrance. the sensation driving you crazy as you let out curses. he knew your body all too well. he knew exactly how to push you over the edge even after all these months.
“my pretty girl. i bet your pussy was waiting for me, hm?” he hummed against your folds, the vibrations sending shocks throughout your body. you lifted your head to meet his gaze, his eyes flickering to yours. maintaining eye contact, he slipped his fingers down your core, abruptly inserting two of them inside you. you could barely let out words once you felt his digits curl inside you. he beamed once he saw you writhe beneath his touch, glad that you weren’t that disconnected from each other in every way.
seungcheol pressed his mouth against your clit, sucking on the bud as his fingers relentlessly fucked your hole. thrusting them in and out of you in addicting movements. your hips jerk up from the overwhelming pleasure. toes curling as you felt a knot form in your stomach.
“p-please, cheolie, i want to cum.” your voice shaking as he continued his movements. your hand reaching up to your breast, squeezing them as you felt your orgasm forming.
“let it out, angel.” he whispered against your clit, sucking on it harshly to the point tears fill your eyes. without warning, you came undone with his fingers in you, cursing his name. your insides clenching around his digits as his movements slowed down. you head thrown back against the mattress as you let out shaky breaths.
seungcheol detached his mouth from your clit, pulling his fingers away before entrapping them with his lips. savouring your cum to account for the many months that went by without tasting you. “my good girl.”
seungcheol kneeled between your legs, his cock hard against his stomach–you hadn’t even noticed he took his pants off. you lifted your head to face him, mouth watering at the sight. nearly forgetting how big and thick his cock was. you wrapped your fingers around his length, pumping it lightly before stroking it. his hips inching towards you as he leaned into your touch. your thumb running over his tip that was leaking with precum. you looked at him through your lashes, but his eyes were already dark and focused on you.
“fuck, baby.” he grunted once you jerked him off, but his hand reached for your wrist to prevent your movement. “stop teasing, princess. i need my cock inside your pussy.” his confession made sparks shoot throughout your body and onto your cunt.
seungcheol positioned his body between your legs, gripping his cock in one hand, aligning it with your entrance. you couldn’t help the moans that escaped your lips as he glided the tip of his cock along your folds, spreading your wetness before sinking into you. you gasped at the size of his length. your fingernails digging (careful not to hurt him) into his shoulders as you adjusted to his size.
“i know, baby.” his voice soothed you, hushing you as tears threatened to escape your eyes. fuck, you forgot how his dick felt inside you. “you’re taking me so well, angel.” he pressed kisses all over your face.
once he was balls deep in you, he stayed still for a moment. letting you get used to the sensation, he reached for your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours.
“m-move, please.” your voice barely a whisper. “you’re so big, cheolie.”
seungcheol growled at your words, slowly starting to move his hips. “missed your pussy, baby.” you felt every inch of his cock in you, insides splitting from his size. your insides burning, but it felt so fucking good. you bucked your hips, meeting his thrusts.
he took this as a sign to gradually increase his speed, his hips rocking into you faster. your legs instinctively wrapped around his waist, pulling him even closer to you, scared that if you let go, he’ll disappear again.
the proximity allowing him to bury his cock deeper into you. in a swift motion, he pulled his cock out before slamming his hips against yours. sounds of skin slapping filling the room, along the moans that emit from you and the groans that escape his throat. he buried his face into your neck, leaving soft kisses against the skin.
“you feel so fucking good, shit.” his hand sneaked to your breast, taking your nipple in between his fingers, circling the sensitive bud. the rough pad of his thumb and index adding to the overwhelming pleasure. “fuck, i’m never leaving you alone ever again.”
you don’t know if it was his words or the pleasure from his cock that brought tears to your eyes. he pulled away from your neck, towering over you as he held eye contact with you. “my pretty wife, i love you so much.”
“i-i love you, cheol.” you breathed out, feeling him twitch inside you from your confession. the words felt foreign from your lips, but the feeling was reeling in so many memories. he picked up his pace again, relentlessly fucking you as if to remind you that he’s here now.
seungcheol leaned forward, capturing your lips with his. the kiss was more passionate and needy, his taste leaving you intoxicated. his hand inching down to your clit, rubbing circles on the nub. the stimulation building your orgasm even more. he knew you were getting close when you clenched around him, driving him to fuck into you deeper and harder.
“are you gonna cum for me, angel?” his voice deep as he watched you squirm underneath his touch. he latched his lips to your chest, sucking on the skin softly, enough to surely leave a mark. the overwhelming amount of pleasure he was providing was enough to drive you insane. the coil in your stomach begging to be released. “cum all over my cock, baby, let me feel you.” with the encouragement of his words, you released all over his cock. stars clouding your vision as you ride out your high. “s-shit, baby.” the sight of you cumming on his cock was enough to send seungcheol over the edge. with a few final thrusts, his warm seed burst inside you, painting your walls white, groans filling the room.
seungcheol slowly retreated his cock from you, his cum spilling from your pussy. you winced at the sticky feeling. he pressed a quick kiss on your forehead before he disappeared into the bathroom and grabbed a towel which he ran under cold water. he returned and immediately nursed you, dragging the towel up and down your entrance which made you giggle.
“thank you.” you mumbled as he went to return the towel in the bathroom.
“anything for my beautiful wife.” seungcheol grabbed a shirt from the closet, handing it to you because he knew how much you loved wearing his shirts to bed. even helping you slip it on your body. your heart warmed at the sight of him taking care of you. you barely noticed that he climbed into bed and pulled you close to his chest. “i told you, i’ll make it up to you, my love.” he whispered, pressing a kiss on the side of your head.
you could only nod at his words, feeling slumber take over you. hearing him whisper how much he loved you before falling unconscious.
-
you woke up to the warmth of a body shifting beside you, feeling the familiar weight of your husband’s arm around your waist. the soft morning light greeted you as you opened your eyes. you glanced at his sleeping figure, taking in the sight of his relaxed face, lashes resting against cheeks and lips slightly parted. he was still here. your heart was pounding so loudly that you were sure he'd hear it if he were awake.
your hand reached up to brush away the strands of hair falling onto his face. but before you could do so, his eyes fluttered open, a soft smile forming on his lips as he focused on you.
“g’morning.” seungcheol mumbled, voice deep and husky, still laced with sleep.
“good morning.” you responded, unable to hide the chipper in your voice. you rested your hand on his bare chest, rubbing the skin comfortingly, slightly scared that you were in a dream.
his hand fell to your back, pulling your body close to him. “i meant it, you know.” he whispered, his thumb rubbing circles along your back. “i don’t want us to fall apart again.”
your chest tightened at his words, but this time, the ache was different–it was hopeful. “neither do i.” leaning your head against his neck, softly kissing the skin.
“you have me forever, baby.” he said, a promise that felt as grounding as his touch on your body.
you closed your eyes, letting the warmth of his embrace engulf you. comfortable silence taking over as you lay there in each other’s arms. you both knew this was just the start of finding your way back to one another.
❤︎ ໋𓈒 husband nanami finding out he has a breeding kink.
warnings. fem! reader, mating press, breeding kink, praise, soft dom nanami, mdni.
breeding.
he wouldn’t even know he had such a kink until afterwards, finishing inside of you for about the third time with hot puffs of air running from his lips.
his eyes, dark brown pools that intently stared into yours, he’s in utter love with you and only you. your current position was supine—your legs would be perfectly sprawled and spread for him. mating press, such a deep and thorough angle. so deep to where you were practically seeing stars.
“… you drive me crazy, you know that?” he’d huff out lowly between rough breaths. you stare at him with glossy eyes, a hand softly clinging onto his wrist. he was always so gentle, deep yet precise strokes to make you feel every inch. such eyebrows of his curl up and furrow as he intakes a single sharp breath, the feeling of such thick ropes spewing inside your walls makes him groan. “always s—so good at milking me.”
sloppy hips thwack and drill into you, and that’s when he leans right up close to you—you’re met with lust filled fawn eyes and a needy smile.
“ah. eyes up here, wanna see that pretty face,” and his tempo was so unhinged. you glance up at him and he mutters off a soft, “hi my love,” and you could have just melted right there. nanami lightly presses a hand against your tummy, a thumb swiftly tracing near the exact spot where he was reaching you inside. so full, you moan before he leans in to kiss you, yet instead, he conceals his own whine into the crook of your neck. “this—tummy would look so pretty if it was nice ‘n round for me like last time.”
the very corners of your lips tugs, it outlines into a sweet pout before you whimper, “make me fuller then, kento,” you’d heave out. he was jackhammering such merciless yet tenderly passionate thrusts into your cunt, effortlessly smacking back against you. “wanna f-feel fuller.”
you had the white bed sheets bawl into the palms of your hands. everything felt so warm, his hips just continued to rotate and jerk and jerk and jerk. it was hypnotic, he knew just where to prod the head of his cock right against you.
you’re nearly drooling. just imagining such lengthy ropes of his pump you full. you wanted it, no—you needed it. desperately, you were practically being fucked into the mattress—the mattress in question creaked and sang in such harmony it was hard not to ignore its sounds.
the entire feeling, you were clamping down on him so tight that his jaw tenses. a simple sight like that was oh so sexy in the slightest, nanami lightly bites down on his lip. a cute flushed expression slowly painting over his face once he catches you still staring. he was chasing his own breath, giving you slow yet perfect full vivacious thrusts.
“k-kento,” you’d moan with a slight gasp, he brings a hand to slide your arms all the way up. it’s almost teasing, the way he makes you hold your hands high, a soft simper rests against his lips the entire time. your legs quaver, feeling how easy it was for him to stretch you out. his touch, it was blisteringly hot, blisteringly tender.
he made sure to delicately trace his fingers all over your skin. he wouldn’t dare miss a spot. not with a body as perfect as yours. that’s what he saw in his eyes anyway. “so—so goooood, don’t s-stop baby.”
“wasn’t gonna,” he huffs out, and his voice was so raspy and rich. a subtle coarse of baritone hidden underneath his deep tone. you peer up at him and he leans in to kiss the tip of your nose. “if my princess wants to feel more full, i’ll do just that. give her anything she wants.”
you whimper, feeling him hit such a sensitive angle, he hit it just right too.
the crown of his dick made its way through every crevice of your walls. he reached in spots that you didn’t think he’d reach — not at all, you failed to hide your moans by this point and he thought you sounded so cute. knowing he was the one to make you sound like this, feel this way, it made him happy. that’s all he wanted, your pleasure was his pleasure.
every. single. spot.
whilst your toes curled, you feel your back start to seemingly arch on its own before even more sweetened whimpers fly past your sheeny lips. “give m-me,” you started to speak. he raises a brow marginally, brushing a thumb against your lower lip before feeling himself about to bottom out. at that point, he was fully inside, you felt it and you only mewled out a candied, “give me another baby kento. please.”
“oh,” he softly murmurs, and his tongue playfully licks against your neck—a sweet lap, he savored your taste before teasingly starting to nibble.
“gonna give you triplets this time,” and he brings a hand down your chest, then towards your stomach, real slow. you moan once he gingerly lifts up your leg before giving your ankle a kiss. “this what you want, sweetheart? more of this? more of … me?”
“yes,” you pout, feeling your cunt just swallowing his hefty shack, his base smacks back and forth against you to where you’re almost giddy. you felt like you were on cloud nine, nanami’s strokes, his thrusts hell, his enticing rhythm had you nearly speechless. you let off a soft meek once the shivering cold metal of his watch band slithers against your skin.
the more he touched you, the more close you became to making yet another mess on him. of course, like the good husband he was, nanami would happily clean you up.
“y-yes, kento,” you repeat in a honeyed voice, by this point, your legs were well wrapped around his waist. fully having him in a secure lock, not ever thinking to let go, you couldn’t nor did you want to. he drove into your gummy walls so good that you let off the sugared most melodic moans right up against his earlobe. “want…..another baby.”
“i know you do,” he hushes, bringing a chaste kiss towards your collarbone. you swallow a thick imaginary lump that grew into your throat. only tiny squeaks would come out — you moaned, tightening your legs hold around him before you started to picture such fanciful things.
fanciful things like nanami pouring yet another a thick load into you, and as you’re deep in thought he’s doing just that. a gasp gets caught in his lips before he leans up close to you. his broad chest presses up against you before he groans. out of all the notorious enemies he’s had to fight, he was simply no match for your pussy. its grip had him being the one with his eyes nearly rolling back.
“f-fuck,” and you felt yourself throb, making direct eye contact with him. it was rare, yet hearing nanami swear was so infrequent.
it was the way he swore, spewing out such filthy words underneath his breath. long ruffled strands of messy hair nearly occluding his view of vision. he reaches to move some of his hair away from his face, just so he could get a good glimpse of you—a good glimpse of his wife.
“look at me,” he says in a soft tone, he was buried so deep within you, you saw how his muscles tensed and his jaw tightened. he made his hips come to a halt completely before he leans in to gift you with another kiss. “mwah,” he smooches near your jawline, “mwah,” near your chin, and a final kiss near your lips.
your heart, it fluttered.
nanami felt warm all over his body, as well as the sheer warmth that coated him from being inside you. “i—i love you,” you’d whine, feeling such massive velvet ropes of cum going all inside of you. he merely lets off a purr at the way the back of your heel skims down his back. “so much.”
“i love you,” he returns it. his mouth briefly opens, and he was about to say ‘more’ but he pauses. nanami’s weight was still hovering over you before he brings a same big hand down towards your tummy. “now, we wait. you’re such a good mommy for me, sweetheart.”
I’ll Cry If I Want To
Pairing: enemies to lovers!Peter Parker x Stark!Reader
Synopsis: you get stood up on your birthday and Peter attempts to cheer you up despite your feud
Masterlist
Peter walked into the kitchen in the tower and was immediately greeted by a confetti popper exploding in his face followed by a tender kiss on the forehead from Tony.
“Oh, my. Good morning to me.” Peter smiled at the greeting.
“Damn it, Parker.” Tony groaned. “I thought you were my little girl.”
“Don’t feel bad, daddy. A lot of people confuse Peter for a little girl.” You said as you walked into the kitchen behind Peter. The two of you made eye contact and you gave him an innocent smile while he rolled his eyes at you.
“Ha ha.“ He said sarcastically and then hissed at you like a cat. You gave him a look as you walked over to your dad.
“Happy birthday, baby girl.” Tony said and pulled you into a long hug.
“Thank you, daddy.” You smiled and hugged him back.
“Thank you, daddy.” Peter said in a high pitched voice to mock you. You and Tony looked at him and he quickly cleared his throat.
“Sorry. What I meant to say was, happy birthday. I didn’t know that was today. I mean, I’d been wondering why you looked so old but I assumed it was from your lack of sunscreen use.”
“Nice try. I wear sunscreen everyday.” You replied.
“Really?” He gasped. “Might want to up that SPF a few. You look like a crumbled piece of paper and not in a fun Taylor Swift way.”
“Don’t talk to me about skincare, Rudolf.” You snapped and tapped your nose twice to point out the zit on the tip of Peter nose. He covered it with his hand and narrowed his eyes at you.
“Children, please. No fighting. It stops my moisturizer from sinking in.” Tony sighed and rubbed circles into his skin.
“Sorry, daddy. I just wanted to make sure Peter knew about the giant pimple on his nose in case he was going to see anyone today.” You said as you smiled sweetly at Peter. He discreetly flipped you off by scratching his cheek with his middle finger.
“Any plans for the night, jelly bean?” Tony asked you.
“Nothing crazy. My friends are coming over later for a sleepover.”
“Oh God. Is this gonna be one of those crazy parties where you all get drunk and things get out of hand and you accidentally kill someone and have to dispose of the body together while hijixs ensues?” Peter. whined.
“No, because this isn’t one of the pornos you watch.” You scoffed.
“Pfft. That is not what I watch.” He insisted. “Where would I even find something like that? What would I even type? I’m open to suggestions.”
“Shut up.” You laughed. “You’re such a weirdo. And don’t be hanging around when my friends are here. I already told them you’re a pervert and on the FBI watch list so you don’t have a chance with any of them.”
“I don’t want to date your freakbob friends anyway.” He scoffed. “And to keep it down tonight, will you? I already wake up the birds chirping every morning. I don’t want to hear you birds all night too.”
“I actually came up with a solution for that. What if you killed yourself?” You asked through a smile.
“That’s a great idea. I might give that a whirl today if I’m not busy.” He replied and matched your smile.
“You? Busy?” You laughed. “Please. Busy doing what?”
“Peter and I are gonna be in the lab doing boring stuff with the suits. Adjustments, additions, and what have you.” Tony answered you.
“Oh. Okay. Do you need any help?” You asked.
“I wouldn’t ask you to do that on your birthday, baby girl. Peters got it.” Tony replied, making your smile falter a little.
“Yeah. I’ve got it.” Peter boasted and gave you a smug look. You glared at him for a moment before looking back at your dad.
“I’ll catch you later for some cake, okay honey bun?” Tony told you before kissing your forehead.
“Okay. Bye. Have fun.” You smiled sadly as he left the room.
“You look greasy, by the way.” Peter said once you were alone.
“Like I care what you think. Even your hairline won’t stay with you.” You scoffed and nodded towards his forehead.
“It’s not actually receding, is it?” He asked and touched his hair.
“Maybe your forehead is just getting bigger.” You shrugged and popped a grape in your mouth from the bowl on the table.
“Bite me.” He replied and stopped touching his hair.
“You’d like that, wouldn’t you?” You chuckled. “Isn’t that how you got your powers, spider boy?”
“Yup. What do you think would happen if you bite me? Would I be able to a do anything a total bitch can?” He wondered, making you pelt a grape at him. He caught it with ease and popped it into his mouth.
“Watch your mouth before I bring out the peppermint essential oils again.” You warned him.
“You wouldn’t.” He said quietly.
“Try me.” You shrugged. You stared at each other across the kitchen for a moment before Peter gave up.
“You win. Here’s your card. Happy birthday, gaylord.” He said as he handed you a homemade birthday card from his jeans pocket before quickly running out of the room. You rolled your eyes at him but smiled once he was gone and read the card. As annoying as you normally found him, you appreciated that he remembered your birthday. Inside the card was a crude drawing of the two of you fighting next to a drawing of a gift card to Planet Fitness.
Peter strolled into your bedroom around 10 pm when he had grown curious as to why your friends weren’t there yet. It was getting kind of late and you had listed many activities that you had planned to do while Peter begrudgingly listened to you talk earlier in the day. You were still in your room by yourself so he went in and knocked on your door to see what was happening.
“Hey dingus. When are your dumb friends getting here? I need to know when I should jam my ears with scissors.” Peter said as he leaned against your doorway. You were sitting on your bed with your knees draw to your chest and your chin resting on top of them as you stared out the window.
“Do that anyway.” You mumbled and didn’t move from your position.
“I’m going to. I can’t listen to you all yap about when Reputation TV is coming all night. And your friend Stacy’s theories are always way off.” He continued. You still didn’t turn to look at him and his smirk dropped when he heard a sniffle. He frowned and took a step into your room.
“Hello? I knew you were dumb but did you forget how to turn your neck or something?” He said to try to make you laugh. You stayed still and he craned his neck to try to see your face.
“Seriously though, when are they coming?”
“They’re not coming.” You said finally in a horse voice.
“Why? What happened? Did they finally realize you’re an annoying brat whose only redeeming quality is access to daddy’s credit card?” Peter teased in another attempt to make you laugh.
“Something like that.” You mumbled. Peter frowned and finally realized that something was actually wrong. He sat down on your bed and reached his hand out.
“Whats going on? Are you okay?” He asked in a soft voice.
“Just go away.” You said sadly and wiped tears from your face. Peter shot a web at a tissue box on your dresser and pulled it over.
“I’m not going anywhere until you tell me what happened.” He said and handed you a tissue. You gave him a skeptical look and he held up one hand in defense while waving the tissue in the other like a white flag. You sighed and took the tissue before wiping your eyes.
“They found out it wasn’t a yacht party or at some fancy restaurant or some elitist club in Tribeca so they all cancelled.“ You said as you nervously ripped the tissue up in your hands.
“They cancelled? Why?”
“Because no one wants to come to my party. They want to come to a Stark Industries party with puppies in the gift bags and acrobats suspended from the ceiling and Avengers walking around like party clowns. Just hanging out with me wasn’t cool enough so they all bailed.” You sniffled and turned back to look out the window. Peter raised his hand to place it on your shoulder but then drew it back. He didn’t know if he was who you’d want to comfort you and he didn’t want to push it.
“I’m sorry.” He said instead.
“Like you care.” You laughed sadly and held your knees tighter to your chest.
“I do care.” He insisted. “And I’m very sorry this happened to you tonight.”
“No you’re not.” You scoffed. “You’re probably thrilled to see me like this. This is probably the greatest moment of your dumb life.”
“It’s not.” He said quietly. You finally whipped around to look at Peter and he saw the pain in your red eyes.
“It’s not? Look at me, Peter. I’m pathetic. I’m alone on my birthday because I wasn’t good enough for anyone to hang out with.” You exclaimed. Peter went quiet as you slowly caught your breath. You teased each other all the time but you’d never actually yelled at him before. You wiped your eyes with the tissue before staring at your hands.
“You were right.” You said quietly. “I am just a spoiled brat who people only like because of my connections. And I’m sure you’re anxiously waiting for me to shut up so you can say “I told you so” and prove to me once again that I’m always wrong.”
You and Peter sat in silence for a minute without looking at each other. Peter felt guilty that you were expecting him to kick you while you were down. You were feeling your own guilt for snapping at him when he was trying to be nice.
“I’m not gonna say that.” He said after a beat.
“It’s fine. I’m fine. Just go away.” You said miserably and turned back to the window. Peter opened his mouth to say something but shut it when he couldn’t find the words. He patted your shoulder twice before getting up and leaving your room. You turned to look at the door once he was gone and felt yourself missing his presence. You turned back to the window and stared out at the night sky through your teary eyes and let time pass.
After a while, you started to smell something. You sniffed the air until you recognized it as the scent of a something burning. Out of sheer curiosity, you wrapped a blanket around your shoulders and padded into the kitchen. You found Peter in the kitchen with a lace trimmed pink apron tied around his waist and flour smeared on his cheek. You smiled in surprise and leaned against the wall to watch him for a minute. He was humming to himself a song you didn’t recognize while scrapping a burnt black lump of something into the trash can. When he finally turned around, he jumped when he saw you.
“Jesus. You scared me. But I guess I should’ve known the smell of something baking would have your big back running to the kitchen like I hit the bat signal.”
“Shut up.” You chuckled. “What are you doing in here?”
“Well, your parents went to a movie since they thought your friends would be here. That means no ones home.” Peter began.
“And?” You asked.
“And so I thought we could fulfill a lifelong fantasy of mine and making sweet love to you on the kitchen counter.” He smiled suavely and raised his eyebrows at you.
“Excuse me?” Your jaw dropped as he drummed his fingertips on the counter.
“I’m joking. I’m clearly baking a bake. Or, I tried. I guess 500 degrees was too hot.” He said and looked at the burnt cake in the trash.
“Yeah, that’s a few hundred above what it should be. But why are you baking? We have a chef for that.”
“Because it’s your birthday you miserable bitch. And everyone deserves a cake baked with love. Now do you prefer chocolate or vanilla frosting on your burnt cake?” He asked and held up two cans of frosting. You looked between the two before your eyes settled on him. You hugged your blanket tighter around yourself and shook your head.
“I don’t want your pity.” You said quietly.
“You don’t have it so shut up and grab a spatula before I rescind your choice in the matter and funfetti the fuck out of this cake.” He replied and held out a spatula. You stared at it and felt compelled to take it and join him, but you were still throwing yourself a pity party.
“No.”
“No? Look, I’m trying to cheer your dumb ass up so can you please work with me here?” Peter sighed and looked at you. You stared at him for a while before cracking the slightest smile. He noticed the smile and knew he had succeeded in his plan to cheer you up.
“Fine. But I’m not eating that. That’s what Santa puts in the bad kids stockings. We’ll make a new one. But I’m not touching raw eggs.” You told him and grabbed your dad’s matching pink apron from the drawer.
“I wouldn’t expect you to, Princess.” Peter mumbled under his breath. You glared at him through your lashes as you threw some flour and sugar into a bowl. Peter went to put the butter in but you pushed his hand away.
“It can’t be cold butter or it won’t mix properly. It has to be room temperature.” You explained as you filled a measuring cup with water.
“Oh. Let’s pop it in the microwave then.”
“We can’t do that either. Then the hot butter will scramble the eggs. Do you want little egg bits in your cake?” You asked him as you microwaved the cup of water for a minute.
“Maybe just a little.” Peter replied as he watched you put the butter into a small bowl and then place the bowl on top of the microwaved water.
“There. This will soften the butter without making it hot enough to scramble the eggs.” You explained. He looked between your little invention and you for a minute before smiling.
“Wow. That was really smart.” He said genuinely. “Women really do belong in the kitchen.”
“Shut up.” You rolled your eyes as you set the temperature to the correct heat on the oven. Peter couldn’t help but watch you over his shoulder as you combined the rest of the dry ingredients and expertly cracked an egg in one hand. He rarely got to see you like this, no makeup and in lounge clothes. And he definitely never saw you upset before. He was used to the perfectly groomed and standoffish version of yourself so this change of pace brought him unexpected joy.
“Move over. That’s not how you mix batter. You need to fold it.” You told him and reminded him of the you he knew. You bumped him with your hip and put your hands over his to help him fold the batter.
“Like laundry?” He asked as his cheeks heated up.
“Like you know what laundry is, Pigpen. And no. A different folding. Like this.” You said and helped him mix the batter until it was the desired consistency.
“Oh wow. That worked really well. I usually just go sicko mode until it turns into goop.” He confessed.
“And how does that work out for you?” You asked him.
“Look in the trash and you’ll find out.” Peter replied and eyed the burnt cake in the garbage can. You playfully rolled your eyes at him and kept helping him fold the batter. Everytime he tried to stir the batter, you gently corrected his hands to fold it instead.
“Why don’t you just do it?” He asked when he started getting frustrated with himself.
“Because you won’t learn if I do it.” You replied in a softer tone. Peter went quiet since you were being unexpectedly nice to him. You let the batter sit for minute once you were satisfied and then poured in into a cake pan.
“There. Thats gonna take about 30 minutes to bake and then it needs to cool before we frost it.” You told him as you shut the oven door.
“Oh, so we have 30 minutes? Then circling back to that making love on the counter idea-“
“Shut it.” You warned him. Peter pretended to zipper his lips and throw away the key. You cracked a smile before starting to clean up the kitchen. Peter wordlessly helped you tidy up and you exchanged a soft smile with each other in the silence of the kitchen.
“What was your worst birthday?” You asked after a long beat of silence.
“Are you talking to me?” Peter asked after looking around.
“Peter, we’re the only ones in the room.”
“Sorry. It’s not like you’ve ever asked me a personal question before. It’s usually “are you stupid?” or “can you go away?” or “do you need a tampon cry baby?” He recalled, making you feel bad for always being so mean to him.
“Oh. Sorry about that.” You said quietly. “I sound a lot meaner than I thought I was.”
“I’m mean too.” Peter shrugged.
“You tease me.” You shook your head. “I’m just cruel.”
“I think we are an equal amount of mean to each other. Don’t let it keep you up at night. I’m sure your chronic yeast infections do that enough.” Peter tried to lighten the mood, but you didn’t crack a smile. You seemed faraway in thought and he was curious as to why.
“Do you think I’m hard to be around?” You asked after a minute. Peter was about to crack another joke until he saw the look on your face. He could tell you needed a friend right now and was filled with determination to be one.
“No. I think those girls you called your “friends” are hard to be around.” He said seriously. “I’ve seen you with them. They’re the mean ones. Them bailing tonight has nothing to do with you. They’re a bunch of shallow jerks who only care about the material things in life. They don’t care about having deep connections with people. They only care about deep pockets on people. I know this isn’t the first time they’ve ditched you. And I know you feel alone even when they are here because you’re never fully included. You think no one notices because you tell stories about your charming adventures together but I see it in your eyes. They make you feel like an afterthought. You act tough and pretend it doesn’t bother you but I know that it does. You shouldn’t hang out with them anymore.”
“Then who am I going to hang out with?” You shrugged sadly. “Without them, I don’t have any friends.”
“Sitting alone is better than sitting at a table where you’re the topic of conversation when you get up.” Peter said simply. You stared at him for a moment before your eyes fell to the floor.
“I just don’t want to be alone.” You said quietly. Peter nodded his head in understanding and let a silence fall between the two of for a while. He was going to say that you wouldn’t be alone because you’d have him, but he didn’t know if you wanted to hear that.
“Can I ask you something?” He asked.
“No.” You said immediately. You made eye contact and you let out a sigh.
“Okay. Go ahead.”
“Why don’t you like me?” He asked without looking into our eyes. You saw that coming and stared at him to try and get a sense of what was going on in his head. He slowly looked back up at you and gave you a weak smile.
“Do you remember that time the power went out in the city due to that Max guy or whatever and we all lit candles and hung out in the tower?”
“Uh oh.” Peter gulped. “You answered my question with another question. That can’t be good.”
“Shut up. Do you remember or not?” You asked and gently kicked his foot with your foot.
“I remember that.” He told you and held your gaze.
“You were new around here. You had just gotten your powers that year so I didn’t really know you yet. I had gone to look for more candles and found you crying on the floor of the linen closet.
“I remember that.” He nodded. “It was all so overwhelming to be here with the whole team. I had never felt so small.”
“I know. I told you I felt like that too sometimes. And then we stayed up for hours talking about every stupid thing we ever worried about and gave each other advice. I think at one point I gave you advice on how much conditioner to use.” You said as you replayed the night in your memory. You had a look on your face that Peter had never seen on you before. It was natural and relaxed and playful, all things he knew to be the opposite of you. It was so rare that the two of you were getting along and he didn’t want to do anything to ruin in.
“A dime sized amount and not on the roots. I still use that advice.” He chuckled. “You were so nice to me that night. You came in and pretended I wasn’t crying so that I wouldn’t be embarrassed. You just sat down with me and started talking ad if we’d always been friends. You quieted all my fears that night. I was initially so embarrassed about it but then I felt a lot better knowing someone had my back no matter how bad I messed up.”
“I always had your back.” You insisted. “Even when I was mean to you. If you were in trouble with my dad, I was always here talking him down and trying to get him to see your side. He sees you through the lense of his child that he doesn’t want hurt but I’ve always seen you as a hero who wants to help. I even got him to give you the suit back when you were 15. And it was my idea to put the warmers in because you told me you’re always cold.”
“Really? You were rooting for me this whole time?” He cracked a smile in surprise.
“Yeah.” You shrugged. “Always.”
“Then how come you act like…” Peter trailed off in fear of insulting you.
“Like what?” You asked, sounding like you already knew what was coming.
“Like you hate me.” He admitted. You felt your face burn in embarrassment and shook your head.
“I don’t hate you.” You said sheepishly.
“You don’t?” He asked in genuine surprise. You looked at him and he could see the guilt in your eyes even in the dim light of the kitchen.
“No. I don’t. I never did.”
“Then how come we don’t get along anymore?” He asked. He had only gone along with all the teasing since you began it, but he had always wondered why it started.
“One of the things we had talked about that night was how my one regret about being homeschooled was never getting to experience a prom. I told you had dreamed of it since I was a little girl and it broke my heart to know I’d never have one. So then you said…” You trailed off, thinking he’d remember what he told you. His face showed no sign of remembering it but he racked his brain anyway.
“I said what?” He asked, breaking your heart just a little more.
“You promised to take me. To yours.” You told him. You and Peter stood in silence for a moment before he burst out laughing. Your sadness immediately hardened into anger at the sound of him laughing at you.
“Wait, you’ve been pissy towards me for the last few years because I broke a promise I made at 15 years old and didn’t take you to a stupid school dance?” Peter asked through a laugh. You glared at him for his reaction and he immediately stopped when he noticed you weren’t laughing too.
“Oh. We’re not laughing?” He asked.
“Why is that funny to you?” You snapped. Peter saw the moment slipping away from him and started to panic.
“Well I was- I was a kid.” He said simply. “I had a huge crush on this girl Liz and we were finally becoming friends so I asked her and she said yes. That was years after I promised you that. I’m sorry but I didn’t remember.”
Peter thought you were going to yell at him and hurl a parade of insults his way, but you just nodded your head and looked down at the ground.
“You’re right. We were just kids. Forget I said anything.” You mumbled and started walking towards the door to leave. Peter knew he had messed up big time and possibly just killed any and all chances of the two of you becoming friends.
“Wait.” He said desperately just as the kitchen timer went off. You stopped walking and watched him haphazardly take the cake out of the oven and throw it in the stove top as he blew on it.
“You should stay. We have to frost it.” He said with a weak smile and an even weaker attempt for you for stay.
“You can’t frost it while it’s hot. It’ll slip right off.” You said without looking at him.
“Oh. I didn’t know that. Well then do you want to talk some more or-“
“I have to go.” You cut him off and swiftly left the kitchen.
You went back to your room to resume the pouting you had started earlier. You felt guilty about walking out on Peter but it had hurt you to know that a promise that had meant a lot to you didn’t even stay in his memory. You stared out the window and sulked as you thought yourself into a deep rut. It didn’t take long for Peter to start making noise in the kitchen, interrupting your thought spiral. You heard things falling out of cabinets followed by Peter swearing. He bumbled around for a while and slowly drove you crazy with all the noise he was making until you couldn’t take it anymore. Just when you were about to text him and tell him the knock it off, you heard the dulcet sounds of “The Dancing Queen” coming from downstairs. You groaned in frustration and got out of bed to go downstairs and see what was happening.
When you got to the living room, Peter was standing there in one of your dad’s suits that hugged him a little too tightly around his muscles. The room looked like it had been decorated by a child with poorly hung streamers, ripped up construction paper to act as confetti, and bunches of webs that Peter had tried to shape into stars and moons. He had dimmed the lights and put a single bowl of chips on the counter, which he proudly stood beside.
“What the hell is this?” You asked him.
“Will you go to prom with me?” He asked with a huge smile.
“No.” You said immediately. “Please kill yourself.”
“I will.” He promised. “After one dance.”
“I’m not dancing with you. I’m not doing any of this.” You told him and turned to leave. You heard a “pst” right before feeling a web hit your back. Before you knew it, Peter tugged on the web and sent you stumbling back into Peter’s arms. He caught you with ease and winked when you landed in his arms. You rolled your eyes at him but felt a smile tugged at your lips.
“Please? Just one dance? Then I’ll let you go and hate me for the rest of your life.” He pleaded as he stared into your eyes. He looked so desperate that you found yourself nodding before you knew what you were agreeing to. He smiled in excitement and twirled you around before slowly swaying to the beat. You begrudgingly sighed and wrapped your arms around his neck while his stayed in a respectable place on your hips. You could feel his eyes on you but you kept yours on the ceiling.
“You can look at me, you know.” He teased, making you begrudgingly look him in the eyes.
“Oh. I almost forgot.” He smiled and pulled something out of his pocket. You looked down and saw a few poorly drawn flowers webbed to a rubber band.
“Your corsage, my lady.” He said as he slipped it onto your wrist.
“This is so stupid.” You laughed but secretly loved the thought he put into everything.
“It’s about to get even more stupid. Wait here.” He asked and quickly ran into the kitchen. He returned with one of Morgan’s plastic tiaras with a big fake gem in the center.
“Every prom needs its queen.” He said as he placed the crown on your head. You made eye contact as he stepped forward to adjust it and you felt your breath catch in your throat from how close he was.
“You didn’t have to do this.” You said quietly.
“Yes I did. I owed you a prom experience. I’m sorry I didn’t take you the first time. And I’m sorry for laughing at you. You just caught me off guard. I have spent many nights thinking of all the things I could have done to make you hate me. I genuinely forgot about that promise. I had no idea this entire time that you hated me because of prom.” He said as the two of you started swaying to the music again. You felt a feeling rise up in your chest, a feeling you hadn’t felt for Peter in many years.
“It wasn’t just the prom.” You admitted before you could think about it.
“It wasn’t? What else did I do? Did I hotbox the elevator with you in it or something?” He asked. “I did that to Wanda once and now she’ll show up in my dreams sometimes and make me pee the bed.”
“That’s disgusting.” You said flatly. “But no. It wasn’t that.”
“Then what?” He wondered.
“It’s stupid. You’ll just laugh again.”
“No I won’t.” He assured you. “Probably. I’ll definitely try really hard not to.
“Come on. Please tell me.” He pleaded and gave your hip a gentle squeeze. “You have to tell me now or I’ll become so annoying so quickly. I’ll be worse than those people who try to describe SNL skits to you and keep explaining even when it’s clearly only funny if you’re watching it.”
“I can’t tell you. It’s dumb anyway. Forget I said anything.” You said and hoped he’d drop it.
“It can’t be that dumb if it stood between us all these years. What, did you have a crush on me or something?” He laughed through his question. You went quiet and Peters eyes went wide.
“Oh shit. Did you have a crush on me?” He asked in a soft voice. You looked down at the ground to avoid having to look him in the eyes now that you were caught.
“I don’t know.” You sighed. “You were my age and had these cool powers and muscles and unexpected sense of humor. I was homeschooled and had swiped to the end of Tinder. You were my only option.”
“Oh. I see. So you only liked me because I was the only choice?” He said through a laugh but it hurt him. You could sense in his voice that you had just hurt his feelings and for once, that wasn’t what you wanted.
“I mean, not the only choice.” You added. “Cap used to hang around a lot more and he’s not the worst looking. But he’s like 500 so I never really had a chance.”
“Why me, then?” He wondered. You finally looked in to his eyes and shrugged a little.
“Because you were kind.” You admitted. “You didn’t need to take on as much as what you did at such a young age but you refused to do the easy stuff. You used to drive my dad crazy with how for you begged for assignments. You were so determined to get out there and save people, it was almost obnoxious. You were never content getting back stolen bikes. You always wanted to protect people from the big things. Even when you were just a kid. I liked that about you. I still do.”
“Still?” He gulped. “Even now?”
Before you could respond, the slow music that was playing ended and “Munch” started to blast from Peter phone. He scrambled to change the song but the moment had already been ruined.
“Sorry about that. I don’t know who put that on my playlist.” He quickly lied.
“It was you.”
“It was me, yeah.” He admitted and hung his head in shame. You stopped dancing and slowly withdrew your arms from him, making his heart sink.
“This was really sweet. Thank you, Peter.” You said genuinely. “I should probably get to bed now. I just want this day to end.”
“But we haven’t frosted the cake yet. It’s still your birthday. You can’t go to bed without any cake.” He said in a desperate attempt to get you to stay.
“I don’t know. It’s late.”
“Come on. It’ll be fast. That’s one of my powers. Spider can frost cake really fast and so can I.” He said and rushed over to the cake. He held it up and gave you a lopsided smile, convincing you to stay.
“Fine. Let’s make it fast.” You agreed and walked over to him. He smiled at you joining him and got out the frosting. He handed you a spatula and you started to frost the cake.
“You don’t have to keep wearing that if you don’t want.” Peter chuckled and went to take your crown off. You quickly swatted his hand and adjusted your crown.
“Back off. It’s mine.” You said and stepped away from him. He chuckled again and you laughed too.
“I really do appreciate everything you did for me tonight. I hope I can make it up to you one day.” You told him.
“You can make it up to me right now if we clear off this counter top and-“
“No.” You cut him off.
“Worth a try.” He mumbled.
“Really, though. You cheered me up tonight and I didn’t think that was possible.”
“In a way, I’m glad your stupid friends cancelled on you. It gave us an opportunity to spend time together. And this was the least I could do for not taking you to my real prom. Which was total buns, by the way. I missed most of it because I was putting my dates dad in jail.”
“Well I’m glad that didn’t happen tonight.” You laughed softly.
“Me either. I wish I took you to the first one. We could have been friends this whole time if I had just remembered my promise.” He sighed.
“It’s fine. It was a long time ago. I’m done moping about it. I’m ready to eat this cake and be friends from now on.”
“I’m ready for that too.” He smiled at you. “Especially the part about us being friends. But also for this cake because it’s kinda giving me a boner from how good it smells.”
“It does smell really good. I can’t even blame your boner. But if that thing even looks at me you’re getting impromptu gender reassignment surgery with this spatula.”
“Ouch.” He chuckled and looked over at you. He didn’t stop looking at you until you felt his eyes on you.
“What?” You laughed shyly.
“I can’t believe you ever liked me. And that this whole time, I had no idea. I am so not cool enough for a girl like you to like.”
“Yeah, well. It wasn’t like I dropped any hints.”
“Maybe not. It just doesn’t feel real. I wouldn’t believe it even if you weren’t always mean to me. You reciprocating my feelings was not something I ever thought would happen.”
“Reciprocating? You liked me too?” You asked as your mouth went dry.
“Are you kidding? You’re my mentors insanely hot and totally off limits daughter. Of course I liked you. Not to mention you’re funny, smart, good with a screwdriver and the apparently my biggest supporter. Though you did it in secret. Make no mistake, birthday girl. I had the biggest crush on you for years. Even when you were being mean to me.”
“Oh. I didn’t know.” You said quietly. You had your back to him as you washed your hands but you could feel his eyes on you. You peaked over your shoulder and sure enough, Peter’s eyes were locked on you. You gulped and turned back around when you heard him walking over to you.
“You know, as mean as your insults were, they were always clever. And you always looked good saying them. How could I not fall for you?” He said as he came up behind you. He was close enough that you could smell his cologne, along with a scent that was just distinctly Peter, making your heart pound in your ears. You turned around and leaned against the counter as you looked into his eyes.
“Well how do you feel now?” You asked with unwavering eye contact.
“I feel like those feelings never left.” He admitted. You had never heard such confidence in his voice and it was just the thing to tip the scales back in his favor.
“Hm. Interesting.” You shrugged and turned back around. It was almost like you could hear the disappointment in the air once you had your back to him again. You decided not to torture him forever and give in to what you both wanted.
“Peter?” You asked and looked over your shoulder at him.
“Yeah?”
“Clear the countertop.”
